Friendly staff and a menu of local cuisine. We loved the Brinjal Moju (aubergine based dish) and the homemade Roti. Thank you for good and fairly priced food.

Food was great. The staff are really friendly. Had prawns curry and roti, they ask you your spice level, I wanted spicy and got exactly what I was after.

The owners of the restaurant are very kind & the food is delicious!:) We asked them to bring us a not too spicy rice & curry and they respected our preferences. They also gave us great recommendations for choosing the meal.

Local and affordable food in the very expensive Galle Fort. Very friendly and kind owners and the food was delicious.:)

We have been traveling through India and Southeast Asia for months and now had one of the most delicious evenings here.
The food at this unassuming restaurant is really excellent, so we'll come back tomorrow to try some more dishes before we'll move on.

We Had wonderfully delicious meals of soups, prawn curry and roti, seafood kattu, avocado salad and seafood noodles
Everything was fresh and extremely tasty.

Delicious food. Super friendly older couple of owners. The food is fresh, local and typical. I loved the chicken kottu - brinjol moju - the curry - the lime juice with mint, perfectly balanced. I would go back in a heartbeat

We were a group of 4 visiting for dinner last night and can't rate it highly enough! The service was amazing, the drinks were cold and refreshing and the food was fantastic! We had soups, salads, curries, roti and noodles and they were all soo tasty! Definitely stop in for a meal if you're in the area!

Had a phenomenal lunch at Imals. I ate late so I was the only one in the restaurant and was able to watch the chef cook my meal. I loved the Brinjol Moju and pol Roti. The owner & his wife were extremely friendly and I loved my home cooked meal here!

Sometimes I am surprised. Place doesn't look like Michelin 5 star restaurant but. This word "but" is importent. Everything was fresh, tasty and much more then we could eat. Owner after our order hopped on scooter and within few minutes came back with fresh products for our meal. It was funny and that means respect for customer. We highly recomended this place.

Great iced lime tea, We tried Brinjol Moju and Prawn polpittu - both were very good.
The owner is very nice.

Really delicious food available for a reasonable price. Dine in area is not very modern and spacious. There is an outdoor table also available.

Süßes Restaurant mit nettem Besitzer:)

Wir hatten einmal den gebratenen Reis mit Gemüse, dann ein Curry mit Gemüse und das Gericht, dessen Namen ich jetzt vergessen habe (Iwas mit gebratenen Auberginen und Zwiebeln). Es war wirklich lecker, aber leider sind wir am letzten Tag unserer Reise schon sooo verwöhnt, dass wir schon öfters noch besser gegessen haben - obwohl das hier auch lecker war:)
zu dem Auberginengericht habe ich mir noch den Reis dazu bestellt - das würde ich dann auch so empfehlen, sonst wird man davon nicht satt.

Der Preis war auch voll in Ordnung, also würden wir trotzdem empfehlen:)

Small restaurant in centre of Galle old Dutch ford. Great SriLankan food. The waiter was very nice and provided a great service. We really enjoyed the food. Thank you

Really good authentic food. Waiter was very friendly and smiley. Would recommend to anyone who wants an experience outside of the tourist trap restaurants while staying in the Fort.

Also had electricity during the daily power cuts which is a bonus!

Powered up food despite power cuts!

We always try and eat at local places as tends to be where you find the best food. Imal's didn't disappoint! Great prices, friendly welcome, yummy Sri Lankan food! We had Kottu, curry, roti and (I really recommend) the Brinjal Moju. Then curd to finish!

They also had power and fans on despite these awful power cuts so head there even if it is super dark everywhere else!

Amazing and authentic Sri Lanka cuisine, not as expensive as other places in Galle and with really big portions.
