Jasmine cafe and sea food restaurant

We were there twice and both times we ate delicious soups, fish and desserts. In our opinion, we highly recommend the grilled fish and the grilled calamari with yellow rice and chips.

Please be patient when visiting, as the dishes are all freshly prepared and therefore the waiting time is a little longer. For us, the food was worth every minute of waiting!

The food is good. However the service isn't that good!
We arrived here and it was closed! Then a man shows up saying the restaurant was from him! I asked him if he was Jasmine (because it's women's name) and he said yes
After looking at the pictures definitely he was not jasmine (probably it's her husband).
The fish I'm not sure if it was from the day (to be honest) and the side dishes it's just for laugh (you can see on the pictures below).
I bet Jasmine would make such a better service.
This is not side dishes! This is just to cheat the clients! Next time please serve better your guests! We ordered 2 more side dishes (which we paid and it was quite expensive) after giving us a small plate with 10/15 fries sticks the man told us that he didn't had more fries. It was quite a bad service! I feel sorry for Jasmine because definitely she would make such a better service!
The day after we went to other restaurant amazing! I had boiled potatoes as Side dish it was probably 5x more what this man served us.

I have tried so hard to find good vegan food in Tangalle, and Jasmine is the best! The owner is vegan and will make delicious veg curry, kattu roti, and other Sri Lankan dishes totally vegan. You won’t wanna miss out on this gem. Super good, super authentic, not touristy.

Be sure to try the pineapple rice and change your life!

Highly recommend! The food was the best that we had on Sri Lanka so far. Especially the garlic rice with curry was incredible and the best curry we know. The owner is super friendly and polite and even gave us bananas from his plantation as a present. We would definitely come back!

We ate here both nights during our stay in Tangalle because the food was so good & the family were lovely. The son of the family chatted to us whilst our food was cooking (he was so sweet & polite.very nice to chat to him both nights). The prices were also very reasonable - we found that other restaurants were expensive & above our budget. Highly recommend eating here if you're staying in Tangalle! (Can recommend the vegetable curry & rice, veg kottu & veg noodles) **also for fellow vegans.my partner & I are both vegan & found plenty of options here! **

A really special place with some of the best fish I’ve ever had. Really sweet and considerate hosts and an authentic experience. This was our regular place in Tangalle. Great prices too!

Very kind family and delicious food, highly recommend to go. They were celebrating their son's birthday during our stay and even invited us for cake:) Lovely people.

Nice food, nice staff, very caring! The owner behaved toward us like a friend, gave us travel advice and even helped me out with aloe vera plants after I had a sunburn. Highly recommended place

Wir hatten ein richtig gutes Frühstück hier. Die Rotis waren die besten, die wir in Sri Lanka hatten!

We stopped by here for breakfast. They were only opening the gates as we walked passed but they invited us in.

We didn't take any photos of the food unfortunately because it didn't last long enough.

Absolutely delicious. We ordered one sri lankan breakfast with hoppers, and one cheese tomato omelette. Both dishes were mouth watering.

We also had a pot of milk tea which again was lovely.
The owners were super nice and welcoming also.

Wir hatten das Rice and Curry und kottu vegetable. Als Getränk gab es ein Lion und watermelon Juice. Das suesse paar war sehr hilfsbereit und sehr höflich. Das Essen hat super geschmeckt. Es gab beim Reis and Curry marinierte jackfruit und Mango Chutney. Komplett neue Geschmackserfahrungen für uns. Top erlebnis. Anrichtung der Speisen etwas länger gedauert aber Ergebnis war top.

Lovely family owned restaurant. Very sweet people with good hearts and tasty local food. Highly recommend it.

Had some vegetable roti as starter and grilled fish as main dish. It was very tasty and i can totally recommend! Do not miss! The owners are very kind!

Really nice food, and owners! They were always smiling and making you feel like you're a part of their family. We had a cooking lesson which a can trully recommend:)
