Induruwa Sea Turtle Conservation Center reviews
26It's an amazing place! We truly enjoyed the whole experience. They have 3 types of turtles and also some handicap turtles which were rescued and they take good care of th. Unfortunately they don't have much financial support however everyone is dedicated to what they do there. I guess the highlight of the tour is to release the baby turtles into the ocean the cutest thing ever. We were also lucky enough to see how the baby turtles were coming out of the egg it was amazing to watch. It's a must have experience while in Bentota!
The experience was exceptional. The reserve has taken many efforts and care for new turtle hatchlings and ones that were found with deformities, injuries or incapacitated. Releasing the new hatchlings into the see was a very heart warming moment ️
Lovely!
Watched some rare collection of turtle!
They are doing amazing work to protect the nature!
The most missing thing I noticed, they do not have animal health doctor to give qonded or sick turtle! The authority has to work out in this area immediately.
Needs to be maintained properly. A huge facility. We saw many turtles, the ticket price for local is 300 LKR.
Does what the place is advertised to do.
You have to admire the work that these guys are doing. There are some turtles on tanks who cannot be put back into the ocean due to various injuries. They also nurture turtle eggs and make sure the turtle babies reach the ocean safely.
The turtles are amazing. The guys who work there really love their job and also have fresh coconut water. They are not supported by government or any other organizations. Please help them with some money. The cause is more than worthy. Thanks.
A very deserving charity keeping the hatchery of 4 different type of turtles
Guests are able to handle the small turtles and see a couple of albino turtles which are cared for life, because they would be easy targets for sharks.
A good effort to conserve turtle population. It's a small turtle hatchery. Even turtles with deformities or those injured by fishing nets and no longer able to survive the wild, are taken care of.
A small place, like all the other ones on this road.
Very clean. We were not allowed to touch the turtles.
A place where you can spend 10 mins to look at the beautiful creatures.
The place itself is not unique compares to the others around.
Gain more knowledge with kids.
Very friendly.
Nice place to visit.
Help them to save more sea turtels for our next generation.
Must place to visit with kids, entrance is free you can donate a small sum of you wish, but not a must
Good explanation given by the guide! They are doing a worthy cause. Make sure to pay a visit and make a donation for them to carry out the conservation on a larger scale.
Very good idea. Well-run business. This is a kind of ‘’care home’’ for turtles. All turtles have perfect living conditions there. In March 2017, I saw an albatross turtle there, which in nature would not have a great chance of survival due to the whiter shade of his body. I bought a bowl with small turtles (approx 20 toddlers) for my wife. Next, she released them at sunset. These little tiny creatures quickly ran into the ocean towards their destiny. It is a really good idea to visit this place and buy a bowl with small turtles. I recommend a visit.
Fantastic place where you can see baby turtles and know more about turtles life Great place for kids and adults must to visit place
We really enjoyed the place! The guy who runs it gave an explanation about how turtles are born and released into the wild. There were around 8-10 adult turtles and many small ones. You can touch all of them.
The entrance fee is 500 roopies per person and you can also buy some souvenirs to support the project.
Good idea to take care of eggs and hurt turtles. But 2 grown up turtles stay for years in pools maybe 4x the turtle's size, where the water is changed once a week - this is more prisonlike than species-appropriate. Isn't there any regulation of animal welfare? If they could use the entrance fee to improve conditions for the inhabitant turtles, it would be worth the price.
The best place for watching Sea Turtle and best care of animal. Interesting is releasing baby turtle. Highly recommend this project. Good job gays. Good luck. SanjeeHome. Bentota.
First of all they start to collect money of you. The y can't tell you that much about turtles because I think they don't know that much. Kind of not professional.
And my guide went always away to Yount money out of the donation box and talked to other people. Also they allow everybody to touch the turtles, take them out of the water, so they get stressed. I definitely can't recommend that one.
Very nice location and friendly people who take care of the sea turtles. There is a hatchery and nursery for the eggs, new hatched small and invalid bigger ones. Their activity is highly appreciated. I'm sorry that the invalid adult ones has too small pool only. Need government support to build some bigger ones in order not to feel themselves as a bird ín a small cage.
Good variety in turtle species, though only one or two turtles per species. But worth a visit. Ticket price LKR 500 per person
