When anyone have to go to the Open University Of SriLanka, Nawala.from Kandy. You can follow these steps.
If You are going by train.
1) Get down at Maradhana Station.
2) take No "176" hettiyawatgtha bus.
So you can get down infront of the Campus.

One guy who were in security is so so rude. I came for a get information about courses but he yelled at me. I don't know his name. But I saw he treat very rude to other people also. Please remove these kind of people who don't know to behave. I was really disappointed as my first impression of University. He was at Main Gate on Nawala Road entrance. 2023/08/23

One of the best options you can have after your school, if you dont have enough marks to attend your dream university, and if you didnt born with a silver spoon, this is the place to go. Offers distance learning courses which make this more convenient for employees to continue their studies.normally you can stretch a course up to 12years.
Chargers depends on the amount of subjects you going to take but it will be less than 130000 per year (@2023) even if you take all the subjects you can. So 5 stars for offering lowest budget high quality service.

It is unique within the Sri Lankan national university system for being the only university to offer programs of study leading to certificate, diploma, degrees and postgraduate degrees up to PhD level through the Open and Distance Mode of Learning.

This is not about the university's facilities and the reputation. This is about the administration.

There is the worst administration in here. Staff members do not know how to treat their students. Actually, they do not know how to talk to another person in an official way. Although they are government workers they do not do their work properly. They never answer phones. Nonacademic staff members do not know even their job responsibilities. They give different conclusions when we asked a question from them. I think this will lead to damage to the university’s reputation. The relevant authorities should take necessary actions regarding these matters. Because this is the only government university that provides distance learning education in sri lanka.

I got my Bachelor of Science degree from the Open University and I had only 2 "S" passes for Advanced Levels. My elder sister at that time was already following a degree programme here. Then she guided me to join this amazing university. Your first few years will be really hard here since they are only providing a few lectures and you have to study by yourself and with your friends by supporting each other by sharing knowledge. Of course you will get all the course materials and there will be more examples to guide you through the correct workflow. Also you will be able to find past papers for working on before you face the examinations. So don't give up until you get into the track.
