Beautiful lagoon, amazing family owned small local business, absolute hidden gem away from all the tourist traps. 10/10! Go early to avoid the heat

Totally recommend the Lagoon Safari tour! The guys are professional in finding the animals on the branches from 50 meters away. Amazing wildlife! So relaxing, peaceful and quiet surrounding. The whole family is very nice, we even got a cup of tea at the end of our tour. It is worth trying it whether you would like kayaking or chilling on a catamaran. Best!

A great experience from the beginning till the end.a warm welcome from the guide as well as his family. Started off the day very nervous as i have never been on kayaking before but now cant wait to go back cuz of the comfort provided, and for sure will be back.kind and friendly guide, he also took amazing pictures that we appreciate a lot.and the tour ended with a nice warm Tea from that lovely auntie.highly recommend, safe and comfortable. A massive thank you to Lahiru and his family for taking my friend and I fishing on the lagoon last night. It was a beautiful evening, and they ever cooked up the fish I caught! Also the photos taken during the activity are so special. We can’t wait to visit again some day!

Safari is good. But the boat organising people robbed the money from us.
Try to forget that day.

It was an amazing experience, to go on a kayak for the first time and I’m so glad we chose Hikkaduwa Lagoon Safari and Adventure Kayaking for that. The guide was super friendly and he showed us the most beautiful sceneries. He even captures really nice pictures during the whole tour! Also, I have to mention that it was very budget friendly. Highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to try kayaking!

We got the chance to visit this beautiful place. It’s a eco friendly beautiful area which maintains well by the villagers.

The lagoon safari trip was such a wonderful experience. Lahiru and his dad run this family owned business and sustainability is a key factor for them. That’s why we went with a traditional catemeran without an engine on the salt water lake. We were the only two that booked the tour that day which was great. We saw so many unique animals (Varans, eagles, huge bats, different birds) and Lahiru explained the whole ecosystem. 100% recommend this tour, it’s so peaceful and beautiful there and Lahiru and the whole family are extremely kind.

Really good hospitality. Old couple and there son is very kind to us. Really nice place and its my first time. Worth going since its cheap and we spend almost three hrs untill sun goes down.

Beautiful tour of the lagoon, the traditional catamaran really allows you to appreciate the peaceful surroundings and get a close up view of the wildlife without disturbing them. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and showed great respect and care for the local ecosystem. 2 hours well spent.

Had the most wonderful lagoon safari with the most welcoming family. They went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and happy. They even took us to a temple to meet a Buddhist monk because I told them I would be interested to go.
At the end of the safari, we were taken back and given a home cooked traditional Sri Lankan dinner and dessert. It was so tasty and definitely made with love. We had the best day ever and we can't recommend this family enough!

Did an evening lagoon tour today and I absolutely loved it, so peaceful and quiet, it was really enjoyable! We have seen lots of different birds, varans, flying foxes and a variety of plants, everything was well explained by our lovely tour guide and I feel like I have learned quite a lot on this tour! Absolutely recommended for everyone who loves nature and wildlife:)

Hade a wonderfully relaxing morning paddling around this beautiful lagoon. Feet in the water watching the wildlife. Thank you so much to the father and son paddlers. Word of advice take a hat or umbrella on sunny days, we went on an overcast day with spots of rain and it was perfect.
