The Fort Printers

Amazing experience here in respect of both the hotel and restaurant (despite some disruptive diners who were playing an iPad loudly and without headphones in the middle of the restaurant!). The staff went above and beyond for us, the rooms and design of the hotel is beautiful and the food was some of the best we had in Sri Lanka. Cannot recommend enough!

Stopped here for lunch today. Six of us - so they gave us the big marble table in the library, Fish tacos were about the best I’ve had, gazpacho and roasted cauliflower just right for a hot afternoon and the pavlova with real passion fruit made for a perfect ending,

Fantastic stay and dinner at the Fort Printers. Staff were so helpful and the food was delicious.

I give this location no stars. The worst experience I’ve had in any hospitality service recently. We made a reservation for 7 people and went there for dinner today. We were told that the table next to us of 2 people complained that we were loud. On a scale of 1-10, since we were a bigger group the noise must be 4-5. We walked out unhappy and the staff didn’t as much apologize or stop us from leaving. It’s a public restaurant, not a library and if noise is an issue I advise this restaurant to keep ‘Be Quiet’ signs all around their premise. The 2 ladies who complained were foreigners and because we look like locals (we are Americans too) I guess the discrimination.

The surprise was a 15% tax on top of the 10% for the service. There is no information about this anywhere, they charge according to the fact. I don't respect that.

We had a very nice experience, the hotel is very nice and the staff are very attentive and friendly. We were six adults with an infant and were very satisfied.

Heritage charm hotel. Great product and service. Rooms are nicely decorated and design. Can hear noises as the building is old. Light sleeper take note.

We had a wonderful time in this beautifully renovated building from the VOC period with a past as a school and printing house. In the middle of the old Galle Fort and surrounded by old houses. Great service, delicious breakfast (we had dinner at other places within the fort) and a pleasant swimming pool. Highly recommended if you want to stay in the old fort!

The food was quite good; however the price was absolutelly out of range.prices in the menu doens't include taxes and srrvice charge.a dinner for two with one starter two mains, and one beer plus a cocktail and a bottle of water was 85 usd.san Pellegrino water was 10 usd!

Poolside dinner in the hotel restaurant, very good fish dishes as well as cocktails, attentive service and excellent value for money, highly recommended!

I had dinner in their restaurant during a visit to Galle fort.
The service is excellent and the view of the swimming pool in the internal courtyard creates a very nice atmosphere.
Among the dishes there are several variations on the classics of Sri Lankan cuisine, I ate a very good Moroccan lamb.
The prices are more in line with European restaurants as well as the environment.
Great for a cuddle during a trip to discover Sri Lanka.
Very nice and attentive owner.

Mr Steve in the fort printers beautiful period property courtyard entrance staff 15 rooms small pool right on the street there is a guy from Serbia works there he. Is very knowledgeable about the town and hotel if you stay in galle give it a try

If Google had 6 stars for exceptional service, food and accommodation then this would be a rare time that I would rate them this for everything.

We were expecting a nice stay in a good hotel and our expectations were exceeded on everything.
A superb room (Prefect) and excellent food and service, as great cocktails.
Highly recommended and our thanks to the staff for a great day. Such a shame we oy stayed 1 night!

Amazing food, one of the best I ever did. Really different taste in the same menu and the dessert was perfect too.

The Fort Printers located within the UNESCO World Heritage Galle Fort is truly a unique experience. We stayed one night here in the headmaster suite which was unique in formation (the room was in 03 levels) and so very spacious.
It’s a beautifully renovated colonial mansion which has a centuries old history. Right now, it is a wonderful mix of the old world charm and the elegance minimalism of modern interiors. This is one of the few hotels within the Galle Fort which has a beautiful swimming pool.
Also, this place has some of the best food I’ve had on the whole island! The dishes are well thought out and beautifully executed and we ended up polishing the plates! Particularly loved the lamb tangine, roasted cauliflower, the pork belly and the pavlova which were absolutely gorgeous!
Peter is an amazing host and absolutely spoiled it’s! This place is truly a masterpiece of elegance and class in every since!

We loved our stay at this beautiful hotel, right in the centre of historic Galle Fort. We were very well looked after by the excellent team, food was wonderful (we had both breakfast and dinner there), and we really hope to visit again. Really a highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka.

Lovely stay at Fort Printers. Ab old school converted to a printing press and eventually to a hotel.

The rooms are great and the staff is helpful and ever smiling.

The best part of Fort Printers is it's focus on sustainability and minimal use of single use plastic.

It's right at the heart of Fort Galle, a great place to stay.

Amazing hotel. Design, atmosphere are amazing and perfect breakfast made all this as one of the best experience in Sri Lanka. Quite expensive, but it’s worth it …

I had a wonderful holiday at The Fort Printers. It's value for money with all the mindful comforts and amenities provided by them. The rooms are clean and good and done with great care looking in to the needs of the guest. Other than this the food, ambience and the staff is super good.
