La Veranda Di Serena reviews
18Definitely worth every penny! I've seen a lot of beaches in my life but the location of this Hotel is something out of this world. We went here 2 times now and I'm defenetly coming back again. The hospitality is outstanding and the breakfast at the beach is a perfect start in the morning. Couldn't recomend it more, if you're in Unawatuna and look for the perfect hotel. Don't worry you just found it.
We stayed for 2 nights in early May, we booked out the top level. The entire top level for a decent price when converted from Australian Dollars to LKR. Room with AC and with spectacular window views of the beach. Very friendly owner who helped us arranged all transport and helped give advice on anything we needed details on. Thankyou!
Incredible location the ocean.and absolutely spotless accommodation. Chandana owner was the perfect host and his team were fantastic. Breakfast was incredible andsupport with the local and wider Sri Lanka experience. Stayed for a week and would highly recommend with Unawatuna and Galle very close. Thank you Chandana
Very picturesque place. Nice polite staff, good breakfast, the best fresh juice in Unawatuna. Comfortable bed. Clean and quite room. Recomended.
An amazing stay, first in the souterrain room which can be called charming (a rock is built into the room) but still dark with limited sunlight and then on.second floor with sea view - and here you can't probably find anything better: lacated directly at a private beach, great person owning the hotel with an amazing personal story and as him for anythi g, he will support you
If you stay in Unawatuna, stay here!
Terrible hotel, poor hotel management, no electricity backup facility, no breakfast buffet facilities, just one person was there who was handling all the things and mismanaging & when we decided to check out early due to poor management the hotel refused to refund the money.
Please don't book into this terrible hotel.
Great little place literally one meter away from the ocean.
Cozy private beach, don't even need to go to the main beach at all.
Service is top notch - great breakfast, very good cleaning, beach towels.
Owner is always happy to help - transfer from/to the airport or any other place (we booked a transfer from airport and another one 200km away), currency exchange, whale watching booking and transfer - you can forget about figuring it all out yourself and just let the owner handle it.
Place is LITERALLY in the ocean - if you are light sleeper bring some earplugs, as tides are quite loud at night.
10/10 would return again.
A great little place, walking distance from the main beach. Perfect service, very good breakfast and the best view on the ocean. We also enjoyed watching the many sea turtles staying nearby.
Perfect place. Room 1 offers a splendid view over your "private beach" and sea. Very clean. The coconut tree stands so close that you could almost get it's coconuts from your balcony. The stuff is super friendly and attent - Especially Sadit has made us feel at home. During the day you may see big sea-turtles within the reef (5m into the sea)
Been there with my wife, during December 2018. Definetely the best hotel during our Sri Lanka tour. We stayed in a room at the first floor: the view wa stunning, directly on the ocean. We could hear the sound of the waves in the room which, in my opinion, was amazing. The room was clean and comfortable, with a large bathroom and a terrace facing the ocean: if you love sunsets, this is the place. Breakfasts were really good, with delicious fresh fruits. The personnel was kind, friendly and considerate. Prices are alittle above average, but it's worth it. Absolutely suggested.
Before we even arrived, the owner of this hotel had not only secured us transportation from the airport, but let us know he could coordinate our tours and interests during our stay. He responds quickly via Facebook message.
Upon arrival, we received welcome tropical drinks and were provided with dinner options. Each morning we woke up to an amazing breakfast served right by the beach. The location happens to be along a private rocky beach where you can snorkel and watch the sea turtles who come in along the rocks daily.
Anything we needed, the staff were willing to help us locate both in the local area and throughout the country. The owner set up a safari tour for us, visit to the turtle conservation hatchery, whale watching.the list goes on.
This is a small hotel tucked into a fantastic area with the most attentive and friendly staff I've ever experienced in our travels. We would stay no where else in Sri Lanka. Hands down one of the best vacation stays we've had. A real hidden gem.
Thank you Chandana and Sadith for an unforgettable experience.
A lovely place, very nice staff and owner.
They really made us feel like at home, if i get the chance i will definitely come back. ️
Lovely little place with a private beach. Friendy helpful staff. Secure parking. Onsite restaurent. Stunning view
Great view ever. But a litlle to expensive and whit some reparing to do. Any way, the place is beautifull, breakfast area is on a small beach.
I will miss this place.
It's a good place right at the edge of the beach. You can hear the waves splashing throughout the day and night. It's a wonderful sound too fall asleep and wake up to.
The beach isn't accessible from the hotel but it's just a short walk away. If this contradicts the above para, is because the sea which kisses the walls of the hotel isn't exactly swimming friendly.
The rooms are small but cosy and neat. We did see ants at night near the door and a lizard was walking around but nothing that is terrifying.
Lovely place, located exactly on the shore! Very friendly boss and staffs!
Lovely and serene place!
The hotel is located on the beach with excellent views from the balcony. It is in very close proximity of the unawatuna beach which is of a great advantage. The hotel is well maintained and ckean. The rooms are OK. They satisfy your requirements but Dont qualify as luxury. Vegetarian food options are limited.
Excellent staff and a very hospitable manager Mr Chandana. He arranged the whale watching tour from the hotel and gave us good recommendation for the scuba diving programme.
Just don't take the small room with garden "view": oppressing. The rooms with the sea view are really pleasant. Awesome breakfast, very kind people. Hope to come back!
