Passion Tours Sri Lanka : Private Tour in Sri Lanka

Unfortunately, these tour guides/travel companies have never heard of honesty.
I actually didn't want to rate the trip because Sahan apologized for the "discrepancies" on the last day.
After reading shortly after the trip how positively my husband and I supposedly rated the trip, I was upset. Not only about the fact that they wrote a review on my behalf, but also published a photo. Still, I didn't respond.
But that's enough for now: Immediately after the trip, my son expressed his displeasure when he read the fake review about his trip. How can a travel company that noticed from the third day of the trip that we were dissatisfied write the exact opposite and think that we accept it? And then the alleged satisfaction of the mother-in-law “during the trip” is emphasized again. That's just cheeky.
We chose this travel company Passion-Tours because it was cheaper than the provider “Siri-Tours”. And only later did we realize that this was also a fake: On the third day of the trip we discovered by chance that our tour guide “Siri” was the boss of “Siri-Tours”. Until we showed them the internet portals, they simply denied knowing each other. From then on we questioned everything that was offered. And we complained during the trip, for example, that a waterfall and a temple on the side of the road were shown as highlights, even though the “real ones according to the travel description” were further inland and much more. In addition, Siri doesn't have much knowledge of the country's history. A German-speaking tour guide was booked for two temples, but we didn't get one because Siri felt competent enough. Apart from constantly listing the names of all the gods, not much came of it. And when asked specific questions, the wrong answers were often given. So I always had to prepare for sightseeing in the evenings. What was also “funny” was that our tour guide and my son’s guide gave contradictory answers…one different than the other and then different today than tomorrow. The mood escalated when we rebooked an expensive national park for a smaller, inexpensive one, which was happily done. But when I asked that the guide's tip could be paid from the difference in the entrance fees, they lied again, endlessly. Apparently our jeep was more expensive and the entrance fees shown weren't correct, they supposedly had to pay more. I could go on and on.

My girlfriend and I went on a 16 day road trip in April. We were glad we got such a good value deal (you have to give them that). At the same time, my in-laws drove around the island with another guide from Passion Tours in the opposite direction to us. We can therefore evaluate Passion Tours from two perspectives and do not represent an isolated case.

Because of the character limit, a short version:
German-speaking guide couldn't speak German, and his English wasn't much better either.lured us into tourist traps and treated himself to lunch at our expense,
Program stops were partly similar to sales events,
pejorative comments were made about our financial situation (motto: the tourists can afford it),
The driver often emptied a whole bottle of schnapps alone in the evening (and literally 'forced' us to drink too)
actual admission prices do not match those in the price list
And the crowning glory: PASSION TOURS created an account in OUR name and gave it a 5 STAR rating on Trip Advisor. Now we also know why Passion Tours consistently only gets 5 stars there and why all the ratings sound similar. When asked, you even confirmed that you have a service provider who writes reviews for you and uses real customer data including photos.

I found Passion Tours on the Instagram, messaged with Mr. Tobias and he replied straight away. He organized best tour around Sri Lanka.

Our chauffeur guide was Kumara. He is an excellent tour guide with extensive knowledge of his home country. He is well traveled and speaks excellent English. He was always on time and his Van was immaculate. He arranged all our wishes, took us everywhere and we were so pleased to have met him. Finally He transferred us to air-port safely.
Highly recommend and looking forward to seeing Kumara again on our next trip.

Our guide Somasiri always picked us up on time and fulfilled every conceivable wish. During 6 days (Colombo - Sigiriya - Kandy - Nuwara Eliya - Ella - Yala - Colombo - Negombo) he was very flexible, punctual, reliable and very important, trusting.
He always told us about his beautiful homeland and the different cultures, religions and customs in great detail during the trips and brought the dream island closer.

During the trip we also wanted to see places with few tourist, this was also not a problem. The minibus / van was clean and decorated with flowers every day and it always had water bottles on the go. The whole performance of Passion Tours and our guide Somasiri was great!
