Isle of Thalpe Hotel

We were here in August. Great hotel for your money!
The location is suitable for those who want to get away from the noise, people and the city.
The cleanliness of the territory is monitored, but sometimes garbage floats on the beach, but this is a big problem in Sri Lanka and the hotel is not to blame.
The rooms are clean, a very comfortable bed, new air conditioning and their own cooler with drinking water, which is a big plus. There was always hot water.
The room is humid, but this is due to the fact that the ocean is 100 meters away.
Breakfast is good, they serve eggs, toast, fresh fruit.
The staff is attentive and responsive. Always help in any matter.

Lovely place to be right on the beach with a great place to swim. Tasty food and friendly staff. A hidden gem!

I just checked out, with tears in my eyes and immense nostalgia, I stayed in this wonderful place for 6 days and it was enough to leave me a beautiful memory, the room is very large with a small kitchen, bedroom with huge bed and a bathroom, very clean and welcoming, 15 meters away from the sea, you practically walk out of the room and you're directly on the sea, magnificent! The managers are extremely kind and helpful people, we have always had lunch in the structure by the sea, the cuisine is excellent, if you ask for rice with fish he will ask you what kind of fish you prefer and he will cook you an exceptional dish every time! We were satisfied for any request, it really felt like being in the family, and we fell in love with them, like the dogs and squirrels that kept us company every day, wandering around. I can only give a 5-star review and I hope to go back one day, go there you will regret it!

Our stay in Isle of Thalpe was absolute brilliant. We stayed in one of the three sea view rooms, which are very spacious with their own patio and living room. It's actually more like an apartment with a couch, flat screen TV, fridge, kettle, sink and water dispenser. All nicely decorated with some colorful touches. You have an amazing view from your room or patio toeards the water. I loved hearing the ocean all day and night. The staff is super friendly and attentive and keeps the place and the rooms very clean. The beds are really comfortable and have perfectly working mosquito nets. There are nice wooden cloths racks and gear mirrors in the sleeping room. If you need, there is AC, but we were always good with the fast spinning but silent fans in both rooms. The location is absolutely fantastic, basically on the beach, with a private garden and two outdoor showers. It's not too far from Unawatuna, you'd walk there easily. Sunsets are stunningly beautiful and swimming is a bliss all day long, especially at high tide. You can lay on sun chairs at an elevated level on the little wall or directly on the beach. There are some other restaurants around, also a few local spots and fruit stalls. But the manager and chef cooks delicious food tailored to your personal taste and you can eat in the restaurant or even on the beach. Bathrooms are good standard and water pressure is great. WiFi works will and is incredibly fast. I also saw the backpacker room which is small but okay to sleep in. You can still use a communal kitchen area and sit outside on couches. We absolutely loved our stay and can highly recommend Isle of Thalpe.

Okay staff. Not value for what you will pay. The rooms are not very modern and a bit scary sometime. There are a bit smell. The electricity went off the whole morning we wanted to checkout so no proper water to take a shower. The staff didn’t want to responsible for what happened. The breakfast is $8 and not even that good. Try to stay in Galle for better accoms.

Ein kleines sehr angenehmes sauberes Hotel mit eigenem Strand. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich u Essen gab es noch Wunsch, ich war sehr zufrieden und kann es beruhigt weiter empfehlen.

Not a good and beautiful place as it is in the pictures. But the staff is friendly and helpful.
