Nisala Arana Boutique Hotel

Wonderful property nestled between River and sea, the ossis of peace with a lovely 2 acre private garden and possibly one of the best cooks in Sri Lanka. The mosquitos are a bit of a nuissance, but if you have a spray you should be safe.

What a wonderful experience at Nisala Arana. The staff were excellent and the food exceptional. We hope to come back again really soon.

It is a place that can go to relax from busy life and chill out. The villa was so relaxing I almost forgot I came from Colombo to Bentota. It felt almost a home for me. The staff was very welcoming and very helpful during our stay at Nisala Arana. And the food was upto standard and quality. I would definitely recommend to visit Nisala Arana villa to move away from busy life and have a relaxing vacation.

This villa is located in a very quiet environment. It must be said that the swimming pool was very clean. The chef's food is good. The tastiest biryani I ever ate was Chef Palitha's Biryani. The rest of the staff is very nice. You can also get the open air bathroom experience. Everything was matched to the antique type, suitable for those who like to spend time freely in an old mansion. I highly recommend this villa for a large family.

A hidden gem of a place. A nice old villa with spacious rooms and outdoor baths. A big garden for it's size and the surrounding is amazing. Food was OK and for larger crowds they ask to bring raw materials and they provide a cook. Not sure it's the standard procedure there. It's an escape from the city and located towards the land side of bentota.
Can recommend with 4 stars.

Booked 2 days here to unwind myself after a packed previous week. So glad I chose this place. Rooms had full of character and the food was scrumptious. Tony and Harendra was exceptional. They made us feel at home and attended to all our needs beyond our expectation. I would surely like to come back and also try your Nuweriliya hotel next time. Blessings for a successful venture. Serene green set up. Captures the old time feeling well with basic modern amenities in place for a comfortable stay. Friendly staff. Don't forget to carry mosquito repellent and rent a scooter (staff can also arrange for you) for easy access to the beach. Ideal for a group of 8-10 people as you can enjoy all the common areas to yourself then.

We went twice, first for our honeymoon where we had a great experience in this lovely place. We went back a second time and it all went well until the end, when we had all of our money stolen from our room. We reported it to the police and staff but there was no resolution. Even though we fully paid our bill, the main owner was very unsympathetic and suspicious of our motives and even went so far as to say we made up the story to avoid having to pay our bill. The sad thing is that the hotel prided itself on not proving safes or locks on the doors and that was what made us feel the illusion of security. Even now more than five years later, this is the overriding memory of the place.
