Poor Service at all for Locals. Manager was quite okay with two staff who call Sadun and Pasindu. But when they served for locals, hotel owner barking at them, and telling not to serve locals… Owner and his wife both are behaving like locals are staying at there home for free of charge, Owner is a retired army officer and he is thinking it’s his commanding army camp… Not satisfied about foods also. Worst experience which i ever had for whole lifetime… Not recommend at all.

My favourite place in Unawatuna.

The loud music outside the resort is a real problem. It has been thudding all night and all morning. It will chase tourists away, kids don't spend the dollars the country needs. Adults do. Why is this allowed? We come for peace

Poor attitude towards local guests.all services are available for foreigners only. Even though the restaurant is ryt on the beach the restaurant users are not allowed to use the shower facilities. This is the way they treat the locals who are coming to support their business at times like this.

Perfect location and the friendliest staff! Big room with balcony and sea view. Great to see the sunrise! It’s amazing that you are right at the beach but you can easily walk to the main road. You can eat at the hotel or find different restaurants and shops just when you step out the hotel. Also for sunset it’s only a 5-10min Walk to a very nice Location. Perfect if you want to be at the beach but also in walking distance for restaurants and shops.

It was a wonderful stay at the Wave Beach Resort. We came for a whole weekend in March and the owner was sweet enough to give an AC room for a very very reasonable price. The cook made me a delicious spicy bbq fresh fish (paraw) with white wine sauce. I loved it. And we had amazing homely service. I truly with them all the best during this hard times.

The so called Barman (may not bea quilified person for the job) is doesn't know to treat their customers. Today we (me and my friends family) experienced a bad habit of him. Management: pl dont ignore this complain. He doesn't know how to talk to their costomers.

Staff is very attentive and the food was good. They have the best place to have a swim with a beautiful shore.

Inhouse restaurant is good but some options are overpriced.
Rice and noodles portions are quite large cost around 800-1000 is worth can be shared between two adults or three. Salards and potato chips served in almost all side dishes.
Fish and chicken dishes were good as well.
Restaurant is worth trying even if you are visiting the beach, for a meal or drink.they do have a bar on site too.

The hotel is at the end of Devala Road on the beach side. It has a small reception with a lounge area and then the property opens up to the beach, where the dining area is - its a nice setting. Dining on this beach is a good option and we liked it. Watch out for crows who might swoop in to devour your leftovers. It didn't bother us, we enjoyed feeding them and the beach doggies, actually. The rooms are all located upstairs, accessed by two different stairs. We stayed in the triple room at the 3rd floor and the view was perfect! It comes with a double bed, a single bed, a bathroom, a wall-built clothes cupboard with a safe, a fixed writing desk & two chairs. The balcony is nice, where the fridge & kitchen sink is also located. I liked that this pantry area is not inside the room - it helped keep the room clean & free of food smells. We loved watching the sea from this balcony, the different shades of blue were so mesmerising. All in all, the room and balcony were sufficiently spaced & furnished. All water outlets had both hot & cold water. We really liked everything about the room in general. The next best thing was the food. The hotel's restaurant has an affordable menu. I recommend the seafood dishes, as they are mostly freshly-caught. Be nice to the cook and he might offer the fresh catches of the day and suggestions on how you'd like them cooked. Best dishes were the Garlic Prawns and the Grilled Fish. The dishes are not loaded with spices, and cooked just the right way to bring out the best flavours. The breakfast omelette & Coconut Roti with curry are also delicious. The place is popular among locals so avoid weekends/holidays if you don't like crowds. During the south coast season, the sea is clean, mostly clear & not too deep. We loved going in for a morning dip and then have our breakfast right after at the beach. We booked for 03 nights & extended by 01 night because we liked the place that much.

The room was a little dusty when we arrived. We cleaned it up ourselves anyway since Covid was on the rise and we're super-careful. Business is hard during the pandemic and the hotel wasn't fully-staffed yet, so we were sympathetic. The floor boards near the bathroom door squeak and creak when stepped on, which can be a nuisance when one goes to the lu in the night. There's a freshwater outdoor shower in the beach to be used after a dip in the sea. I think the hotel needs to move their garbage cans from that vicinity, as it's quite unpleasant. The hotel doesn't allow you to take food upstairs, which is a bit disappointing, since it would have been nice to have a good meal with that view - but we understand that this might be due to unruly guests making a mess of things in the room.
The overall experience wasn't affected by these minor issues, which is why we will still be coming back here in the future.

Great place at Unawatuna beach. Food is extraordinary delicious. Very good quality cocktails. Super friendly and very helpful staff and the owner. And all this is for very reasonable price. Highly recommend this place.

This is the best place at the unawatuna beach access. In front of the hotel beach access is there. This hotel located at the best area at the beach. Double room ac price is 5000/= triple 6000/= with AC, they have liquor and beer in their bar anytime. A family is running tge business. Their food is good but bit expensive. But there are many food stalls when you search nearby. No parking facilities. Rooms are value for money but acceptable condition. Initially need negotiating things very clearly. They charge service charge for food and liquor. As it it a family.security is there. Little children can play on the beach day and night on this safe beach. Recommend this place for families and couples.

This property didn't have the room I booked via Booking.com. I got to know that only after visiting there around 7pm on the date. They didn't inform me in advance. So I was really frustrated and had to go searching for another place to stay in the that night.

So I don't recommend this place. They won't give you the rooms for the prices stated on websites.

Great locationStaff was a good & freindly. They do the best. Good food & beverage. Clean & quality Rooms. Everything were good. Happy to stay in this resort. Best place to relax your mind. I hope to visit again this place. Thanks for the everything (Wave Beach Resort)

Don't get me wrong, this is not the Shangri-la but for the rate I got this was well worth the money.
Clean rooms, AC works without an issue, bathrooms are good but the best deal is that the food is amazing and reasonably priced.
The staff are very friendly and helpful too

Nice place and the view is excellent.the beach activities like surfing, are amazing around the area. Parking space is not so sufficient fo many vehicles.
