Kabalana Villa

Very nice and lovely place, with good staff and very frendly owner. Tasty food, good beach for children not far from the villa. Family friendly

My family and I greatly enjoyed our eight nights at Kabalana Villa. We refuse to take a dangerous vaccine so we were forced to quarantine. We were very glad we chose Kabalana Villa for that quarantine.

The best part about Kabalana Villa was the sensible approach to Covid-19. The owner, son, and staff, had a level headed approach to things Covid related. For this we were so grateful. Our eight days did not seem like a quarantine. For this reason we highly recommend Kabalana Villa

The villa is owned by a kind upper, middle age, gentleman. His very capable son does much of the management, and operation of the villa. Both are a pleasure to be around and know fairly good English. There are also several other staff who always did there best to serve us and make us feel at home. One of the staff (18 yrd.) won the confidence of out 10 month year old daughter. She was happy in his arms.

We had a large room on the top (forth) floor. Our view was of rural Sri Lanka. Once I even saw a flock of five peacocks. There was often a breeze blowing so we turned off the air conditioning and opened the windows for the entire week.

The downsides were few and small. I wouldn’t mention them accept that I like to give a full picture.
1. We had our laundry done once by the staff but the price wasn’t posted so we didn’t know what it was costing. We did the rest of our laundry in the bathroom sink for that reason.
2. The large curtains had a backing on them that the sun rays has reduced to a powdery substance. When we opened or closed the curtains we had to be careful to not touch the backside of the curtains.
3. There is a 10% service charge above the stated price. This was a surprise. I didn’t realize the Sri Lankan Government charges a ten percent tax on services. However, the other Level 01 Safe & Secure Hotels were much more expensive than Kabalana Villa so even with the service charge we felt as though we had received a fair price.

We are very happy we chose this Level1 hotel for our quarantene. Staff makes everything to make you feel home and accomodate you. Nice pool and mango trees around the property. Rooms are clean and meals are freshly home made and super tasty!

Kabalana villa close to beach and restaurants. You can reach to Weligama and Galle with tuc tuc easily. Swimming pool size enough and bot much crowded.
Room cleaning is good, complimentary water and cofee.
Internet access okay.
Price performance is good.

Good place. With green and beautiful yard.
Personal is very friendly and kind. They try to serve you best.

Rooms were clean and comfortable. With air conditioning and wifi.

Meals were great, different local and european cosine.

Good atmosphere, wicked owner ripped me off proper, on top of that was not given the promised meals which was horrible and tea served was the worst in life, seemed like we were the only people unfairly treated tho.

Everything was fantastic. The hosts gave us a really good welcome. And the rooms we were checkin was really big and spacious rather than the other places in this area. The bathroom is very modern and it’s add a luxurious look to the room. The food is very tasty and the pool and garden is well maintained and eye catching. I really recommends this place. Really good stay for a very reasonable price. For sure i will visit this place again. Thanks to them for making our vacation a wonderful one.

This is a nice place to go and Chill out for people traveling to the Down South of Sri Lanka, situated near Ahangama about 400m from the Galle - Matara main Road.
A spacious villa which can accomodate about 60 people. The rooms, swimming pool and the surrounding is clean and well maintained.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Servesdelicious meals. Parking facilies are also available.

Unfortunately I got stolen by the hotel members (65000 rupees= 340 euros).

I had sufficient cash to pay my stay, food etc, and was stolen the exact amount of money of the hotel bill.
We checked the security camera tape two days later, in which 20 minutes of video got lost (the security camera didn't record for 20 minutes).

I really tried to find a solution with the manager of Kabalana Villa, stayed calm and hoped till the last day that the money would appear after having proved to them and with them, that 20 minutes of video got lost.

In the end I had to pay my stay with credit card, being treated by the manager as if I was lying about the stolen money and allowing himself to be quite verbally aggressive towards his client (me).

Please don't stay at this hotel. It's an organised trap.

It is actually a pity because the hotel itself, the room and food were good.

Nice villa-hotel, very nice and hospitate personnel. Rooms are large, not new, but good. The breakfast is perfect. Very hot water, there is a conditioner and a fan in each room. Shared kitchen is only in one room of all.
Prices at hotel restaurant are lower then on the beach.
It's just 10 minutes from Kabalana beach by foot. The beach is very nice, lot's of serf schools, and serf lessons are chieper then on Weligama.
