It's up their as one of the best hostels I have stayed in. As a traveller I have stayed in many hostels during my travels and this one is top notch. It's away from the touristy commercial area of Hikkaduwa, located in a little forest overlooking a lake. The place has plenty of space, it's peaceful and the highlight of the place is the kitchen which in which I spent a lot of time during my two month stay here. I met a lot of awesome travellers and Robert (the owner) is friendly, engaging and a great host. I would definitely stay here in the future.

We went there to spend 2 days in Hikkaduwa for the weekend and it was a great experience. We received a very friendly welcome and we immediately felt so comfortable! The atmosphere is very great, directly at the lake with beautiful nature around, stunning. Two of us had the shared room and it was good, comfortable, clean and everything you need was there, including the mosquitonet, bedlinen etc. One of us had the single room with the private bathroom and it was also very comfortable, clean and you have a very beautiful view through the window. We also had a cooking class and it was so great! We really enjoyed it so much! It was so stunning to see how they made their curry and of course it was so delicious! We really loved it! All people there are so nice, friendly and lovely! Really wonderful persons and it was so familiar! We had the best weekend there! Thank you

Don't think I can put into words how lucky my friend and I felt to have found this place. The host was one of the kindest people I've met on my travels, he made us feel at home before we even booked a room:)

Everyone is so relaxed and you can do your own thing, wether that be social or just chilling on your own. Lots of artists in the hostel, and generally a very creative vibe.

We even got to use the canoe to take a trip around the lake. The princess suite was stunning, great bathroom and breathtaking views.

In general, an experience I'll keep with me forever: D

A must stay in sri lanka! This is one of the places where you could pay just to hang out.very creative & inspiring vibes! I have never felt so cared for by a host ever as well:) the coffee was amazing, the view fantastic, the price more than appropriate & i am broke guys.i didn't like hikkaduwa that much but i would always come back only to enjoy life in this magical place ;)

The wonderful place i get to know 3 months back and now it’s like my home. I mostly love Calming evenings and energetic mornings which is normal in the lake hostel. I call it the heaven of hikkaduwa. If you travel to sri lanka this is something you need to experience.

This is an unbelievable place in the middle of hikkaduwa. If you want a peaceful day with the nature but close by to the beach this is the perfect spot. Also the host is the most amazing person I have ever met. Looking forward to visit here again soon.

Very nice hostel, with a beautiful scenery and peaceful atmosphere! Very close to Hikkaduwa beach (easy to get to with a bus) but far away from noise of roads. The owner is very friendly and welcoming, highly recommend staying at the place and taking a boat on the lake!

I'm lucky.
It was a pleasant surprise to find out that Hikka is actually huge, and far from the beach on the shore of the lake there is a house. I barely got there at night, slept well, and in the morning I was stunned by the view.
The hospitable owner met me, treated me to a flatbread, and offered me a kayak ride.which I did not fail to take advantage of.it turned out to be a whole adventure, not appreciating the wind, I swam quite a distance from the house and on the way back I had to learn how to row more or less correctly to overcome the wind and waves and reach the shore, abrasions on the hands as a pleasant memory.
It’s a pity that there were no places in the room on the second night; without this place my trip would have been incomplete. Thank you!

This is absolutely magical property located on the hikkaduwa lagoon just 10 min away from the beach you get in to stunning jungle garden which was so thoughtfuly looked after. Staying in this place made me feel like Alice in Wonderland! So highly recommend!

The best hostel I‘ve been to in Sri Lanka. The location is just next to Hikkaduwa Lake. A bit far fro the beach, but there‘s a bus and you can also borrow bikes for free. The lake is beautiful and they offer a boat tour. The host is super friendly and helpful and a great cook. The hostel is well equipped for the price and very clean.

A peaceful tropical experience with a friendly staff and service. Value for money stay with a vibrant architecture. I would have given more than 5 stars. Cheers! Thanks for the love and hospitality poured on us! Highly recommended!
