Moon Light Guest House

We spent a wonderful 2 days at Moon Light Guest House. The owners were very helpful. They prepared us great local meals better than in restaurants around and also organized for us perfect all day safari with other couple (thank you Guys!). If you are looking for the beat guide Bodi is the choice! We were the only ones who saw a leopard that day (moreless 300 cars enters the park every day).

A very authentic and recommended place in an idyllic setting surrounded by rice fields. The host took very good care of us, we arrived with the Tuk Tuk a bit damaged and he himself took it to the mechanic the next day when we were on a safari that he arranged for us himself. The room was very complete and the meals very healthy and with local food. He surprised us with a very good fish for dinner. 100% recommended.

It was the best experience to stay in that place the owner and his family are so lovely and helpful. We had together so great time. Rooms are clean and made in nice style and place around the guesthouse is stunning. Food that they serve is delicious. And for sure if you are here you have to go for safari with that guys ️

Best place we had so far in Sri Lanka. Very clean and comfortable accommodation. Guest house is surrounded by rice fields. It's calm and green. Especially, if you're coming from the beach side like Mirissa, it fells like paradise here. The guest house is run by a family. Everybody was friendly and honest. We were supported with everything we needed, e.g. Safari tour and transfers for reasonable price. The food was delicious, actually the best we had so far.

We had an amazing stay at Moon Light guest house. The room and bathroom were very big and clean with good water pressure. The guest house is picturesquely nestled between rice fields and has a lovely garden with hammocks and various exotic trees. The views are great! The host was one of the friendliest people we have met in Sri Lanka and did everything in his power to make us feel at home. He even cooked some of the best curries for us that we've tasted during our holidays. Perhaps most importantly, this place is a perfect departure point to go on safari in Yala national park. The host himself is also a safari guide and has many contacts to organise safaris - they'll pick you up, buy the tickets for you, you basically don't have to worry about anything. The price was very fair and the experience amazing. All in all, we highly recommend!

Amazing guest house, beautiful gardens with hammocks and plenty of places to chill out and relax. Host is incredible and will go above and beyond for you. We did a full day safari tour in Yala National Park and had the best time, with many close encounters with elephants and other wildlife. The home-made meals from the host's family are truly authentic Sri Lankan dishes and absolutely delicious. No need to eat anywhere else! I can't recommend highly enough!

We were extremely satisfied with our stay, the guesthouse owner Sanjeewa took great care of us and he helped us to book a safari which is also run by the guesthouse and even made a breakfast boxes when we had to leave early for the bus next day. The guesthouse house has beautiful view over the rice fields from garden as well. The safari experience was great and all thanks to our driver Ishan, we couldn’t ask for anyone better! He was experienced and passionate about the National park and very knowledgeable as well, especially his favourite leopards (we spotted 2 on our safari tour) and birds. You could tell he cared about the nature (went to pick up the plastic rubbish he found on a road after other visitors). Can’t recommend enough!

I cannot rave enough about how good this place is. Fabulous hosts, fabulous food, fabulous tour/safari bookings, clean and well maintained. Sited on the edge of a lush padi field gives an aura of tranquility.

Very nice place with energetic owner! We had a large and very clean room. Food was delicious too!

Amazing house: clean and comfortable. Huge breakfast: plenty of fruits, hoppers, roti, toasts. Sanjeewa, the owner, is really friendly. If he sees this: please, substitute bathroom curtain for a door and a ceiling, so you cannot share the smell with your roommate. I highly recommend this place. By far our best stay in Sri Lanka.

Had a really good stay there. Truly a family business providing excellent service to their guests. Rooms were clean, food was locally made and delicious, host was always ready to assist with any questions and additional arrangements if needed (taxi, safari etc.)

I would give 6 stars if I could. We stayed here only one night before the safai at Yala and it was very nice. At arrival we were offered a refreshing mango smoothie that we enjoyed in the big garden facing a rice field that unfortunately was already harvested and burnt few days before we arrived. But we didn't mind because the garden itself was lovely. We had dinner here, cooked by the owner's father. Vegetable rice and curry that I am still dreaming at night because it was the very best food I had during my whole trip in SL. The room was basic, sparkling clean.

Dear users, i m regular tourist, as per the reviews in websites they are giving positive reviews but they are clearly mentioned in last moment that they are cancelling bookings, so better book something trustworthy.

Don’t be in hurry to book this property, they will fool you anytime.

Sehr schöne ruhige Lage. Sauberes Bad, WiFi, Klima. Unglaublich freundliche und hilfsbereite Gastgeber! Unbedingt mindestens zwei Nächte buchen, sonst verpasst man das original Sri-Lanka-Frühstück.

Wonderful location! The room itself is big and modern, with air conditioning and free wifi. The host is very kind and welcoming, and does offer an excellent dinner which really competes with local restaurants.

The real highlight was the safari tour of Yala National park which our host expertly organised for us - we highly recommend booking through these guys as we were really well looked after.

Really good place, Mr. Nuwan is very hospitable and service is marvelous love it. Want to go again!

Perfect guesthouse with perfect staff. Reasonable price and western quality of accomodation. I have also seen a wild peacock on the adjacent rice field.
