Just wow, absolutely fantastic hotel, very friendly staff, excellent service. Recommend to you to stay and get the such a experience

A train passing 15m from the room seemed romantic to start but it soon worn off after being woken a few times by the first train at 5.30am. If you are a light sleeper this is not the hotel for you. The pool was very refreshing but the area around the pool especially the changing rooms needed updating. The alcoholic drinks in the hotel were a RIDICULOUS PRICE, approx twice the price of the last 2 hotels we had visited (both 5star) The lunch and dinner menu were very limited, To be honest I didnt rate the food at all and we dined out when we could. After 6 nights we were happy to move on, The bed looked lovely but was very hard. Overall I would say we paid a great price for the suite but it seemed the hotel were too keen to get extra revenue from drinks and food. Even the airport transfer quoted from them was over twice what we paid from another company.

I didn't actually stay in the accommodation, I did have lunch there and I looked at 3 rooms which were excellent in the layout and the colour pallet. Our lunch was excellent and the service was fantastic too. The gardens are great and the pool looked very inviting. The train track is right adjacent to the property and is novel.

Perfect location and relaxing nature, staff is amazing, special thanks to Mr. Dilan who provided exceptional service throughout our stay.

From the very beginning, Nishanth and his team were incredibly supportive and helpful in helping us plan and execute our wedding. They were always available to answer our questions and make suggestions, and they went above and beyond to ensure that everything went smoothly on the big day. We returned several times before the wedding and the team always made themselves available to discuss plans with us. They even took the time to show us around every single room in the villa so that we had all the information we needed. The team also went out of the way to decorate the bar area for our welcome drinks with fairy lights and it looked stunning! We were really touched by all the effort they went to throughout.

The villa itself is absolutely breathtaking, with stunning views of the ocean and beautifully appointed rooms and common areas. The staff were all incredibly friendly and attentive, and they made sure that our every need was taken care of. The food was unbeatable - our favourite was the lamprais! The head chef Nalaka also ensured that our special meal requests were catered for. We really feel like the Villa is a home away from home.

All in all, we can't recommend The Villa Bentota by KK Collection highly enough. If you're looking for a truly magical holiday location or even a wedding experience, look no further. Thank you, Nishanth and team, for making our special day unforgettable and we will certainly be back again soon:)

Wonderful architecture by Sri Lanka's greatest architect, Geoffrey Bawa. Worth it just for that. But the quality of the facilities and the friendliness of the staff also make this place very special.

It’s a stunning hotel with charming and helpful staff, beach access, tasteful decor, large gardens, spacious and well put together bedrooms, and massive pool.

The Sri Lankan food is delicious, the western food is pretty good, and everything is reasonably priced (think $7 per main dish). The bar offers cocktails and is a pretty spot to spend the evening.

Things that could be better: the restaurant could use a lick of paint and some updating; the hot water and shower is a bit tricky to figure out (room 6) ; the boutique shop wasn’t open; our massage wasn’t amazing. But that’s nitpicking.

Overall, a lovely stay in a beautiful place, with some small areas of improvement.

It is the most gorgeous place with the best food! Hats off to The Villa Bentota Team for their outstanding service and hospitality. We had the best time of our lives. The whole team took care of us in a very personalised manner and attended our every request without hesitation.

The villa benthota has a lovely and romantic ambience which made me to select it as the venue for my engagement. The villa is super luxury with many photo locations. The staff was highly committed and supported us to make our dream engagement a reality. The food was really delicious and the buffet was arranged nicely. The room we booked for the bridal dressing was super luxury with classy architecture. The location where we did our first look was amazing. Mr. Rachitha was one of the most supportive among the staff. I appreciate the commited service and the flexibility of all the staff members. My husband and I went to The Villa Bentota for our honeymoon in August 2022. We had a lovely relaxing stay. The property is nice and very tastefully decorated. We stayed in a suite room and it was comfortable and had a nice view of the garden. The pool was nice and warm, relaxing for a swim in the evening. The staff was also helpful and polite. The food was definitely a highlight for us. Almost all the dishes we had were outstanding, special mention to the French Toast and Treacle Tart which were exquisite. Overall we had a lovely stay and a relaxing time, with great food!

Beautiful place go and relax. It is very calm and quiet. Nice large garden. Access to the beach. Food is good. They should improve the food options.

I would recommend to visit this place at least one time. The rooms looks well equipped and the environment is calm and chilled to do anything you want. The staff is very supportive. We really enjoyed the food and the stay. One of the unforgettable places I've been hope to come again soon.

We had a very pleasant stay. Food was really good and the staff was very friendly. One thing is that the menu was in dollars so with the exchange rate it was a bit on the pricey side.

We came few times, for drinks, coffee and dinner. I cannot recommend buffet dinner, but a la carte dinner was very good.fresh prepared seafood or pasta.very nice drinks and good coffee.property is well maintained.

The property is well maintained. The staff are friendly and efficient, service with a smile and attentive. The food was excellent, every meal we had something to look forward to. Recommending the Jaffna-style prawns, the beef with olu rice, clams casino, and the signature burger. The room was cosy and the bed was very comfortable. Special thanks to the housekeeping staff who had really paid attention to all the little details that made our stay here extremely relaxing and peaceful.
This property has two swimming pools and beach access which is another bonus as we spent a large chunk of our time in the pool and at the beach.

Service is very attentive and friendly. Even f&b staff will try to accommodate you by cooking up things off menu, or having a BBQ night or pizza lunch for you.
Two lovely swimming pools, and heaps of space which really ensures safety. Multiple dining areas, so you don't really have to interact with other guests if you don't want to.
Not a hard drive from Colombo. Ample parking.

A beautiful architectural design; historical and
with a good balance of greenary and blue waters just to relax and feel the calmness. We loved the spacious suite, cozy furniture the large balcony and simply everything about the room. And it is just two minutes walk to ths sea…. We also loved the large pool and the small pool by the restuarant…It's a perfect getaway!
The staff is all commited just to ensure that we
enjoy our stay. A warm and friendly welcome and there onwards resturant and housekeeping assist every way possible to make our stay perfect. Coming out of lockdown for the nth time, I was looking for a quiet place to recoup and treat myself for a solo trip. I was still traumatized from the events that took place and getting some fresh air in privacy and safety was hence high on my list of considerations.
Villa Benthota by KK is a 400 year old manor (Mohotti Manor) that is now a picture perfect and idyllic boutique villa with 14 bed rooms. There is something very therapeutic about how beautiful this property is. Well maintained lounges, pools and lawns. Despite just recommencing service with an upfront apology letter from George Cooper himself for possible teething issues, the service was exceptional. Their manager Glen was very attentive, looking into matters and constantly being around to help with guests. Despite being short on staff, there was always someone around to service at any given time and helpful suggestions and arrangements to make private quarters away from the other guests (perfect for the COVID phobic) for dining and resting etc. The 2nd pool felt like it belonged to me!
The real bonus of the villa was their food. Again, despite being told that they are not at full operations, their Chef Nalaka is a serious star. Having his own vision fort the food he serves, he aspires to appreciate local ingredients and dishes. Special mention for his Vietnamese seafood soup where the broth was on point. His ‘homemade’ passion fruit jam made me closely guard it on my breakfast table and his jack fruit steak, the perfect balance of curry and sweet. I also loved how the ingredients were the hero in his sweet dishes. Loved the soursop cheesecake and coconut ice cream. He really is talented and Colombo should consider dropping in for a meal, which are btw his own inventions.

To make this review more realistic, here are few negatives mentions.
Inability to have a liquor license as the property is in close premises to a temple. I did see liquor on tables so don’t forget to take your own.
I was a bit disappointed that the head office had allowed for a day package for a group. They were stationed mainly at the Ambalama (a little rest area with a roof next to the pool). They were not allowed to play cricket on the beautifully maintained lawn and they were restricted to the area which means for someone like me who wanted privacy and quiet, the main pool area was completely off limits for a day. The little 2nd pool made do…so this wasn’t a big issue.

The bar area was pretty and I was told provides a quiet dining location for those who don’t want to use the main restaurant. But there was a big party of 23 who were mainly hosted there and hence off limits for the party of 1 (me). Nothing to worry, the staff overly compensated this making arrangements to serve me at any other private place I would like to have my meals. The restaurant is in the back, so make the request for dining outside under the moonlight, in fresh air and with sea breeze and sounds of waves crashing, well, need I say more.

Overall a lovely and safe holiday. Thanking the staff and management for making it perfect for me.
