The review is objective, we live here now.
On the good side: the hotel is right on the ocean, just 15 meters away, great view and beach; nice big swimming pool that is cleaned daily; well-groomed small area; a lot of sun loungers, chairs, wicker chairs with tables; in the evenings they play music in the bar and offer a grilled dinner in 2 options. There is beer and juices.
The rooms are cleaned and bed sheets are changed once every 3 days - that's enough. Water is brought daily.
The bad: a very old room, without a hint of renovation, although the hotel was closed for renovations for 2 years!
Wi-fi only works in the lobby.
Meals are not organized, and even dinner, which is mentioned above, is very expensive and with a meager portion by local restaurant standards. For this money you can take a round-trip tuk-tuk to a good place nearby and have a varied and tasty meal.
The staff is friendly, but the service is lame, you have to ask for everything, half of the staff does not speak or understand English, so sign language will help)

Let me remind you that this is a two star hotel! Accordingly, I think that the hotel is more than worthy. The rooms are not new, but everything worked fine for us - shower - hot water with good pressure; the fan is like a helicopter propeller; the bed linen was perfectly clean and smelled delicious.
The room was cleaned, but only after my reminder, it was cleaned well. Also with the replacement of bed linen and towels. At the same time, neighbors said that someone had termites in their room, someone had bedbugs, etc. We did not have!
There are a lot of mosquitoes, but at the reception, after asking, they gave me a fumigator with liquid, it helped, but you need to close all the doors/windows. There is no food in the hotel now, the restaurant is being renovated and it is unknown when it will open.
Moreover, the hotel is located right on the coastline, the ocean is 20 meters away, the view from all rooms is of the ocean and the view is gorgeous! In the courtyard there is a large swimming pool with clean water!
The beach, in my opinion, is excellent - the water is clean, the sand strip is very wide, the sand is light yellow, very pleasant, clean. But! There are always waves, this is not a problem for me, but be very careful, especially if this is your first time on the ocean!
And of course there is no infrastructure in Koggala. There are almost no cafes or shops around.
However, we had a great time at this hotel!

I have no words. Just drool, and some foul language. But the pool and beach are gorgeous. Don't expect anything from this place, you won't be disappointed.

We are here from 12/11/2023 to 12/21/2023.1) the furniture is poor, it requires a screwdriver and a hammer, including the sun loungers.
2) refrigerators are only for a fee, as well as air conditioners, if not included in the tour.
3) no service, the cleaning sign was up for three days, they ignored it as if on purpose. Until she took the mop bucket and washed it herself, they didn’t move at all.
4) there are only a few trash cans on the territory, located near the bungalows, but there are none at the entrance to the two-story buildings.
The hotel is full of people, there are 7 sun loungers near the pool, who knows what they are thinking about, the staff is running after each other.
5) the restaurant is under renovation; breakfast and dinner are offered for a fee at a nearby hotel (for those without meals), but it’s cheaper in nearby cafes.
The staff in the evenings, including security, are stoned and wandering around. I came to the reception at 10 pm, there was a full bottle of gin standing, there was no staff except the security guard.
In short, I am an unpretentious tourist, but 160 thousand for an overnight stay is too much.

Rooms are clean food is somewhat ok but in washroom some broken shower heads lights are not working it need to be renovated

I had my Covid corontine period here, well this place is great, my room was facing the which I loved most!

Good place to visit, but nowadays not well maintained (maybe covid situation).
Food and beverages are good (only 3 stars).
Services are not very well. That's why I gave 3 stars for this.

One of Good place to live alone & leisurely with Sea & kind of taste food. Good staff & warmly welcome them to hotel. Good & Kind service as at all.

Basic room, buffet with limited selection, needs a colour wash and renovation.friendly staff and attentive service.
