We booked the tour from Hiriketiya via Udawalawe to Ella. It was an awesome day. The Tuk Tuk is really spacious and comfy and we really enjoyed the drive. We also made some stops for views and infos along the way. Special thanks to Sara - our jeep driver at the Safari. He showed us so many animals and even knows some of the names in German:)

I can only recommend this safari to everyone! They put in so much effort. It was my mother's birthday and they organized a surprise cake for her in the middle of the jungle! The guide Sarah was great and showed us so many animals. The highlight for us was the elephant family with a baby. Highly recommended if you want to have a great experience. Everything worked perfectly, on time and super nice.

This was a great experience we would highly recommend, definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Akila was very friendly and showed us lots of lovely spots and animals on the way to Udawala and to Tangalle.overall an excellent experience and riding in the tuk tuk was great fun.sarath (sara) took us on our safari and put in extra effort to guide us around the park to see animals. He explained all about the different animals. We really appreciated that the drivers respected the animals and never had more than 3 jeeps Parked near an elephant. Both Akita and Sara were very friendly and stopped whenever we needed and answered any questions. Overall this was great and we would recommend for anyone travelling in Sri Lanka

We booked the journey from Mirissa to Ella via Udawalawe safari. Everything went smoothly. The communication was great and easy with whatsapp. Our driver Akila stopped on the way to show us animals, a lagoon and the Ravana waterfall. We saw many animals during the safari and our private jeep driver shared a lot of knowledge.

The price might seem high at first, but while listening to all the people offering their services, we realized that it indeed is a fair price.

Sri Lankan traffic and driving can be a bit hectic if not used to it, but Akila’s driving style was very calm and safe.

We were a little bit anxious about being 4 hours in a tuktuk, as our previous experiences with tuktuk or taxi drivers had been a bit tiring with all the unasked-for advice and selling. But none of that with Akila, we got te relax and enjoy the ride:)

Thank you again!

In short: Tuk Tuk Comfy, LTD Safari version. Reckless driving guarantees you will reach your destination quickly. You took us to watch whales/dolphins, but what I will remember more than that is overtaking the Mercedes C200. Tuk Tuk to the world!

We went to Yala safari with Akilla. Liked everything very much.
First of all - Akilla is a very organised person. Everything was on time, he answered all the questions very quickly. By tuk-tuk we went from Tangalle to yala park and then to a jeep with a very experienced safari driver.
Secondly - the driver in safari knew very well what to do to see the animals from the best place.
Both Akilla and the driver speak English good and both are very friendly persons.
Later Akilla also organised us the trip to Ella and it was also really great.
Safari - is what we should have seen at least once. Animals in wild nature. Elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles and we even saw leopard, but very quickly. Many birds and beautiful scenery.

Akila is very good tour guide! He showed us everything what we might like and also stopped everywhere we asked. We went with him to Ella, South coast tour, beaches near Tangalle and also Udawalawe safari, where guy Sara was also very good.
When we come again we will choose again you!

We took a trip from Tangala to Ella with stops at the waterfalls at the 9 Arches and Psarzat Adam.
Akila and his partner are nice and very helpful, the tuk tuk is spacious and comfortable, it is very important for him to show us everything interesting on the way, the train ride is very nice and so are all the places on the trip

I recently had the pleasure of going on a guided tour with Akila and I must say it was an extraordinary experience.

They truly went above and beyond to make the trip memorable and enjoyable and provided nothing short of a VIP experience. Their enthusiasm, and passion for the destination were truly infectious, and it made the entire trip even more captivating.

Overall, I cannot recommend them highly enough as a tour guide. If you have the opportunity to join one of their tours, do not hesitate—they will undoubtedly make your adventure truly extraordinary.

We had initially booked our vacation for Zanzibar but had to cancel it due to Marburg Virus concern there. Sri Lanka seemed to be a great option from Qatar due to economical direct short flights. We did a lot research on what company to use for tours and airport transfers. Tuk Tuk had the best reviews and seemed to be the obvious choice. I whatsapped them and got outstanding support with all my questions answered. Chanaka was our driver that came and picked us up from the airport. He was very nice, humble and informative. Our drive to Anantara Tangalle was extremely quite and comfortable where all of us (myself, wife 9,7,2 yr old kids) fell asleep.
We then used them for Udawalawe Safari for which Chanaka picked us up from the hotel and brought us to the park entrance in about 1.5-2 hrs where Sarath (Safari driver) provided us with a wonderful tour. We saw elephant, crocodiles, bird, buffalos, and deer. There was thunderstorm and heavy rain during our tour but the jeep was well covered and we thoroughly enjoyed the weather (as we live in Qatar where it doesn't rain often). Sarath new his way around the park and stopped at various locations wherever he could point out wildlife to us.
Chanaka and Akila (tour owner and whatsapp operator) picked us up from the hotel to drop us off at the airport. This was again a very peaceful drive and Akila shared a lot information about the various locations that came along the way.
I want to sincerely thank Akila and his team for the outstanding job they do to satisfy the customer with their above and beyond customer service. I am already looking forward to contacting them again whenever I return.

We started planning our trip to Sri Lanka back in February this year. Upon finding our hotel and making a reservation we soon began looking at ground transport and day trips. I found the details for TukTukSafari Tangalle on TripAdvisor and sent an email. Within literally minutes Akila responded with a What’s app message. From this point forwards Akila has been nothing short of outstanding! He has worked pretty much as our personal travel coordinator and has been more than happy to help us with any questions and concerns. As Sri Lanka sadly passed through many challenges this year we actually (because of UK government advice) needed to cancel the trip. Akila was more than understanding and supportive of our predicament. Luckily one week before the scheduled travel date UK government changed and relaxed the advice for Sri Lanka. We swiftly changed all our travel plans back to the original plan, and I can’t tell you how happy we are that we did. The people here in Sri Lanka are the most genuine, kind and friendly people I have ever encountered and I’ve travelled extensively. Akila met us with his friendly smile at the Colombo airport as planned and had us brought swiftly down in comfort to Tangalle. During the journey Akila provided ice cold waters and the wonderful local Lion beer. We experienced a magical day to Ella with train journey to Nanaoya, an absolute must experience when in Sri Lanka. Our second day outing was to the Udawalawe national park for safari, the day was fabulous and amazing to see all the animals in their own habitat. Sarath and Akila where both exceptionally knowledgeable about all the animals and species we saw in the park. They both also had exceptional eye sight for spotting the animals which amazed us! Lastly we had a lovely Tangalle city tour with Akila and Chanaka, the town itself has some exceptional sites, be sure not to miss out! We are sad to be leaving Sri Lanka and the warm and caring hospitality that Akila has shown us. Please do not arrange your trips, tours and transport via your hotel. Show support to the local community by supporting their business, I can promise you’ll not be disappointed. Thank you so much Akila for everything. We will return again soon our friend.

Everything was great. The contact before the tour was great and the price was totally fair. Our tour started at 5am. Akila was on time and very attentive. The safari with sarath was just as perfect, too. Sarath give us some informations about the animals. Everything was as discussed. We can only recommend a tour with akila (and sarath).

Akila is the best! His Tuk Tuk is one of a kind, you wont see another like it! So comfortable, it's like a lounge on wheels. He's a genuine lovely man, my wife and I took multiple trips with him. He's on honest guy and charges a fair price. I highly recommend him, we'll look to use for all our trips around Sri Lanka next time we come to the island. You won't find a better tuk tuk driver or guide in Sri Lanka. He was even our guide for our Yala Safari, and he was great!

Had a very amazing trip to Yala National Park! Saw many wild animals. Safari took longer as expected, because the driver did not forfeit to see an Leopard and we did! Tuktuk is very comfortable and spacious even for a long trip (3 hours one way)! Also a Little Break at a street food restaurant on the way home in the evening was no problem!

The initial plan was to visit wildlife reserves of Sri Lanka, after spending 3 nights at Mirissa thus Yala National Park was the obvious choice, being a neighboring region. However, with such astounding natural beauty, as an afterthought, felt it would be better to relish the landscape and countryside, than wildlife reserves. Wildlife exploration requires far more time and patience, hence decided to drop it in this visit, except whatever loomed in naturally.
Rather and quite interestingly, we landed up traversing a 180 Km adventurous sojourn with Akila on his Tuk-Tuk from the seashore town all the way up to Ella in the hill country (elevation 1200m), with a brief stopover at Udawalawe National Park.
Nowhere in the world, you can even think of exploring such long distances on a Tuk-Tuk. In India, you would possibly be not allowed or break your back! Overall, this episode was the most unique part of the journey. No doubt, the mere thought was exciting!
We enjoyed every bit of the odyssey, more so when you’re Tuk-Tuk is fitted with WiFi, battery charging outlets, and adequate stock of mineral water. The interiors of Akila’s Tuk-Tuk is well engineered for your comfort in terms of the seat and space. My worry before the start of the trip was about fitting in our 5-piece luggage (3 trolley bags and 2 backpacks all cabin baggage size), and I had repeatedly pestered Akila, if it would cause any problem. Eventually it turned out to be an unnecessary worry.
One thing that became aptly clear was that Sri Lanka’s countryside is as good, as its cities & urban locations. There is practically no difference. The roads are as good, and hospitality facilities (restaurants & toilets) are available all along the routes. The entire stretch is a mosaic of forest or paddy fields or vegetable farms. Fresh produce was being sold along the route. Every farmer had his produce displayed for sale. Yet there was no garbage or rubbish dumped anywhere! Last but not the least, Akila is a storehouse of knowledge. If you care, he is an intelligent raconteur.
Midway we arrived at Udawalawe National Park (UNP), after a 2.5 hours ride. The travel was stress free and relaxing. The safari at UNP was a good break and was a part of the package that Akila had worked out for us. As soon as we arrived at the gates, we hoped on to our exclusive safari jeep for a glimpse of the park over the next 3 hours. Sri Lankan national parks appear to be mostly about elephants, that is the general perception! Sri Lanka with varied habitats - mangroves, rain forests, deciduous forests and mountain ranges has a very rich bio-diversity. Exploring the fauna and flora, which is known to be unique and fascinating, would have to be a separate focused trip, hopefully in the near future.
Starting at 5am in the morning we arrived amidst the hills and clouds, at Ella Planter’s Bungalow at 1.30pm. Considering a 180 Km distance, this was amazing & awesome! So, for all of you, for your future trips to Sri Lanka, a Tuk-Tuk long distance experience is a must do.

We travelled with Akila from Tangalle to Ella, with a stopover in Udawalawe National Park. The communication beforehand went smoothly and Akila always answered immediately. He picked us up punctually at the hotel at 6.00 am in the morning and drove us to the park in his comfortable tuktuk. There we were already expected by our driver Sarath. On the 2.5 hour safari we saw lots of animals. Sarath has eagle eyes and always drew our attention to animals that we would have overlooked. He speaks very good English and even knows the German names of most of the animals. Afterwards, Akila took us to our accommodation in Ella, pointed out special features again and again on the way and even got fresh vegetable roti for us at a bakery. The journey times worked out exactly as promised in advance. We absolutely recommend Tangalle Tuk Tuk Safari. Anytime again!

I Found This Company via Instagram and subsequently reached out to them. The communication with Akila was excellent - fast, responsive and honest. We were staying in Galle and wanted to go to Ella via Udawalawe. Akila sourced a driver who was excellent-the car was fantastic (the best we had in Sri Lanka). Akila checked in with us a couple of days before - he was really on it. We were taken around National Park by Sarath who was brilliant! So knowledgeble and knew the park inside out. The tour was extremely good value for money and i would recommended this company to anyone for all their services.i've had such a great exeperience.

We booked our safari tour from Tangalle to Udawalle National Park by phone. We were picked up at our hotel on time, the safari tour with Sarath was great, he explained a lot to us about the individual animals and responded to our wishes. The price was very fair, highly recommended, thank you very much!
