Montana Rest

I’m staying in a deluxe twin room (AC). It's on the second floor, and it's clean and bright with sunlight. There's a mosquito net for each bed, and there's a big tree outside the window, so I like it. There is also a garden. I chose the deluxe room because I thought it would be nice to have more space, but the economy double room looked just as good, except that it was on the first floor.

Absolutely love this place! I came and ended up staying for about 15 days and I couldn't have found myself in a more perfect place!

Part of that reason is because of the staff! I really connected with them all and enjoyed their amazing hospitality, truly some of the kindest people! As a solo traveler, these relationships are so beautiful and you really don't feel lonely when you are surrounded by such kind staff who become your friends:) I knew very little about the area and they explained to me all the best places to go along with the best times to go, they did their very best to assist me in every way possible. They were so patient and taught me many things about the history, mythology and language of the area, I feel I learnt so so much of my Sinhala from this time period and I will be forever grateful:)

The area is also amazing! There is such peace at the hotel, surrounded by plants and nature and Anuradhapura in general has an amazing energy and peaceful feeling to it. Every morning I walked to one of the many fruit stalls and enjoyed my breakfast in the park or back at the hotel, they were always happy to accommodate and gave me a chopping board, knife and plate:) You are a 10 min walk from the center where you find many food options and any supplies you might want, there is also a big market every week (ask the staff for days).

I also met a other incredible travelers here! Much love to all of you guys too!:) Definitely recommend this place for any solo travellers looking to explore the ancient capital of Sri Lanka!

The hotel has a dorm and private rooms, I stayed upstairs in the dorm the first night which was fine, the beds were a little small but comfortable, I slept good, has a few fans too. I later got moved to a private room which was AMAZING! Comfy beds and a really nice space, has everything I needed. Cold showers which is fine for Anuradhapura. Walls were a little thin so can hear your neighbors, still, worked out completely fine for me. The rooms and general hotel was also clean. Lots of love goes into this place.

They have food available too, i had delicious kiribath, I tried Pittu for my first time and on my last night, they cooked me a full selection of delicious food! With one of my favorites - moringa! Truly this was so incredibly tasty, really made with so much love and you can taste it! They also brought my fresh sambol/luna maris to my room when I had hoppers. Gihan even dropped me and helped me get on the right bus. All these amazing acts of kindness added to my stay and I am forever grateful to these guys, I met/spoke to the family and I really love them! Thank you so much guys! Many blessings to you all:) I will always remember you and would love to return someday!

Nice place to stay when you visit Anuradapura. Rooms are very good. There are A/C rooms. Recommended place.

It is amazing big house, with wood furniture on every level, all facilities, very good cleaning, perfect space. I was happy here

No complaints, very nice, clean, air con, ensuite, room fridge, healthy meals, everything is very inexpensive. Enjoy!

Excellent, we normally don't take too much advice from tuk tuk drivers but this time I let my wife decide what we were going to do, we had a few packpacks and with the heat we succumbed to the driver's suggestion of taking us to Montana. Best decision! Room was excellent, location perfect and peaceful. Very friendly service. Also the lady of the house made us one of the better Currys we've tasted. 5th time in Sri Lanka. You don't really want to find yourself in the local pizza hut. All this at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended. We hired the motorbike from the house and visited the sacred city that way. All rather amazing.
