Price value is absolutely not good. We got a room where the trash from the previous guests was left in the bin, no toiletpaper was provided, mold in the fridge, there were cockroaches… in the end we left without staying the night as it was too dirty and terrible service.

Situated in very beautiful quiet place near the dam. 20min drive to the most of the other attractions. Enjoyed original Sri Lankan food during the stay.

Dont recommend at all. The pool was disgusting, not clean at all. Poor service. Food was no where there. No menu. Rooms were ok but need to work on the bugs issue. Feedback was given to them directly at the point of check out. Dissappointed and a waste of money.

One of the greatest place. Clam environment. Very clean and the most important thing is that the service they provided was superb. Highly recommend for relaxation with your loved ones

I Stayed at the property for 2 nights and was highly disappointed.

Pros:

a) peaceful location
b) close to the lake

Cons:

a) Swimming pool was not clean.b) Manager Laxshi was extremely rude.c) Rooms we’re not clean.d) I ordered rice and prawn curry - Both were unclean.e) Chicken barbecue - Chicken was raw.

When complained to Laxshi, she said I was telling lies: (

As long as Laxshi is working in the resort, don’t book - she will disappoint you at every interaction.

Owner of the resort is not in SL and the place is not run professionally.

As the place is at a slightly remote location, you will be dependent on the kitchen and they don’t have a good chef.

I was trying to book the whole property on 15th to 17th April 2 nights. Initially they offered double FB as15500lkr & triple FB as 17500lkr and the they said that they might be able to give an even better rate since its 2 nights. Then they kept us waiting 1 whole day and gave us the new rates as double FB as15500lkr & triple FB as 19500lkr and though the rate has gone up still we where OK and asked to confirm the booking and for bank details. Then they replied that they cannot confirm the booking due to an operational issue. Again the day after they offered us another rate which is double FB as19500lkr & triple FB as 22500lkr
If this is the way they that Sri Lankans what more to thinks how they scammed foreign guests! Their approach towards business is highly unprofessional and cunning.this business owners should be ashamed of them selves

STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND! That was auwful experience to live in this hotel. When we arrived there we found a lot of towels and sheets placed on dinner tables. At evening I found in a bathroom big cockroach, but he run away. At the same time in sink was sat a little frog. A bit later, when my girlfriend unpack our bed, she found another big cockroach right in between our matrasses! She was very scared and cried. At this moment I've decided immidately leave this hotel and informed administartor about this. When we packed in a rush our luggage she and some other persons came to our room and asked to show my passport. After that she blamed me that I stole another guest passport. She was very agressive, loud and cry to me. Some minutes we were paralyzed with such charges. We tried to leave this hotel, but staff are blocked the doors and locked us. The police was called. When offices arrived they and we explained situation and our luggage was completely checked. Of course nothing was found in our luggage, but administator continue cry on me. Also they tried to charge some money from us. Hopefully this sutiation was ended happily for us, and police officers were very correct.

Very nice peaceful place. Spacious and clean room. Very kind and helpful staff. Highly recommended

Positives-

1. Great location by the lake.

2. Good option for nature lovers.

3. Lovely for the ones in distress of the COVID situation, there are only 7 cabans and they are in a good distance from each other, so are the tables in the restaurant. Pool friendly.

4. Very friendly staff. We travelled with a 6 month old and they helped prepare the baby's pureed meal too.

Negatives-

1. Electric kettle provided in the room but no tea or coffee facilities available to make our own. Evening tea when ordered was charged seperately.

2. On day 1, only 1 variety of fish was offered. There were 8 adults and 6 children in our group who went on a FULL BOARD basis and not everyone eats that particular fish. When egg was requested, it was charged seperately.

3. Our big group stayed 2 nights/3 days, and all 3 meals were pretty much the same. No variety. Not much choice. Not appealing.

If the negatives are addressed, 3 star can definitely move to 5 star quality!

A small place with 7 cabanas and a view of a lake. A developing place. There's a swimming pool as well.
Tidy rooms with AC and hot water. The place is ideal for a family get away. You have the space to enjoy yourself.
But the choices of foods are less. We can't select anything. Like they offer you meat and if you don't eat you can order eggs but that cost you almost like a upscale hotel. If you order extra it costs you a lot more than what we expect.
I'd suggest to improve the menu. Like at least 3 course meal with couple of choices.
The helping staff doing a great job though. They never say no for your request. Willing to fulfil your choices with maximum effort.

A wonderful gateway only 3 hours away from Colombo city center that will bring you straight in nature. You will enjoy the lake view and the beautiful concert of all the surrounding birds. Wonderful place for yoga retreats and you will only have to open your eyes to see amazing peacocks and peahen walking around. Excellent service and quality for price. We highly recommend. Clean and quiet place overlooking the weerawila lake. 5 Clean cabanas with AC & Hot water. Recommended for ROOM ONLY.

No food choices at all and no menu to be found. Only had 2-3 dishes for each diet. There's no in house chef, no staff, only an elderly couple looking after the place and serving food made by a visiting cook.
We stayed for 2 nights and had a really bad experience with food. We had to eat a fish curry saying it was pork and eggs with shells on it (check pics)

Viewing reviews make others misguided and taking their chance of getting a splendid experience. This place is really stunning with good foods and friendly service. Located in a calm clean environment and rooms are well mannered.

The bathrooms are horrible and room is not clean and ugly smell vomming fron it. Also the pool was dirty and they charged high prices for meals but we can make that meals for low prices than that (like mathara bath kade). Only the place was quite good. Customer service is very very bad. I believe if these reviews are TRUE.

This place is top notch. The surrounding was out of this world. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching peacocks running around and buffalos having mud bath with the lake sprinkled with sunshine. When it was hot we jumped into the good size pool to lap swim. There were plenty of chairs and sunbeds by the pool, even with hammocks. The room and bathroom were both spacious and tastefully designed. Water pressure was good and hot water was abundant. Home cooking meals were tasty and fairly priced. This guesthouse only have 10 rooms in 5 independent blocks. Big enough to have a pool and in house chef and small enough to feel intimate. The family and the staff did very well to make our stay comfortable.

You can easily arrange a tuk-tuk from Tissa town for 2-3 USD. Or write to the owner to help you. Taxi from Ella or Mirissa are both around 40USD and take 2-3 hours.

The owner also arranged two half-day Safaris for us. Both drivers were experienced, could communicate in English and knew the park well. They came to the guesthouse to pick us up and we paid the guesthouse owner at the end. Completely hassle free.

For this price range this guesthouse is a steal. Book it before it is full.

(The only Nalaka is a medical doctor. When I was there he kindly helped me with my illness. I appreciated that a lot as we all know how terrible one feels getting sick in a foreign country.)

This is one of the best places we stayed during our travel in Sri Lanka. It’s located near to the lake. We had a nice evening in the pool. Well maintained rooms and we were thrilled at their bathroom setup. Have witnessed different birds.
All good, but we asked for them to prepare the dinner by 8 pm because we had a two year old baby with us and they delayed and we were offered around 9pm. So be prepared for delays if the hotel is occupied.

We stayed 2 nights at this place. So sad to mention that the 1st night was horrible. We had to wake up around 1am due to power failure, and my husband and I had to roam around in search of hotel staff to inform the issue as there were no intercom fascility. Even the contact given in the web was not reachable. And we had to spend that night with mosquitos and drenching sweat till dawn to get a solution. Though we informd it in the morning they failed to solve the problem for hours and we had to go for a new room.
Not only that, some of our friends had to share their rooms with frogs and cockroaches. Commods were not cleaned. Food was not good as well
The barbecue and bites were totally overpriced and we honestly felt that they cheated us.
The whole experience was totally disappointing.
I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Perfect place. Calm and quiet place. I love that view and the room. Rooms are cottages type. Lovely place. Owner and the staff was friendly and their service was brilliant. Highly recomend this place.
