2They double booked us, which was a terrible experience. Although we had paid over $4,000 and had confirmation from the owner last May and Trip Advisor that the booking was confirmed. The night before our arrival when we were in Sri Lanka we contacted the owner and she claimed to have no knowledge of our booking and had booked another family. Initially she told us she would book us for part of our stay in a nearby hotel she owns, then that became a surf shack, then finally another beach house, but really do not engage. She was rude, passive aggressive and also when we finally saw the house it is on a main road right near the main train line. We found a much better place down the coast for a bit more money at Nisala Villas which was heaven and the owner couldn't have been helpful in what was a stressful time for my family.
Loved our stay at Elephant Palace - 5 star food and care and with direct beach access was great for teens and the surf school next door
