My husband and I stayed at the hotel nearby for 5 days and wanted to have lunch and dinner with the ocean view. When we tried food here, we absolutely fell in love with the food, lovely atmosphere, the sound of waves. Also the owner of the restaurant was very friendly. We tried soups here- amazing, lobster, crabs, chicken- the food was very good. As I have quite sensative digestive system, I was really woried abbout the food, but owner made it non spicy for me and always fresh.
During our stay we tried a few other places- but decided that Eden Reviere restaurant is the best, and don’t need to try anywhere else. Maybe the prices are little bit higher, but food and service are worth it. Thank you for making our ocean experience very tasty

I had a fantastic reflexology leg and foot massage here by Vaishnavi. Unlike quite a few other highly rated spas in the area, Vaishnavi clearly knew what she was doing and the massage was pure bliss. Hearing the sound of the waves also made the treatment all the more relaxing. I’d 100% recommend.

Super massage accompanied by the sound of the sea; the lady knows what she is doing! I was lucky enough to be the first customer of the season - wasn't there for the last time.

Do not got to this place!
We ordered 2 whole Lobsters and two bottles of white wine. Our hosts decided to bill us for 2kgs of Lobsters! The bill was AU$180 - quite excessive by any means! By far the most expensive meal ever in SL. Initially, what we had ordered was delivered and eaten. As we were finishing off the meal another two lobsters were delivered which we could not possibly eat. After explaining we had eaten what we had ordered, the host told us we could return the next day to eat the 'remainder' of the meal - the extra serving of Lobster that had just been delivered. We requested the bill and it was at this point that we realised we were being overcharged. They had charged us $180 Australian Dollars. Clearly given our recent dining experiences over the course of two extensive visits to Sri Lanka, had we not budgeted for such a meal and this cost seemed exorbitant in comparison with every other meal eaten in this beautiful country. We had LKR$15,000 in wallet at the time. We were embarrassed and felt bad we did not have the cash to pay the bill. The restaurant readily accepted this amount we had, after sensing our uneasiness of not being able to pay, and ensured we committed to return the following day, so they could 'reheat' the extra Lobsters that had been delivered to us the night before that we didn't eat, and we could pay the money outstanding on the previous nights dinner. After having 24 hours to review the experience based on our experiences plus the fact that we did not feel comfortable from a food safety perspective of eating reheated Lobster, we agreed the amount we had left was in fact the price for the food we had ordered (not what was over delivered) and decided not to return to this establishment. We wanted to change our dining experience within this little village, as we were certain this was not reflective of the rest of restaurants/cafes, shops and humble workers who pride themselves on welcoming tourists. Two days later, whilst in the same beach, when we were dining in another establishment, we were confronted by the Owner of this restaurant demanding we pay the 'outstanding' amount of the bill. We flat our refused to pay anything further and re iterated we had settled our bill at the time in accordance with what had been ordered. We had never felt taken advantage of during any of either of our stays within Sri Lanka, in fact the local Sri Lanka people had warmed our stomachs and our hearts on a daily basis. These people were agressive, confrontational and definitely not what we had been accustomed to in this beautifully innocent part of the world. We were firm in return, stood our ground and said there was "no way" we were paying another cent after validating the experience and payment. We invited them to call the police and within a short amount of time, a police representative did arrive (who happened to be a 'friend' of this restaurant owner). He turned up with a small entourage in tow, requesting the balance of the money be paid immediately. Needless to say the arrival of this group was extremely intimidating, however we showed images of the food delivered, the bill and the money paid. In the end the police left without saying a word and the "lovely" people from Eden silently retreated. These guys give SL a bad reputation and should be really ashamed of their actions. We love Sri Lanka and I'm really disappointed to say that after two visits, I've never encountered a situation or scammers like these guys. We were advised later that many of the locals in Tangalle don't trust the owners or operators of Eden. If you eat here be prepared to be ripped off. Pains me to write this review as I've never had to deal with this before in SL.
