The queuing system for seeing doctors is not transparent. Patients are admitted to doctors without order. There is no display of the order in which patients are encountered. Very Bad Service. Useless to come ontime to hospital.

One of the worst hospitals in Sri Lanka. The staff is barely educated in etiquette of handling patients but more educated in how to maximum charge a patient. Few months ago I went there with my aunt for bandaging a wound in her leg. They charged for everything. For example they charged us for a small blade that was used to cut the packaging for the gause and to cut the gause once it was wrapped around the leg. And they kept the blade afterwards. We were also charged for a betadine antiseptic pack which they used only about 1/3 of it when they could have gotten a smaller pack. And you guessed it, they kept the rest of the betadine.
I'm writing the review now, because we are fed up with lack of common decency of the staff. We visited a doctor here about one and a half months ago and due to issues with blood pressure the doctor urged us to visit him again in 6 weeks (we usually visit the doctor once every 3 month). Therefore we setup an appointment right after the last appointment in the hospital for next week and one of the staff today called can notified us that the doctor is going to be on holiday that day and gave us another date that is more than a month down the road. We explained to the staff the urgency of meeting the doctor within next week or this. But the staff just ignored and wouldn't even give any dates the doctor would be present in the hospital closest to next week. Tried calling the hospital again, but no one picks up the call except the voice messaging system.
Someday these people will face justice for how they treat people.

Very bad service.totally dissatisfied.we were came for doctor appointment for Dr. Prasad Katulanda. Time of arrival announced is 11.00am and he arrived only at 1pm.
2 hours delay and staff of the hospital is really bad. Delay of time even 45mins can bearable. But delaying two hours means big shot. We are paying lot for appointment and getting treat like this painful.this is first visit for this hospital and this doctor and will never come here. Disgusting!

Hospital alow Doctor to change the channeling order of patients.useless to come ontime to hospital, since all are changing as the personal contacts. No one concern about the waiting time of the patients. No value for the payments. No one to take responsibility. No one give acceptable answers. Totally disappointed about the reponse given by the hospital regarding the doctors misbehavior.

Please do not ever go to this hospital, they will exploit you to the last cent.fully money minded, useless staff.

MONEY IS NOT ALL THAT MATTERS IN LIFE. THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE WHO PROVIDE BETTER SERVICES WITH LOWER PRICE.

Useless hospital staff. No announcement of the doctor delay or anything. All nurses are sit around and having their usual chit chat and talk about their BF’s. ACs are not switched ON.
So pathetic service it has gone to. Though requested them to call the doctor and find out the ETA, they don’t bother even. We do understands that all doctors in Sri Lanka are like that. But hospitals should take care of the patients who are waiting. Terrible!
Oh BTw, this is for doctor Vajira Senaratne. 2 hours gone by, still no update.

Called ahead of time to check if Dr Resni Cassim is available. My wife who's been suffering for over a month goes to see him after work only to go there, wait one hour and then realise that he's cancelled the appointment as it's not worth him going down there since he didn't have enough appointments. He's one of hundreds of doctors that do this last minute cancelling of appointments when they find out that it doesn't generate enough income. Unethical, dishonest and an embarrassment to the medical profession.

Appointments can be made online or via phone for the different consultants. Very efficient booking system. Staff is helpful and efficient.

Has its own clinical lab for investigations with quality assurance certification. Results can be obtained quickly. Also has its own pharmacy which provides both prescription and OTC medication as needed.

There is a free car park behind the premises as well as parking is available (paid) along Norris Canal road.
The cafeteria is open throughout as well.

Dr. Prasad Katulanda, the best doctor for diabetes. He was able to recover my mother who was very weak because of diabetes. I highly recommend. CDEM staff is also very friendly.

This is the worst hospital experience I ever had. Today I visited this hospital to meet the Dr. Chathuri. I got no 3, last month (June 15) through echanneling and my given time is 4.15 pm. I came to the hospital at 4.00pm and they do not allow the patients with no and take the patients who came to the hospital through personal calls. I have to wait 2 hours than my given time. This is not ethical and, I hope echanneling also responsible for this bad behaviour. Please don't go this hospital any more.

Yesterday i had a consultation with Dr Manilka Sumanathilake. The nursing staff needs to be more proactive in calling out numbers and getting peoples body weight pressure and pulse. As i had to remind a nurse to do this after i waited for more than 1/2 hour. When i asked her to weigh me she asked me "didnt i weigh you" which clearly she diddnt.
They also dont call out numbers and i didnt know i was the next tomeet the doctor till my name was called out.

Poor cordination and service. I gave the sample around 12.00 p.m. And when I inquired how long would take for the result.they confidently said 45 mins.how ever by 12.40 a SMS received that the report can be collected.i was happy for a moment that they kept their promise. But when I ask the report they said they have not got it to the issuing counter and asked me to wait for a little while. Then I patiently waited and no one show up till 1.30 p.m. I was really frustrated and again I went to the issue counter and asked for the report.a different person was there in the counter and he did not properly listen to me what I was saying.he asked me to wait until the report is given. Then another lady who said there are some reports already came and to check it. Oh it was there lying on the table for so long no one even care about it.finaly I had to stay 1.5 hours to get the report. CDEM hospital please don't waste people's time like this.we know you all manage your work loads but still try to comfort and send your Customers early as posible if you feel we are your first priority.
Ultimately it was a bad experience.hope this review would help someone.

Don't go this hospital. I did go there appointment time 3,30 pm but doctor was come at 5.30 p.m. And doctor was check us at 8.30 p.m. Don't go this hospital really bad this is my 3rd time. If you go there you time is wasting try to another hospital.

I’ve visited here to consult Dr. Rezni Cassim several times. He is the best to consult for wounds (for diabetic patients).
The staff at the 2nd floor is quite good and they do their service well.
The telephone operator and the appointment recording person did few misses in two three times where I had to double check triple check when extra appointments are requested.
After about 9PM the general line is not answering so better to contact before that time.
Hospital space and car park space is limited so better to avoid crowded times.

Service is not satisfied because the Prof. Dr. P Katulanda doesn't come to the consultation on time. He is wasting our time to save his time. He might be a professional but whoever doesn't work on-time is not a professional. If we want to change the system, we need to start changing people's attitudes. In western countries, specially doctors who comes late has to pay the patient. This is not the first professional to do such thing but most of them are getting late.

As per my knowledge, this is the only medical center doing a covid 19 rapid antigen test, in colombo area, and the car park is also good,
