Galle Bus Stand reviews
22The Galle bus stand is the longest bus stand in Sri Lanka. Also it has two floors. It has a supermarket, Salon, Restaurant and Sarasavi bookshop etc on the upper floor. We can see the Galle international cricket ground and other good places to view when we climb to the upper floor. This bus stand was built after the tsunami in 2004
Galle bus stand is the longest Bus stand in Sri Lanka. The bus stand was terribly damaged by Tsunami. You can get bus from here to long and short ways. Express way busses also there. Railway staion is next to the bus stand. It's much easier for passengers. Fly over bridge interconnected the railway station and bus stand.
Well, a bus station is just like a bus station. A little patience and you will understand who is going where.
Locals usually help you figure out directions.
Everything is simple and clear, if you are very slow to approach the barkers (conductors), tell them where you need to go and they will show you the right bus
The Longest bus stand in the country. There are many routes start from this location. There are many shops located on second floor.
Visited this station a couple of months ago. We tried to find out the schedule of buses to leave Galle for Colombo Airport (Bandaranaike). Buses to the airport do not go from this station.but from a separate platform on another street near.closer to Galle Fort. We were told this at the information desk at the station, but we waited for someone to appear there for 40-60 minutes. It's good that we came for information, and not immediately leave. This station has 2 floors, on the top floor there are shops, food, a hairdresser, an electronics (telephone) store.
Nice place to work on. There is rubbish lying around, a lot of people and little information. We found everything, but it takes time, which is not always available. In general.many buses come here from different cities. It's good that you can hide under the roof when it rains.
Easily to find.little durty, but ok.have proper woshroom facilitis without bad smell.can easyly find the bus whenever ou want to find.
Walk through the station and look for your bus. The conductors shout where they are going and invite everyone. If you don't know your bus, tell the conductor where you need to go. At the station itself, no one needs to pay anything, pay the conductor on the bus when you have already started. Good luck)
We got the bus from the bus stand to Hikkadua. Although the bus station was crowded we managed to get the right bus with some help. The fare was 100 rupees. Given the journey time and the distance the trip was really good value. Bus was not too crowded. Definitely an experience.
There have fast and nice service. Ground floor have 2 Shops on both sides. 1st floor have nice view of Galle town and there have sarasavi book shop, restaurant, saloon, super market and many more shops. There surrounding ara crowded. Front road in bus stand have traffic lights and yan cross the road easy and safety. It's good bus stand but there have some thieves and bad peoples, So be careful with your materials and money
This bus stand is always crowded; almost every kind of shop is around this bus stand. Hotels, restaurants, pharmacies, shopping malls, bookshops etc. The washroom room is also in good hygiene. Comparing this with the Matara bus stand, the Matara bus stand is way better than the Galle bus stand (except the washroom).
Its a bus station, there are some shops in the small shopping mall offering little variety, a typical Sri Lankan, that is not very competitive in price
Formerly a good place. But now the maintenance and cleanliness is zero. Here the bridge is dilapidated. Toilets are dirty.
Asking local for the right bus for my destination. The man took me to the correct stand. The conductor made sure i got of at correct stop. All so very helpful
Nothing special just typical bus stand, bus lanes are well organized, Little bit crowded on working days
This is the longest bus station in Sri Lanka. Busses are available to all major destinations across Sri Lanka. And one of the busiest bus stations in the country. Anyway it should be maintained better. Public toilets here are unclean and smell bad.
Galle central bus station is the main point of galle. Srilanka. You can find all buses to go any destination. Like matare mirissa etc. To go mirissa you have to take matare bus. Mirissa is nice Attractive place in galle.srilankan
Can find buses to many areas all over the country. And normal, semi-luxury, A/C and high way buses to mainly Colombo, Kaduwela, Kandy and Kadawatha. Has a direct access fly over to galle railway station. And can find food shops, Sathosa food city, commubications, phone shops, and bookshops and galle central bus station office at 1st floor
Nothing special.just a typical bus stand.gents washrooms are not that much dirty for an emergency and they are usable somehow.
At the time of opening, this was the best in down south. There were televisions with time schedules, free wifi. But now, cannot see at least one television or CCTV working well
Sathosa, sarasavi bookshop, resting area, basic food item sellers upstairs.men & women toilets available. Noisy at times.
