Cargills Food City Express - Maharagama

This is an ideal place to fulfill your most of household needs at one place with friendly service and staff is always providing fantastic service for their customers. Most of their products are fresh and they provide Premium quality. Moreover, there are enough parking facilities are available.

STAFF HAS EXTREMELY POOR ATTITUDE
AND ORGANIZING OF BILLING COUNTERS WITHING THE PREMISES IS ZERO

A major supermarket in the town. This place is good go with family to shopping. Ques will not be long and waiting since there are few counters that can handle crowd in over crowded times.
The options for Vegetables and fruits are large and prices are reasonable. Parking space is not enough when in busiest times like Saturday and Sundays. Had to wait more than 15 minutes to find a parking space.

Poor customer service. Branch manager dont know how to deal with a customer. She is working like a owner of the foodcity.

Can find most of the grocery items at one stop, decent set up and spacious. Parking is available and can be quite difficult to manage loading goods on a rainy day.

Even good things can turn bad if management is not attended.
Let me tell you my experience. I saw a very good place, location, outside and 4+ review score when I entered here. But now the situation is worse.
Went to buy a cool milk product, some fruits etc. All diary products shelves are empty. None in cooled section. Photos will show you the quality of the fruits they had. All are rotten and didn't look good at all. Then still we found something for us and went to cashier.
There were 2 customers blaming them already. For being ultra slow. I had to wait 15 mins. That is the time trainee girl took to clear 2 customers infront of me. 1 of them only had a milk powder packet. Other one was not given his 10% discount for his card and cashier said that customer didn't ask for that. (Should he now?).
When I got my chance, she didn't know numbers in sinhalese and wanted to tell them in English. (Cargills, these are cashiers. Shouldn't you check whether they can understand numbers in sri lankan main language before anything else.).
I will update this if the situation will change in future. For now, it is a horrible experience

A spacious Supermarket well organized. Cargills is lucky to get that land in the heart of Maharagama town just opposite the bus terminus which is always populated. Nextdoor is KFC franchized by them n also the Cargills Bank ATM on the same premises.

Had to wait long time in the queue to get the payment done. May be due to covid precautions. Not a bad place for groceries.

Always busy which means their goods are in good standard and their cashiers are fast don't have to wait in line for long oh and they will always have something new in the fish market

Boralasgamuwa outlest of Cargills. As usual the layout and interior quality is not good (this is common across most of Cargills outlets across country).
The staff is friendly and provide great customer service.
The outlets offers convenient, large and well maintained parking lot.
The most important positive side is the location. The outlet os located in a prime spot (just after you passed Boralasgamuwa junction toward Dehiwela on Dehiwela Maharagama Road).
There are two alternative super markets (Laugh and Arpico) also located close by.

My most visited place for groceries and food items. They offer wide variety of discounts time to time. They now deals with electronic items too. As for services offered by staff, I would say mild. I couldn't see any positive nor negative critics about them. Due to cov conditions in country they uphold strict cov prevention protocols.

Economical supermarket and friendly staff. Only downside is parking space and located very central of the city.

Can buy almost all daily needs under one roof. Busy place. Fresh vegetables and fruits are available.

They need to get canned foods, like Canned fish, Canned Meat food also dry foods, Dal, Mongu, peas. There was a shortage of theses kind of items.

Small and cramped place, but all the usual products are available. Staff behaviour is a mixed experience. I go there mainly to buy liquor from the liquor store upstairs

The customer service of the phamacy is so poor. Hope the management would consider changing the staff members.

Crowded.poor arranggements.
Un satisfied with the staff, they maintain very poor customer relationship.compared to keels even verse.

Very bad service, only one staff at counter & no one is helping, manager is not available at counter. We had to wait over 15 minutes on line, this is not a super market style, I'de rather go to grocery shop & get a better service than this

Worst customer service I have ever seen before. Including the security lady at the front door.
Very disappointed.

Food city is very good but the pharmacy personal specially the new male staff member is very rude not polite at all
