Sansala guesthouse

I was here in January with my friends. It was absolutely excellent. The owners were friendly and hospitable. Whenever we needed anything, they made it happen. The rooms were cosy and clean, equipped with everything possible. The price was amazing for the experience. Don't trust the one bad review, everything was really great and affordable. We plan on going back soon.

We stayed at Sansala for 3 nights, we didn’t have a booking but they accepted us and were very kind. The rooms were clean and modern. For the price, it’s all you need. The front porch was nice to sit and relax, we enjoyed reading books and listening to music with beautiful plants surrounding us. In the morning, we got a delicious egg breakfast with fresh fruit and toast.
They provided us with information about tangalle and tips for our continual travels.

The beach is less than 5 min walk down a short path. At the beach there are 4 restaurants. Each restaurant has lounge chairs with shade that you can sit at. We only bought a water and a beer and they were ok with us staying there.
The beach is small and a little private. Great if you want to get away from a busy beach. There is also a nice walk you can do to the far left.

It’s about 10 mins in a tuk tuk to tangalle city center, too far to walk in my opinion but a tuk tuk cost about 250 rupees, there are many near sansala because there are lots of resorts in the area.

Terrible experience. We enter with my girlfriend and the hotel isn’t the place showed in the picture. We start talking with the manager and they started yelling. He want us to pay a cancellation for something that they don’t provide! Finally the manager insulted me. Stay away!

A beautiful little home stay run by a charming and welcoming family. Set in beautifully maintained and tranquil tropical gardens within close proximity to a number of stunning beaches. Even more beautiful than the photographs! Amazing home cooked food (we highly recommend the rice and curry), clean and comfortable room and thoughtful touches throughout such as decorative water bowls containing hibiscus flowers. The family went out of their way to order me a birthday cake and decorate our dinner table after my girlfriend had contacted them prior. A truly wonderful stay. No negatives at all! Thank you so much!
