We only had a meal here and was the best food we have had in Hikkaduwa by far excellent service and beautiful clean too highly recommend

An absolute must when in Hikkaduwa. The location is gorgeous overlooking the lake, allowing a cool breeze through the rooms and restaurant. Rooms are gorgeous, property is very well maintained and very clean. They have the BEST rice and curry! And if you’re interested in something other than traditional curry, their food selection is impressive and delicious.

We've been twice for food at the Asian Jewel. Our first order was battered prawns' chips & salad. Shepherds pie with boiled veg & gravy.
Second order was the Mega English breakfast & Sri Lankan Omelette. Both visits the food has been to a very high standard and very tasty. It's a little off the beaten track but well worth going. The setting is beautiful' overlooking the Lagoon. Whether you're looking for a taste of home (UK) or traditional Sri Lankan food' this place is a must. The staff are all very polite and attentive.

We ate at the restaurant on the last day of our 2 week trip. It wasn’t busy as it was the off season’ It was probably the best curry we had in our whole trip. Definitely recommend!

If you want to wake up to the sound of birds in paradise, instead of crashing waves then look no further than The Asian Jewel Hotel. Dale and his staff are great hosts. The food is top notch and the pool is very relaxing.

Very nice place, restaurant for have some fresh food and very tasty from England owner Dale, he running hotel here, very pretty place. Many English people talking costumers here.
Every Sunday they have special dish at 3: 30 pm.

If you like English good old food without a shadow of a doubt the best place in hikkadua, from home made chips, to full English to Shepard's pie, also amazing views friendly staff and an amazing pool

Beautiful hotel clean comfortable, the staff is very polite, the kitchen is very tasty you will lick your fingers and not only, the bar is the best!

Still one of the best boutique hotels in Hikkaduwa, also operates as a restaurant but call to make a booking if it’s during the off season. Food is excellent offering a range of local and European dishes. Nicely located just far enough from the beach for peace and quiet but only a 5 minute tuktuk race away if you want. Staff have always been and continue to be excellent.

We came here for the restaurant. Very polite staff and welcoming atmosphere. Food is awesome and every tourist must try this.
We even saw local people coming here as they know this amazing place.
We came here two times. Special Sri Lankan rice and curry's is a must try. Be aware that you have to order it in advance. If you still have place in your stomach, tuna steak and brownie is 10/10!
The only drawback of this place is that it gets a bar so high for food in Sri Lanka. We were not able to find anything better in 18 days.

We have just come home to UK after a month in Sri Lanka.
We spent the last 10 days at Asian Jewel, and it was a lovely way to finish off the holiday.
Dale who is English is very helpful and accommodating and goes out of his way to make sure you have a great time.
The staff are all great and always smiling.
We told Dale we loved crab but couldn't find a good place to get what we wanted, he said "no problem I will get it sorted and a couple of nights later had the best meal of dressed crab, salad and chips, also Jumbo prawns.
The pool is so inviting and would highly recommend his sunday roast too.

Fab little hotel. Really lovely staff who spoke good English, immaculately clean rooms, very well maintained.
Pool area is beautiful, all the sunbeds were ready for guests each morning with mattresses and towels. Even a little bell to call the staff if you want to order a drink at the pool. Drinks and food very reasonable and excellent quality. Best place in town for proper English breakfast, with decent sausages and the works. Many people come to Asian Jewel just for meals as the food is that good.
It is in a peaceful location overlooking a river. We loved watching a big flock of eagles flying above while in the pool. First time staying here but will definitely be back.

An incredibly welcoming environment where Dale and his fantastic Team go above and beyond expectations. The Food is amazing and the service delivery by the Staff all add up to an incredible experience.

Asian Jewel is a little off the beaten path but well worth the effort of taking your toes out of the sand for an evening of delectable delights. Asian Jewel stands apart from all other restaurants in Hikkaduwa, offering not only the best local curry but also English pub style dishes expertly prepared to your liking.

As a side note to the passage, I consider myself a hard liquor connoisseur, and the Asia Jewel Margarita is one of the best to be found anywhere in the world.

I'm grateful to have found this wonderful Asian Jewel restaurant. Such a unique and cozy place. The food was outstanding! The service was very attentive and had a wonderful evening. I could write more, but it's best to try it yourself. Highly recommend!
