BELLA 69 Seafront Cabana

Dirty and overpriced place with big construction work going on right and left on the beach (just 10 meters away from the place, the pictures were made from the terrace of the beach cabana). Inside it is really hot, even at nighttimes it is that hot that you couldn't find any sleep. The cabbana has a roof of corrugated iron and there is no shadow at all. So no surprise that it is even hotter inside then outside.
The food was bad and the bathroom was so dark but you could see a lot of dirt and hairs lying around from the guests wand if you are still unsure look at the replies ho stayed there before. I had several cockroaches inside bathroom and bedroom at nighttime, so better bring a flashlight. No place for the clothes, no decorations.
During nighttime there is a bar directly next to the house with bright blue light and loud music until 3 am (see pictures) in the morning, so no chance to hear the sound of the ocean: (
Hard, moldy and uncomfortable mattress. No privacy at all as there are no curtains and everyone can enter from the beach or the street side. There is only a little sign that says that this is a private property. When traveling around at Sri Lanka that there are hardly any villas without a fence or a wall around the property.
Unfriendly owner, they are only after the money. No welcome drink no nice words. Breakfast was pretty poor and not good. It came on unclean plates.
Please be aware that some of the good reviews here are from the owners as the owner's name is also ** but maybe this is just a coincidence

If you don't believe me, my pictures and my review: search for "Tranquil Garden Beach Cabanas" on Google and read the reviews - you can see on their website that's the same owner ;) or you can just follow the best review here with the biggest amount of pictures. The place is even located at the same address. I feel sad I didn't do much research before I went to this place.

Such a wonderful place ️ my boyfriend and I stayed at Bella 69 Cabana more than 2 weeks and used the place as a base for our trips around the west-south part of Sri Lanka. Walking up in the morning and being already on the beach, but also having coconut trees for nice shade, it’s the start of the day I was hoping for. The cabana is close to the train station, where you could always catch a tuk tuk and it’s situated less than 5 driving minutes from the city center from Hikkaduwa, the coral beach and the turtle beach. But as it’s not in the most crowded part of Thiranagama, that’s why it’s very calm and safe.
The host was very nice and super helpful, even helped us to organize some cool trips.

We definitely can recommend this place for a nice relaxing holiday!
