Rampart Hotel reviews
30Very varied menu, personally, I opted for a local meal, very good but spicy. The view is very beautiful and the service fast.
Had lunch at this place. Good view and lovely food with nice presentation. It’s not pricy. Have space.
Food is not that tasty.
Team dosen't care much about Customer.
To get WiFi you need to beg. And nothing will happen anyway. Quality versus price, overpriced. Location is good though
Very old furniture, smells of mold everywhere. The prices are not justified, the staff is trying to shortchange you in everything, be careful. In addition, at the entrance they hang the flag of a country that kills people every day in Ukraine. Therefore, there are many Russians who get drunk and behave inappropriately.
Terrible! I do not recommend, do not waste your time and money, it is better to go to neighboring establishments.
Nice view, A good Restaurant Manager but the waiters are rude and not trained. Waiters are just school leavers with a proper training, so they don’t know how to provide a good service. They charge extra from Chinese guests saying that Chinese guests don’t give tips. This is unacceptable.
Great food and very reasonable prices as well. Amazing view. One of the best locations in Galle fort.
Had a very good lunch here and very reasonably priced. Both fish curry and chilli chicken were very good. Service was friendly and efficient. Good views too. Definitely recommended.
Delicious foods. The service charge is a little bit mismatched. But the service is great. The place is also very calm and properly arranged. The staff is also very friendly. Thank you! Hope to see this soon.
Pros: Nice place with a good food. Well maintained British era building. Huge variety of cuisine. We tried Srilankan food which was tasty and flavourful.
Cons: Couple of items were not available and waiter was not aware of it. We had to change options few times. Restrooms were very smelly!
Place is located in a nice area. Food js tasty and portions are pretty good. Price is little high due to the location.
Fantastic view overlooking the sea and parts of the old fort. Dutch architecture Of the venue is great to explore too. They also have a jems and wood crafts shop within the complex. Food was brilliant and not too spicy for the tourists. Overall, an beautiful lunch spot and an excellent place to see the sunset.
The food was disgusting. The worst thing I've ever eaten. I really can't recommend anyone to eat here!
Had a very bad experience while having lunch here with my travel group. The lunch is paid for by our travel company, and they served us a pre-fixed course. The waiters were extremely rude, when I asked for an extra helping of chicken curry, the waiter rolled his eyes, and when he did get it, it was a very meaner portion. They served 14 of us with only 2 plates of rice. I repeatedly asked for more rice, but they kept ignoring me. When I asked again, one of the waiters said that the rice was over, and if I wanted more I would have to pay. This was the tipping point as the food had already been paid for. They weren’t doing a charity to us. I understand if the rice was really over, that’s completely fine. But saying I have to pay for it when our travel company had already paid for it, makes no sense. Surprisingly the rice which he said was over, came out of the kitchen in a few minutes after he said that.
I also noticed the differential treatment that the staff exhibited towards Indians vs the White folks present at the same time. The staff was more attentive towards them.
Also, our tables were badly cramped shoulder to shoulder. If we had to get out, one of us would have to get up to let the other person go. Ironically after 10 mins of seating us, the whole restaurant was empty and there were just 3 tables cramped against each other.
Overall a very bad experience, definitely wouldn’t recommend. I feel it’s more of a tourist trap and I’m sure there are better places around. Our travel plans were greatly delayed because of the slow and ignorant service.
Customer service is very very bad and the food quality is poor, not worth for the price, try any other restaurant nearby.
We came up here for the sunset, it was pretty quiet but the sunset was great. And the beers are cold and at a decent price.
Ine of the best place to have local or sea food with lovely sea and fort rampat view. Recon for any expectaion.love this place with good friendly staff.
I enjoyed the atmosphere, food and especially the cold beer. View from the veranda is worthwhile. Shopping close by. Want to return.
Main restaurant is a nice place with a good variety of food. Staff was very nice and our waiter Mr Sajith was very helpful and friendly.
The service here was great and the view was nice, the food was tasty although for the main course the portions were quite small compared to other restaurants. I had chicken soup for the starter but it was very watery and didn’t taste at all like other chicken soups I have had before. For the main I had seer fish and not at all was it enough to fill me up. Overall the view was good, the service was average but the food wasn’t anything special. Probably wouldn’t go here again.
Not at the hotel so can't judge but the restaurant has very tasty and flavourful food. Friendly staff and quick food. Our waitor even gave us our own special napkins.
