Dumbanagala Chalet

My Father and I stayed here for a night. We were welcomed and greeted with excellent service. We had a gorgeous room with clean hot showers. The food was absolutely delicious. One cannot say enough about the scenic views and natural beauty that surrounds you. We highly recommend this place for a stay!

Very very calm and quite place to be even for a week. Absolutely perfect serenity to relax if you only wants to litsen to the sound of waterfall and birds.

This is one of the best places we have visited recently. The view from the Chalet towards the mountain ranges is breathtaking and the sunset over the misty mountains is once in a life time view.
It was a family outing with 13 people, So we rented the complete Chalet. (I think they can accommodate more, having 7 rooms I guess) The rooms were neatly arranged and clean and cozy.

The food is awesome even the little ones enjoyed it a lot.

The road from Hunnasgiriya to Chalet and Meemure is in good condition (mostly carpet road) but a bit Narrow.

I would highly recommend this place.

I have been a Hotel General Manager for the past 26yrs, managing hotels of varying standards, from 03* to Luxurious Boutique Hotels, with a total hotel experience of 40yrs. I can boldly say that this unique property was way beyond my imagination! The location / setting is certainly 'out of this world'! Extremely clean very well mamaintained! Comfy, coasy bedding & very well prepared authentic local food from Head Cook Ukku Banda' s little Wonder-kitchen! Very caring / helpful staff (Butler Rajah & his daughter) led by the Amazing Host- (Mr.) Kanchana who would go many an extra mile to ensure his guests' satisfaction! Certainly cannot ask for anything better!
Would recommend this "Little Paradise" to anyone who is longing for that "dream holiday"!

Very friendly management who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Foods are delicious. I would highly recommend.

I had to cancel a booking due to a personal reason and the owner/booking team handled the situation with great customer care. Although I didn't go to the place yet, I can confirm that the owner and booking team is not just after money and value the overall customer experience.

A place that must be visited. If you have an off road vehicle, then take the off road path for some additional adventure. Best to visit with a crowd. I would say at least 4 people. Otherwise it can a bit lonely, unless that's your thing. Food is good, and the caretaker is helpful and efficient.

One of a best hotel I have visited so far. Great view with great hospitality. If you are looking for some quiet and awesome place to stay in Hunnasgiriya/ Meemure area, this is the place.
Dumbanagala chalet is located in Dumbanagala mountain. The 'misty' mountain in English. It's the highest peak in the area as I guess. Now you can easily get to the hotel from Hunnasgiriya town as the road is well developed.
The rooms have enough space and are clean. Food is also good. The best part is the surrounding. The balcony view is amazing. They have a natural pool too.

One of the best places to stay in the Hunnasgiriya side of Knuckles and the only place that is in the protected area of the forest. Unrivalled views, good food, great service and access to many different types of hikes. I have stayed at Dumbanagala Chalet 4 times and cannot recommend it more highly.

We are glad to have chosen this beautiful place.we stayed at the separate bungalow with 3 rooms and had BBQ night.hotel view is amazing.
Facility was spotless, very friendly and courteous staff. Mr. Kanchana -Manager is very helpful.

I stayed for 2 nights and 3 days at the Chalet during the last weekend with my daughter and my son. Needless to say, I enjoyed every minute at the place - starting from the views from the balcony to the food and people working at the Chalet. I was looking forward for a very relaxing stay, with comfortable rooms and good food. I was able to get exactly the same. All food was prepared fresh, and the lady cooks the food really well. The time and money I spent was worth it. I would specially like to mention Logesh, who helped me serving food, and providing assistance with accommodation. He was very helpful throughout my stay at the Chalet. I walked around a bit, and the views were stunning too. The Diyakerella Ella was in close proximity to this scenic location.which I visited once. It was a wonderful place to be, with the amazing scenery. It was worth all the effort me being there. As I was looking forward for a more relaxing stay, I did not try out adventurous activities anymore, but as I understood, the place offers a lot of adventure based activities too. Just as much as the Chalet, the road to the location off the main road was pretty nice. The recently renovated roads and the sights, made the latter part of the journey pretty relaxing too. All in all, I'd recommend this place for anyone yearning for a relaxing getaway from your busy schedules, the place, sights, the people as a whole is pretty worth the price I paid for

Awesome stay, food was tasty and good for hide out. No signal for any mobile network except for dialog at some locations. If you really need internet you can ask from management. But not necessarily needed with this stunning view.

Lovely place. Beautiful view and peaceful surrounding. Clean and well maintained and child friendly. Friendly staff. The only suggestion is that driver's accommodation should be complimentary like in most places.

A stunning location with a natural pool. Very kids friendly environment. Room consists of a double bed and a single bed on the attic and kids just loved it. A lot of nature trecking routes. Close proximity to Meemure and a lot of natural waterways for bathing. A very well spent holiday. ️

The worst hotel that I have ever being. They have been failed to satisfy the basic needs of customers. Poor management. Disappointed!

No free WiFi, No signal, No calling facility at all, Foods serve much late. They served our dinner after 9.30 pm when all children went to sleep without dinner, Foods are not adequate and poor Quality, Rooms are not well maintained such as bathrooms, beds, are unclean. No mineral water, No towels at bathrooms, No tea bags at rooms, Poor Management, Staff are not friendly, Not recommended for any stay. We fed up our stsy because of the poor service by the hotel and still amazing how it became 3 star hotel without minimum of customer care. They charged the fee for food for driver also
