AOD reviews
12A small comment for my last comment. Actually the Digree is going fantastic. I know I complained about, not having class space to do work and stuff but now it's better than the last time. We have a floor where not only MGA but also VC students communicate and work together. Well done AOD
Aod is such a wonderful college; it has really supportive and understanding lecturers.provides you with a lot of opportunities that no other colleges in Sri Lanka can provide you with, and Aod has a lifestyle that no colleges offers.
Actually learned about lot of things but for MGA specifically, we don't have a separate classroom for us. We have been moving from room to room different days and we don't have the supplies for some projects so it's really hard to do things. And also they are not fixing the AC's in this place. I thought coming here will change what I think of MGA. Didn't got that feeling yet. We are paying alot for this program so it's ur job to give us a real feeling about what MGA is.
AOD is a place where I always dreamed of coming. I was a 13 year old girl where I badly wanted to be. Aod is the best place where u got amazing lectures who would support you in many ways.
Not worth the money and very good in robbing money from the students. So concerned about collecting the fee than anything else. Worst experience ever!
I joined AOD in July of 2021 through the institute's Fast Track Foundation program. Due to the country and the rest of the world still recovering from the COVID-19 Epidemic, I largely spent the first part of my Foundation online. Although I usually find online learning ineffective, The first few months I spent during this course taught me many things about the fundamentals of design and provided an insight into the varied degree programs offered by the College.
This experience was further enhanced when the campus resumed it's physical classes. During this period, we acquainted ourselves with staff and management, all pf whom are extremely accommodating and helpful to us students. The institute offers career guidance sessions, counselling, and most importantly a healthy learning environment for students to enjoy at their own convenience.
The degree prograns themselves are nothing to scoff at either. AOD offers 5 such bA programs for students to choose from; Interior Design, Fashion Marketing, Fashion Textile, Visual Communication, & Motion Graphics and Animation (the latter of which is the best one). Through workshops, day to day lectures and one on one feedback sessions the institutes tutors have proven time and time again that they are more than qualified to guide students through the 3 years they spend here on campus. Furthermore, even though one can only specialize in one degree programme, I have personally found that exposure to the other programmes, Visual Communication in particular, has assisted me in understanding myself as an animator, a designer and a person in general. This is made possible by the tight knit sense of community seen between students of every degree programme, and allows exposure into each student's own personal worls of design.
What holds me back from reviewing this college with 5 stars is the unfortunate matter of administration. There have been a handful of instances where we as students have been hindered because of a messy administrative structure. Small things such as late briefings on certain modules, miscommunication of information and the seemingly insignificant but vital lack of parking all stack up to pose as what I concur is the single fatal flaw of this campus.
However this does not fully detract from the experience here on campus. The people I've met and the things I've experienced are second to none anywhere else. The upcoming rise of AOD's Student Chamber proves to provide an even better and more interactive experience at AOD than ever before. If you're looking to complete your degree in design, in spite of its flaws, I cannot recommend AOD enough to new students. I truly believe this is one of the best learning experiences you will find in Sri Lanka.
The best place to get your first class degree in Visual Communication & Design. Consult thishara Ariarathne for further inquiries
The most terrible organization & management skills I have ever seen. Please invest on giving your staff (specially the big fair lady in glasses) some proper training or hire someone who can.
Too expensive. Some lecturers are rude. Charges penalty if you pay just a little bit late. Bad customer service. Sends the results late.
Great atmosphere, flexible and most importantly, has amazing lecturers who support the students from day 01 to achieve their best. The school also supports its alumni through various accelerators. Once you join Aod, you are forever a part of this big family!
AOD is such a wonderful and nice campus to learn designing. It has played an immense role in my life. As the training sessions and virtual workshops helped me to study and perform very well.
Don't study at AOD, if u fail final assignment of a year's project. You have re-do the year and pay same amount
