Perfect Retreat in Galle - Dream Cabana Exceeded Expectations!

My wife and I recently visited Dream Cabana in Galle, Sri Lanka, and it truly surpassed all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with the utmost warmth and hospitality by the owner and staff. The atmosphere at Dream Cabana is simply magical, with a serene ambiance that instantly put us at ease.

One of the highlights of our visit was the charming swing hanging from a coconut tree, which added an extra element of fun to our experience. It was a delight to relax and sway gently in the breeze while taking in the beautiful surroundings.

The attention to detail at Dream Cabana is evident in every aspect, from the impeccably clean and comfortable accommodations to the delicious meals served with care. We felt truly pampered throughout our stay.

Above all, what sets Dream Cabana apart is the genuine kindness and friendliness of the people who run it. They went above and beyond to ensure that we had a memorable and enjoyable stay.

The family takes care of every concern. They are always helpful. The view is really the dream. Directly at the sea! The food was yummie too! So highly recommended.

In between Unawatuna and Delawella beach you find this hidden local and quiet place, with not many tourists, with such a nice vibe and nicest staff you can imagine in this busy area. I stopped buy one day just for a beer looking for a relaxing afternoon away from the Unawatuna crazinest and came back anytime I could since I felt very welcome and happy there. You are in a great location, yet it is not overcrowded like places around. Always smiling, always positive and welcoming. Thank you so much.

Came across this incredibly great place by chance. The rope swing around sunset is simply incredible.

The crew is young and super cool. Do you want to feel the surfer vibe, have a great time, enjoy cool drinks and also have a great view? Here you go!

I visited this place for the swing only. They charge LKR 500 for two rounds. Better to go early morning for best videos.

The best people (sweetest boys you will meet) a real family business. The view is the best and you will really enjoy your time there. We had to come back every day we where at Unawatuna.

To me this place has two sides:
One, amazing food, good drinks, nice room (especially the ac) and very lovely staff.
The other side: it starts already when having breakfast that tourists from other hotels come to try the rope whereas the ambience loses it’s flair in my opinion. Second: unfortunately, they are throwing bread in the ocean to attract the turtles. I’m probably very different compared to other tourists regarding this topic but I can’t stand it how people exploit animals for tourists/paying guests. There are lots of turtles, it’s not even necessary to throw bread in the sea to attract them, you’ll see them anyways. Furthermore, is it good for baby turtles to be touched by us tourists? On the first day they showed us baby turtles they keep and we were allowed to hold them. Of course it’s an amazing experience, I love turtles too but I’m rather interested in their health than about having a baby turtle in my hands. As far as I know there is one rule: don’t touch wild animals.
What a pity.

Best place ever! All the family is amazing. We spend 6 days at the paradise.
Banti now is like a brother. He did all for we spend the best holidays. When you arrive to dream cabana there is only one word that come out …. WAOOOUHH! 100% amazing.
We will come back for sure.

Je recommande vivement Dream Cabana. C’était nos dernières jours en Sri Lanka et la famille de Banti ont fait que nos voyage fini par un rêve. Vue sur la mer époustouflante, nourriture au top! A n’est pas rater.

Solo puedo decir que han hecho de nuestras vacaciones un sueño. Banti y su familia (que ya nuestra familia también) son atentos en cada detalle. Cada desayuno con esas vistas no os lo podéis perder.

Great photo op! The guys who run this do their best so that everyone can enjoy it, regardless of mobility! Fair price and you get a couple of attempts- would recommend!

The staff were friendly especially the ex military guy. Showed us some of the hatchling turtles they release into the sea and even let us do this. Wonderful. The dog Sandy is a shy one but friendly. Cocktails could be a bit better because alcohol is hard to find in them when you order more than one ;)
The owner wasn't there when I went so I cannot unfortunately confirm what other say about him.

One rope swing over the ocean changed the tourism industry for an entire country. Is it clichè? Yes. Is it overpriced? Yes. Would I do it again? 100000x yes.

This tiny little rustic cabana on the beach with a handful of old wooden deck chairs, a bar, a few rooms to stay in and a rope and a palm tree makes for a magical photograph to sum up a very unique island. It’s 500Rs to swing. The staff also keep hatchling turtles to release back into the ocean which they will happily show you.

This place is absolutely amazing. Family hotel with the best people who treat you as if you were part of their family. Great food, turtle beach, palm tree rope swing.a lot of fun in this place. Thank you!

Amazing experience with beautiful location. We really enjoyed in here. Specially the owner is very kind and helpful. He adviced to us how to control swing rope properly and what time is the best to do it. So we got some beautiful photos and videos. Highly recommend ️

One of the best stays ever! You sleep with the sound of waves, the family is super sweet and helpful! They provide you with almost anything you need and just good energy overall.

The beach is amazing and just walking distance you can swim with turtles!

Also the dogs and cats at the place was adorable will miss them too.

Beautiful place with good vibes and extremely friendly staff. Food is amazing too! The rope swing is lots of fun. Music is always good - it’s the perfect location for a relaxed afternoon. They have also rooms if you want to stay. Very recommendable.

Amazing if you ha e been here you are missing out full of Local Sri Lankan charm best in the country, attentive service and friendly staff makes this place feel like home away from home and we are looking forward to coming back to Sri Lanka to come back to this place again.

Dream cabana is the essence of what I was looking for in Sri Lanka. For the first time I don't hear the road, I hear only ocean.
Property hold by lovely family, who will make your stay awesome.
Staying here for 3 days I already saw up to 50 little turtles to born, monkeys and iguana.
Every day is very chilled. Food is very tasty and cooked by family.
Swing is available any time.
