Mamas Restaurant

We randomly stopped by here for lunch as it looked interesting.
The ambiance in the restaurant looks great from outside, but as some maintenance was going on, it didn't feel too great and it was noisy.
But the staff and the service was great. Staff member serving us was very helpful and made it a great experience.
The food is a bit too overpriced for the quality and taste. Didn't feel it was worth the price point.
The food and drinks we ordered were average both in terms of quality and taste.
There is a bit of parking available at the front and as most of the patrons seem to be coming in after spending time at the beach which is right outside the restaurant its easy to find parking.

The most unpalatable food on the entire coast, a waste of money and time. The prices for drinks are twice as high.

Food and service were perfect, unfortunately a bad combo caused over an hour of deafening noise when it was supposed to be sound check, so I had to leave with a headache.

Restaurant has a very nice view but the food is not good at all and overpriced. Cannot recommend the mama's special seafood fried rice as it's incredibly salty and watery.

Nice place delicious food and spectacular waters. Owner was very friendly and a cool guy helped us with everything. Recommend to everyone without any doubt

Visited at night. A local recommended this place. It looked very different from the other photos online, the furniture was cheap plastic chairs. The food was just ok.

The food was tasty and fresh, best place for watching sunset, but we asked if we could pay by card and they said yes but after we got the check (17.000 rupees) they said it was not working all day so we had to take a tuk-tuk and go to an ATM.

Nice cozy beachside vibe with tasty fresh seafood. Prices are very reasonable and the service is attentive. The ocean is just steps away, if you want a quick swing on the tire.

Food was expensive for the portion. My friends fish was tough, chewy, and overfried. Our seafood platter was meh. Only go on live band nights for a drink and boogie but eat somewhere else first.

Great atmosphere with live music, a beautiful view over the ocean, and a very cute interior design. Food is good but for the price could be a little better and more. We had long waiting times with our waiter but it seemed like other tables were luckier.

Overpriced mediocre food with a loud atmosphere where you can't enjoy the time spent with the people you came with. The beach is nice though ‍️

Great service but I can't say the same for the food.
My husband and I had the Jaffna crab curry and chicken curry. They were both tasteless. We specifically asked for Sri Lankan spicy when we ordered and both dishes really lacked the true Sri Lankan flavours. I know what Jaffna crab curry taste like as I've had this in Wellewata and Galle. The crab was so small and hardly any meat.

We've been in Hikkaduwa for 4 months and I must say the food we had was truly disappointing as it wasn't authentic Sri Lankan cuisine.

Of course we tipped the waiter for his service as it wasn't his fault the food was so bad.

A cozy place near to the beach. Had short stopover there for a lunch. A very nice experience and relaxing.
