Thaproban Beach House

This place is people first and foremost. I thank the hotel and restaurant team for a great stay. The feeling of staying in a boutique hotel, where every employee is truly sincerely friendly and ready to help you.
The location for Unawatuna is perfect for me. And regarding the beach and other necessary locations. The only negative is that on some days there is loud music playing in neighboring cafes (sometimes one cafe tries to interrupt the other), but fortunately it always ends by 11 and does not happen every day.
Breakfast is on the menu (there is no buffet), the breakfast itself is delicious, but I was missing some of the usual products, the staff was as cooperative as possible in this problem. They brew excellent coffee from a coffee machine for an additional fee.
We even managed to meet the chef, who kindly prepared a special order for us.
As for the restaurant, I definitely recommend visiting those (the tuna steak is excellent, the sashimi, the national dishes are also excellent - everything was delicious, the only portion of Tom Yum seemed quite small)
The rooms themselves are quite old, but not shabby and cozy. We were comfortable, but the sound insulation suffers. There were very few essentials in the bathroom, but that didn't bother us.
Overall, after a month of staying on the island in different hotels, this one left the most pleasant impressions. Meets expectations and price.

The first thing I would like to tell you about this place is the attitude towards guests, it is at the highest level here, you feel that you are welcome here! We came to Sri Lanka for the first time and immediately for a month, but decided to stay in different places: and as it turned out, it was not in vain. We booked this hotel through Booking without any reviews from friends and acquaintances: the location is good, the appearance is also not bad. But the reality exceeded expectations: starting from the ocean, which is calmer and cleaner here than in Hikkaduwa, continuing with an excellent restaurant with an average price tag, but incomparably high service and quality of food, for this reason, most dinners took place at the hotel. The hotel staff is friendly, attentive and responsive. I definitely recommend the hotel and especially the restaurant.

The rooms are very nice and clean. The receptionist lady and gentleman were really helpful.they even took the trouble to send our adapter per post, which we forgot. All in all, very friendly service. Sure, it won't be our last visit.

I would like a menu, a list of services in Russian and at least one person from the staff who speaks Russian. There aren't enough sunbeds for everyone.

Another stunning place done by the Thambapanni Group is their beach house just situated on the beach front. Went for some lunch and beer, which was perfect on a hot day. The beach is perfect, and we sat under these huge parasols, creating plenty of shade. While we were there, some friendly neighbourhood purple faced langurs appeared, which was a nice surprise.

All the Services that were provided were great. Staff was friendly and helpful. They also have a power generator which is helpful when there are powercuts.

I still can only give 3 Stars as the room was not great in relation to the price. It was ok for one night but the whole room, especially the bathroom, needs a makeover. There were loose tiles in the wooden floor, old stains (in the wood so not cleanable), and old dust in the lamps etc. Doors (including entry door) were very loose or hard to close.

Had an amazing time there, the view is to die for and the beach is only a few feet away. The food was excellent and the staff was really friendly. Highly recommend it if you are searching for a place in Unawatuna. Will be visiting again in the future for sure.

The best seafood and fish in town, fresh and very well made. I ate here for 2 days in a row and I was never disappointed. I highly recommend it

Review for Restaurant: great food! They have fresh seafood that you can weigh and pick yourself. They cook everything fresh and - like other reviews mentioned- it is incredible.
We also got to try the breakfast and it was really nice. Scrambled eggs made on point, big bread baskets, and lovely fresh juice.

We stayed here for 2 nights, as we wanted to experience the Penthouse suite. It was very close to all the buzzing areas of Unawatuna. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

The hotel is located right on the beach. Although they do not have their own beach, the area is clean and has great surroundings. The hotel doesn't have a pool, but you can use the one at Thaproban Pavilion Waves. The hotel provides a free shuttle service.

The room was massive! There were two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a balcony overlooking the beach.

There are two options for breakfast: Western and Eastern. The Eastern breakfast is recommended to be ordered one night before, but we had no idea, and they were more than happy to arrange this. It was delicious!

We ordered fish curry from their restaurant, and it was brought to our room on our last night. It was a wonderful experience, as we enjoyed the sea breeze, the music from the next door bar, and the delicious food.

However, the noise from the next-door bar persisted through the night, so it wasn't easy to sleep. You may want to keep this in mind.

Additionally, they facilitated the pre-departure PCR test, which cost LKR 7,500 per person. The person meets you in the lobby early in the morning, does the test, and gets your results the following morning (24 hours later).

We had a pleasant experience, a great room, and excellent service.

+ We had the „penthouse suite“ which was a nice big room with a great sea view (would defiantly recommend to book this room, as the others are not that good)
Was clean and everything well organized. The food was very good & got a big menue.

- The sunbeds & especially the umbrellas are to less. You need to get up early to save one.

-+ the beach sometimes isn’t 100% clean (some waste swimming around) but anyhow beautiful.

-sometimes it‘s very noisy outside during the night. (E.g. Some guests decided to start a party at 5am and woke everyone up.)
