And after i enquier what happened now they said they wont transfer date and they wont give my money.

If you wish to do your exams here please do not select British Council. They charge exorbitant amounts of money from people and is not helpful with ridiculous regulations.

Terrible place and shameful that this centre represents for Cambridge and IELTS.

The library provides good service, but the high late submission charges can be a deterrent for users.

The people work here do not know about certificate attestation process and they just request for documents and each and every time we visit they want additional documents according to the person who stays in the counter.have to visit at least 4-5 times to get this done.one of the worst experiences ever.

Cool school, I liked teaching. Except for a couple of lazy teachers who just read from a piece of paper. Therefore, it is better not to take a couple of classes with unfamiliar teachers at once.

Ruin people’s ability to get a job overseas and cause poor mental health. I would recommend any other English test over this to get a more fair depiction of your ability to work as a health professional. If you are a student they will mark easier for you which means you can score 7.5. But a doctor with better English speaking ability more likely score 6.0 for speaking. Reading, writing and listening you will be able to pass and they will be accurate depiction of your ability as there is no bias from the Sri Lankan markers. However the speaking assessment you will have bias and it will depend on your luck of the marker’s inherent qualities.

If you are a health professional they will expect you to speak near fluent or fluent English as if it was your first language. I understand there must be a standard especially in healthcare.

But this is simply bias and money making greed. I know this as I work with lots of Indian and International doctors whom cannot speak fluent English in Australia, infact I can barely understand them, but they work without any issues. This is their SECOND language.

The Sri Lankan British council are much stricter and I believe there is some bias in their marking. My heart goes out to all the Sri Lankan doctors- do PTE or OET.

You cause more suffering than charity.

I had a very bad experience with British Council Sri Lanka.customer service officer at fron desk gave us completely incorrect information details.ask us to do payment 1st then will issue app.he said English course is very flexible and we can select class any day of week from 9am to 8pm from app.duration of class is 1.5 hrs.but once we checked app just 4 days and only 3 time slot for day onlu upto afternoon.no any classes Monday, Tuesday and Saturday and after 2pm of other days that classes available.we were under helpless situation and customer care officer does not have any options and ask us to adjust for they given
time table which is not practical for my daughter because she already having other deduction classes in the morning
finally after hudge argument I managed to convince the our difficulties and we were totally mislead by their customer care officer by giving us incorrect information before payment.only option is get refund payment and find a another course from other insitute.refund will take 28 days to transfer our account after approval
please be careful and I would never recommend British Council for English class.they play game behind their reputation.very poor customer care service and lack of attention after payment
no one replied e mails and very difficult to call too
keep long time hold when our call connected and no one aware clear direction too.

Absolute Joke of an organisation. Their exam officers have no understanding of anything such as deadline days. Because information is never given properly you will always end up paying more so prepare yourself before hand. Their days of ever becoming successful are far away. No organisation whatsoever customer care is what anyone would call useless.

I used to study there 10 years ago and I remember it being a wonderful institute with friendly staffs (especially the teachers). Today I went after a very long time to enquire regarding the IELTS classes since I didn't understand some of the information provided on their website. It was not a pleasant experience and I've no clue what the heck has happened to British Council over the past few years.

I went to their office and got a token for the consultation. The customer service provided was nearly comparable to any other government institution, as the person on the counter spoke in a rude tone. His responses were basically like, "look these details and stuffs from the website and don't come here to bother us". Eventhough I spoke politely during the entire time.

I am not exaggerating anything and I'm trying to keep it accurate. He answered all my questions, but not in a friendly manner with a rude tone which I've never experienced in any private organistaion and especially not from a highly reputed institute in Sri Lanka.

So I'd humbly request the BC administration to either request their staff to be more friendly and polite or kindly remove the word "friendly consultation" from their official Sri Lankan website.

I still have no clue why the service was not upto expected level. Was it because I just went there for inquiry and not gonna make any payment? Or does he have any issues with their management so he doesn't care about the customer satisfaction.

I wish I had asked for his name but I'll attach the photo of the token so that the BC administration may able to know about this and try to improve the quality of service if they care for their customer's opinion.

We went there in a lunch time so it took some time to talk them but overall experience was superb. Thay consulting everyone with patients and their administration was outstanding. And the code method for consulting was brilliant. Very safe place to go. Very well organized. Yet to experience the academics.

British Council Sri Lanka has a very poor customer service. You cannot count on the IELTS results they give. I got incorrect results for my IELTS exam that I had to make a payment again to get an enquiry on results (EOR) done. You have to wait 2,3 weeks even to get the correct results. Then they corrected it and asked me to come and collect the new result sheet like it’s my fault. They don’t send it by post like in the first place, so where ever you are, you need to visit their office. It is a very poor customer service specially for a fault they have done.
Meanwhile I did PTE and got the required results which is much more transparent and convenient. Based on what I’ve gone through I don’t recommend BC Sri Lanka to anyone as they don’t value the customers, but just the money they get.

Did my IELTS Listening, Writing and Reading on the 17th of August 2022 at 2pm and my husband did it last month (6th July 2022 at 1.30pm). It was very organized but both of us had severe problems with invigilators whispering behind us. It was very distracting and made focusing on reading very hard. Had to stick our fingers in our ears. If you are going to do your IELTS there, be aware of it. Possibly try to get a seat away from the registration desk. On the 17th the invigilators also made a fuss about candidates not bringing pens for the registration process. It is not requested if you are doing the computer-based exam but take one and go because you don't want to start with anxiety over something so trivial that should probably be provided by them. That being said British Council does provide the best IELTS services in Sri Lanka. The others pale in comparison, so go prepared
