Insight Resort

We liked everything! Many thanks to the staff! We stayed for a week, celebrated a birthday, and gave him a beautiful cake. Nice beach, a pier that protects from the waves and you can safely swim! There were surfers behind the pier, watching them every morning. Sun loungers and towels are available. Chipmunks who are almost not afraid of people. The pool is clean. The restaurant has pleasant live music in the evenings. Excellent breakfasts. Nice room with ocean view, cleaned every day.
The hotel you want to return to, thank you again for our wonderful vacation!

Great hotel in Ahangama. About 45 mins drive from Galle. There are 2 types of rooms, standard and deluxe. The rooms are so clean have good Aircondition. While the rooms all come equipped with hot water, safe, tv, AC & balcony.
Great hotel staff, well trained and polite.
The staffs are so respectful and friendly.
We got a welcome drink and a free Neck and shoulder massage while we were waiting for our room.
The hotel is just beside surf spot. Because of the reef it’s softening the impact of waves as they hit the shore. Beyond the reef are some of the best waves for surfing. Photo included. Also the hotel has a very nice pool and beach in front.
The food was awesome. The buffet in Saturdays and Sundays. There were many varieties of food On the A La carte menu. The food is fresh and tasty.pastas, meat dishes and their specialist rice and curry with seafood. We had the prawn curry with rice. Best Sri Lankan style prawn curry we tasted. Worth dropping in for just that. Large servings.

The property is super Clean. The food is fresh, simple, and tasty.pastas, meat dishes and their specialist rice and curry with seafood.are yumm.evening BBQ is a hit and the cool surf spot too.

Highly recommended Hotel. If you want to have a staycation, i will highly recommend this hotel. The reception staff is very kind and respectful. The cleanliness if the hotel and its very peaceful to stay. Hands down for a good hospitality service.

Amazing hotel! Manager and staff are fantastic and the location is amazing in town and right in front of marshmallows surf spot.
Rooms and facilities are brilliant too, as well as the restaurant (get the bindi masala it's amazing!)

Overall simply amazing!

We went there for dinner because the place looked nice and we wanted to try something else than our (very good) hotel cuisine. Comments about food here were pretty bad but we gave it a chance. When we arrived most of the guests of the hotel were heading outside for dinner (though the storm) and it really made us hesitate. But after hearing that most of the dishes we wanted were unavailable we headed back home!
But the place looks nice, so I guess the hotel is good spot. Modern furniture and nice a pool area.

We went for lunch in the off season, ordered seafood fried rice, it was really not up to the standard. Ordered warm brownies for desert. The brownies were not microwaved, had to ask the waiter to microwave and serve again.

Do not recommend for dining

Called in on my travels up and down the coast a few times, menu is varied and well priced, good food & drinks menu, the red Thai vegetable curry is beautiful, with a selection of 2 sides also makes for a good meal at a cheap price. Staff are super friendly, and the view is simple beautiful, the breeze of the Indian ocean here is so nice whilst you dine indoors or out.

Awsome Location and staff extremely friendly but hotel policies are too strict they don't even allow you to take a beach towel out of the property and food needs to improve a lot

I stayed a total of two weeks in an ocean front room. The view is amazing! Especially if you surf! There’s two surf spots right in front of the hotel. The one on the left is a shortboarding break, while the one to the right is called Marshmallows and is good for longboarding and is beginner friendly. A third spot about 20 minutes by paddling to the right is my favorite break called Sticks. It has more punch than Marshmallows.

The beach right in front of the hotel is really clean and almost always empty. The water is so clear and clean too and good for swimming. During low tide you can walk along the beach to the left for about a kilometer. Early mornings and late afternoons you will see fishermen on sticks - a fishing technique unique to Sri Lanka.

The room I was staying in was spotlessly clean. The bathroom was spacious and comes with a rain shower with really good water pressure. Towels are fresh and really good quality. The furniture is a bit old but kept really clean and functional. I’ve read negative comments about this which I think are unjustified. For the price I paid per night I think everything is really worth it. And if modern furnishings are very important to you then stay at the Marriott in Weligama and pay 4 times as much.

Overall my stay at Insight is really amazing! I traveled solo but never felt lonely because everyone is just so friendly! I can go anywhere in the hotel and just start a conversation with any of the staff! I felt so at home the whole time. Will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Sri Lanka.

Nice location and view. Clean beach and its very safe. Rooms are also clean and comfortable. Foods are not much delicious and less value for money. Staff is very friendly and had a good service.

Really sweet hotel. We loved the cleaniness of the place and well as the staff and service was very friendly & courteous.
We love the cross-eyed pool boy Wawak - he is so nice to us every day. Location is also great, right at the Beach.
Breakfast is a perfect mix of western and local food. Very yummy. Keep it on

Very nice stay in this hotel!
Almost everything was positive. It was clean, big rooms, nice personal (especially Dayal and his team at the restaurant and breakfast).
The only points to improve are the wifi and the food at the restaurant could be better.

Very nice stay, we were sad to leave. The hotel is right next to the ocean, got it's own small beach. The views are amazing, everything is clean, food is tasty and the stuff is super friendly and helpful. Shops and food places are just outside the gate. We definitely recommend you to check it out.

We went for a dinner to the Insight resort.we bought two naasi goreng rice for our parents. Actually it was tasteless.and we took chocolate brownies as our desserts and it was like expired. The food was so bad. And there were lot of mosquitoes in the dinning area. Felt so bad. Never going to visit this place again.
