Refresh Restaurant

We visited this place a year ago, it was delicious, we wanted to come again. Today we were disappointed. They simply burned the fish fingers black and responded to the remark that they would give it to the cook, the Pina Colada was not made according to the recipe, there was too much pineapple, it was unclear what kind of alcohol was added to it, it was not tasty. Price and quality do not match. I’m not surprised that for such a magnificent location there is an almost empty establishment

Ordered cocktails: Blue Lagoon and White Russian. Food: half a grilled chicken, salad. The portions are very large. The cocktails are as they should be, the food is excellent. I think the price is normal. Service is up to par.

Great place for seafood but also plenty of other food is available here. Really nice view, quick service and a very kind owner.

Good restaurant, however I wonder about the quality of the products given the length of the menu? (Dishes from all countries available.)

Finally, we were not disappointed with our typical Sinhalese dishes.

We came on the recommendation of our TukTuk driver, pleasant surprise, Jumbo Prawn Srilankan style curry and Crab Singapore style picked by ourselves. We enjoyed it. We were chatting with the manager after we finished eating, very nice guy. Good place to eat seafood.

Excellent restaurant with an extensive menu of fish and non-fish dishes. There are also aquariums where you can choose what you want to eat. Part of the restaurant is located directly on the beach. Drivers eat for free here.

Objectively, it’s not tasty, the french fries are warm and tough, apparently, they were cooked a long time ago, the fish in batter is dry, you can eat chicken, but for a C grade. And the bill came out to 11,000 rupees.
In addition, they didn’t bring sauce for french fries, the waiter forgot about the chicken soup, brought it after the second course and it was disgusting, in general I don’t advise you to have dinner here, or go without expecting delicious food. The only non-sport plus is the location, right by the sea

We were very satisfied. This is one of the best restaurants we visited in Hikkaduwa with friendly prices tasty food. They have a big variety of kitchen. Surely recommend.

It was the end of the day, we were just done watching sunset at hikkaduwa beach, and I was ungry for 2 things: seafood, and a place to print some emails that I had to sign, scan and re-email again.my wife suggested refresh restaurant because of good reviews.
Here we come, and the first thing I ask is if they can help me to print some emails.
To my surprise, their answer was yes, but it was a bit complicated, as it was almost new year, and their admin people has gone home already.
With the help of their boss, who basically said "do anything you can to help ' their friendly staff took me to their hotel across the road, and managed to print one by one perfect copy of my email. It took them 30mn as they were not familiar with the computer and the printer but they did not quit until the mission was achieved
With this having out me in an excellent mood, we started to look at the menu.
Seafood we wanted, and seafood they had.
We ordered a grilled calamari and a red snapper, just BBQ, with sea salt and garlic.

The food was so fresh that it took them some time to cook, but when it finally arrived on the table, au can definitely say that:
The calamari were pretty good. Plenty, not oily, perfectly cooked and grilled Srilankan way.
But.the red snapper was definitely in the top 10 best fishes Ibhad in my life. It helped that we asked to be cooked very simply because we could really taste the freshness of the fish, the crispy skin, slightly grilled, with some bits of seasalt incrusted in it.you know what I mean.

The meal was accompanied by a bottle of cold lion beer (they didn't have draft beer unfortunately) and that was great.
I didn't even look at the price because I was already in such a good mood with the help they provided for my prints.but it was a 1/5th of what I would have paid in Singapore.a very good adress, and friendly guys.

The funny thing is that we realised during the dinner that we actually came to the exact same restaurant 3 years ago, during our first trip to Srilanka.
That was fate.

Not how it used to be. The dishes were too saucy and we requested the food to be less spicy, yet it was.

No need to spend that much and to put yourself at risk in this time of pandemic just visit Philling Station a Philippine BBQ resto located in Nugegoda area and let yourself experience the Philippines ambiance and superb food plus the service was awesome, staffs were very accommodating.

This is a decent place best for family dinner or family celebration, cool clean place with parking and safe for kids.

By a country mile the worst meal I have eaten in Sri Lanka.it seems to be the default choice of every tuk tuk driver and villa owner for european tastebuds but trust me don’t go.only two stars cos the beer was cold and the nasty food came quick.avoid.

It's one of the good restaurant for sea food in that area.food quality n staff are also good. You can enjoy your food n drink with beautiful see view.

Great restaurant, with amazing food and very good service. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends.

Me and my wife both had pizzas, which were good. Nothing phenomenal, but really good basic pizzas. Waiters were constantly running from table to table, but still the service was quick enough. Beautiful view to the sea and no noice from traffic at all. Restroom was really clean and fresh. A solid 4/5. Thank you Refresh!

I went to Refresh two days after Christmas at around 7.30 pm. The place was decorated in a charm manner and the ambience of the place was good.

Their restaurant is divided into three sections. The first section is near the bar inside the restaurant where it is kind of difficult to get the sea view and the breeze. Then comes the open area where there are tables on the beach which we used to sit today. And besides that section they have another section where you can see the sea and feel the breeze of the wind but you will be sitting inside the restaurant.

After few minutes we ordered around 400g of Lobster, hot butter cuttlefish and two mixed rice dishes (They combined those two and served one). The lobster itself cost around 5000 LKR (10g at the price of 125 LKR) and I didn't feel much of a great taste that everyone tell about lobsters. In a nutshell, I thought that was a waste of money. The hot butter cuttlefish dish was priced for 1600 LKR and the portion they provided was reasonable. However, it was neither crunchy nor tasty. The mixed rice was the life savior of our dine in because it tasted good. For the two mixed rice dishes we had to pay 890 LKR each.

In conclusion, though the food is not that convincing but the place looks good and provide a free and secured surrounding for the people, I believe Refresh is a nice place if you're looking for hanging out with your buddies. If you're going for the food, I suggest you select some other place.
