Our 5 day trip with Deshan was one of the best trips I've had. He was very knowledgeable about all the places (even plants and trees!). He would tailor the trips on however you would like it to be. The best part was he would make the drive and hikes safe for everyone. I definitely recommend Deshan if you want to see the beauty of Sri Lanka!

Thank you Deshan for the most beautiful time in Sri Lanka during our trip. We had 2 days trip and we saw so many things and places - Kandy, elephants, teplmes, Adam’s peak mountain morning sunrise…we were lucky up the hill because we saw triangle and not so much people, the view was breathtaking, beautiful nature and animals around. If we wanted to go somewhere it was nit problem to change our plans and we did it, flexibility was thehe and Deshan is always ready to show you the bwst places in Sri Lanka. We always feel safe and comfortable with you, we talked a lot and we laughed a lot. We became friends soon.) We really appreciate also home made dinner. Deshan loves his job and you will feel it, he has energy and we were happy during these all days. I wish we can spend more time togehter and I believe we meet each other again! I recommend his tours 1000%! We will miss you and remember for life!

Me and my sister in law visited Srilanka in September 2023. We booked deshan for our 9 days trip which covered Sigriya, Kandy, nawalapitiya, Ella, Nuwareliya, Sinharaja rain forest, Udawala national park, Merissa, Galle and bentota etc.

Initially we were really anxious as we two girls were travelling for the first time but from Day 1 Deshan made us comfortable with his kind and friendly nature. He is also well versed with hindi as we were from Pakistan it was easy for us to communicate with him. He gave us good and economical recommendations for hotels and he was so hospitable, he arranged the breakfast for us when we were in his home town.

He motivated and accompanied us to all the hiking places like pitrungala, dunhinda waterfalls, little adams peak, ambuwala tower, Sinharaja rain forest etc. He is really friendly and fun loving person. He even modified the trip when we requested in the mid of the trip that we want to visit Sinharaja rain forest and covered all places and made our visit worthwhile. We had great adveture with him of whale and dolphin watching at Merissa. He has good knowledge of Srilanka (culture, history, politics etc). He made our visit to Srilanka memorable.

We were in a fifteen-days trip in Sri Lanka and we had Deshan as a guide. After some trips around the world, he has been by far the best guide I have had.
He is a person with a great general cultural and knows very well his country (politicy, economy, health and others).
Always attentive, careful and polite, but at the same time he gave us our time to relax ourselves. He was the perfect balance point.

When I booked my private tour with Deshan I was a little bit anxious to be in a car for two days with one person. Within a few seconds my anxiety disappeared when we met for the first time. Deshan is open, friendly en easy going.
I really enjoyed my trip into the mountains from Kandy to Ella. Deshan knows his stuff. Really nice spots to visite and to eat. What struck me that is very involved with you as a person, wants you to feel safe en just enjoy your trip en relax.

Deshan guide

We had the chance to travel with Deshan for 20 days during this August. Deshan had already prepared our itinerary and picked us up from Colombo Airport. From the first moments, we felt cosy and protected with Deshan. He is an outstanding person with politeness, flexibility, knowledge and patience, which makes him an excellent guide. On top, Deshan is a safe driver, which also contributed to our well-being. We have seen many cultural and spiritual places alongside leasure stays and nature visits. Deshan was always very helpful also in emergency, like sickness, situations and with scouting hotels or markets, etc.

Thank you so much Deshan for your hospitality, we love Sri Lanka, and it's a lot your merit that we felt in love with your country and its people.

Ella, Caro and Ben

We booked a trip with him to Adam’s peak and waterfall and rafting - we absolutely loved it really helpful clever and very good person. We totally recommend!

We planned our Sri Lanka itinerary by ourselves and did not want too many transports as we were traveling with suitcases. In order not to go to Adam's Peak with our suitcases, we found Deshan's Tour of Sri Lanka and wanted to book a tour with him from our accommodation 2.5 hours away and ask him to book us a train ticket to Ella for the next day and possibly organize a permanent driver from Ella to Yala National Park and then to Tangalle. Deshan immediately assured us that all our requests were possible and asked us about our plans before and after - we described our route and told him that we would like to use public transport, but that we would probably lose 2.5 days just for the trips. Without further ado, he suggested that he would organize a driver for us for the first few days, who would be able to drive us to even more stops than we had expected to be able to make in one day, and that he would then drive and accompany us to our desired destinations on the spot of our accommodation in his vicinity, since he himself would have been on a large round trip with other customers during the first three days of our arrival. Also for the days we would have spent in the accommodation near him, he suggested other possible stopovers. Since we gained 2.5 vacation days through his organization and were able to see much more than we had originally thought, we booked with him and that is the best thing that could have happened to us, because we also made 2 new friends on top of that - Deshan even before our trip through our many phone calls to prepare the trip and drone fly permission and his brother-in-law Ruwaen, who was originally only supposed to accompany us for the first 3 days. Ruwaen is such a friendly and warm person! He supported us in many situations like the on-site approval of our drone and did his best that we could see and experience as much as possible during the days. Since we got along so well and it was very hard for us to say goodbye, Ruwaen accompanied us with Deshan the other days as well. They were able to tell and show us so much about and from Sri Lanka - animals, nature, history, people and the current situation. While roaming through the jungle, they paid attention to every sound and were able to show us hidden animals that we would never have noticed or seen without them and also showed us wild growing spices such as cinnamon or cloves, which would have looked like normal shrubs to us. Even after we left for Ella, Deshan constantly worried about us and asked if we had arrived safely. We can highly recommend Deshan's tours, because he knows his country like the back of his hand and loves to show his country to others and share his knowledge!

Our two days with Deshan were by far the highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka. He picked us up in Kandy and took us through beautiful scenery, waterfalls, and stops as we headed to our ultimate destination in Ella. This included a perfectly timed and fun train ride. He took care of absolutely everything. Including arranging a stay at a really well-located hotel in Ella with the absolute most incredible view. We only wished we would have stayed longer! (I recommend you do this in 2 nights.much more to do) The hike on day 2 was one of the nicest hikes we have done. A bit tough on the incline, but totally doable. Nothing crazy hard.

But most important to note, Deshan was hands down the best tour guide we had in Sri Lanka, and one of the best throughout our numerous travels. He was very nice, fun, answered our million and one questions on Sri Lanka and religion/history. I couldn't recommend him enough! We will definitely reach out to Deshan when we come back to Sri Lanka. Especially because we realized how much more we have to see.and we were here a full month!

We spent only one day with Deshan but it was definitely worth it. He drove us from Kandy to Ella, showed us the tea factory and tea plantations. We also hiked up to the beautiful waterfall and ate at a local street food market. Loved every minute of it. We were staying in Ella for another 3 nights so we agreed to drop the second day with Deshan. He gave us a lot of valuable tips what to do in the area which came helpful the next days. He knows a lot about the country, its history and culture and it is a pleasure to talk to him on any topic. With him no question remain unanswered.

Additionally we have to express our gratitude for the extra mile he went when we found out we accidentally left a wallet in the hotel in Kandy. He managed the pick up and delivery via train for us to Ella before we left to the next place of our trip. He made sure the wallet came to us and was ready on the phone to assist to make it happen.

This is no ordinary guide. He will make your trip very special.

I did the Adam’s Peak tour with Deshan and it was the best adventure tour I have ever done! He is prepared, helpful, friendly and he made me feel always satisfied! He accompanied me to one tea factory that made me taste all tips of tea (included the white ones), than to Gampola to see the tower, to do rafting in a good place with prepared people, to see a waterfall, to eat and then to a good and cheap hotel for the Adam’s Peak climb of the day after. The latter was an incredible experience, we climb the mountain at night to see the sunrise and then back running like two children ahahah. The good thing is that he follows your rhythms and make you feel always great. Thank Deshan for all, if I will return in Sri Lanka I’m going to call you for some other adventures!

My daughter and I had a wonderful experience travelling Sri Lanka with Deshan. His local knowledge and accomodating nature is a standout with great memories we will never forget.
