I would highly recommend staying anywhere else. This place is not worth the money. The owner does not care for his guests. There was construction going on through the entire night in the room next to ours that started at 9 pm and ended around 6am, despite us asking at 1 am for them to stop so we could get some sleep.
The place is a little run down which explains the renovations, but our balcony door did not open. Because of this we asked for the remote for the AC which the owner did not want to give us and tried to move us to a different room that was under renovation.

Even if there was no construction going on the place is located right off the main road so is quite loud from traffic. There are nice places down the little road towards silent beach that would be a far better option.

Noisy construction going on inside the hotel from 7 pm until 6 am. Continued at 1 am despite our requests for quiet. No regard for guests.

Very average place to stay.parking was good.the manager seems distressed over something and they kept my NIC and gave it when i checked out. (im not sure about the legal aspect of keeping an NIC by unauthorized person) I dont know why ppl rated this place as 4 outa 5. It should be around 2.i think the place is wasted.they would have developed the place much more better.

Good value for a reasonable price. Closed to the Muthu there are some restaurants you can eat sea food or continental food. The room was very clean and comfy. The owners were really nice and helpful. I have stayed there longer than in my previous plans.

Nice and clean accommodation. Air condition. Delicious breakfast. Owner found out motorbikes for us and helped us with transfer to Mirissa. I can recommend

Superb place to stay near tangalla, beliatta. Rooms are comfortable and clean. But space is not enough. Owner's home located behind of the hotel and there is enough freedom. Good parking space.
There are so many visiting places near by this hotel. Hummane, tangalle beach, Dickwella and etc.

This is a nice place. Freedom and good environment. Owner is very kind and helpful. Family rooms, foods and beverage also available. Near to Tangalle beach and town. Main roads near to this.

We had a room without A/C in the building on the back of the garden (away from the road). The room was spacious, clean and had a nice balcony with view into the garden. Sri Lankan breakfast was very special, tasty and plentiful. Recommended.

It's a good value for the price. I stayed in the budget room for about $10 per night. The interior is very nice, clean, and quiet. For the budget room, only a cold shower is available (which is sometimes refreshing). It is a 10 minute walk from silent beach, which is pretty, but very few shaded areas and the waves are large, with a strong pull back (rip tide). The breakfast served at the hotel is large and tasty for 600 lkr. I needed a motor bike to get around, which Muthu owners provided, but at a more expensive price than other rental places (1200 lkr as opposed to 1000 elsewhere). The scooter was unstable/squirrelly and I often felt as though I was going to spin out. I've been riding scooters for the past two months all over SE Asia, and this was the worst scooter. The owners are difficult to find at times. There were periods when there was not a soul around, though I looked everywhere and was calling out for assistance. Luckily, I had my phone and was able to call, often reaching the man of the house, but he rarely seemed to be at the property. This is understandable, as they have children and live their own lives. Overall, I would stay here again, as the staff is sweet and the price was right.
