This is a classic point of contact for all kinds of coffee trips! Tourists be warned! Anyone who comes here pays 3-10 times as much as the goods are worth. I also found the goods in gold, silver and platinum work, rough with cuts, edges and cracks, and the stones are also far too expensive.

Anyone who came here cheaply with a conventional package holiday knows that the company generates additional sales with this. There are also beautiful things, but anyone who buys here will be annoyed as soon as they come to their senses or do research or have the value of what they have purchased estimated.

If you still want to buy something, insist on having to sleep on it, research prices, find out and memorize the characteristics of the quality and set a price that is acceptable for you.

Personally, I would avoid the place in advance.

Fantastic free tour, began with an interesting video about Sri Lankan gem mining followed by an exhibition of local and foreign gemstones. We also saw the craftsmen making jewellery in a workshop onsite. Opportunity to buy handcrafted jewellery for a reasonable price. Notable thank you to Pasindu for his wealth of knowledge and hospitality with a cup of tea.

Beware of them, their prices are more expensive than all the world, and I advise the Arabs to beware of the Yemeni seller

Excellent service, nice shopping

We had holidays in Sri Lanka. And also we were planning to buy some gems in Kandy. As we did not know anyone there, I had to read many reviews online for different gem shops. Finally we filtered out most of them and visited Gamini. First we discussed our concerns regarding fake stones and overpriced items. Sumith, was guy who met us there. He answered our questions in a calm and patient way. He introduced himself and described their family business, which started years ago. Then he presented us items, which we were looking for. This was done in relaxed atmosphere with no pressure at all. I had a nice cup of coffee as well. As a result, we bought 5 items with great discounts. They gave invoice and certificate for each item. Thanks!

Such a great place having a variety of gems and stones.
Prices are a bit higher but items are valuable.
The 10 minutes research video shown by the staff is very well explained about the processes involved in searching the gems and stones.

One of the most interesting places since you get to know the story of gem collection from the river and land for a 3 generation very professional family business.

Make sure you take the tour to see the hands on work shaping the gems and buy yourself something nice to remember, for a cheaper price than the normal shops.

It's a very slick business. You should stop by if you want to buy quality jewelry from a renowned house. But their guided tours are purely promotional: a 15 mins scripted vid from a mine and an installation of different types of gems will lead straight to the sales. Prices are rather high too

It was a good jewellery shop which showed us how the gems were actually polished and dug out of earth. Must visit if you have come to Kandy.

I loved the tour they provided of their facility. Saw how the gems are carved out from scratch was an interesting learning. The video on how the gems are mined was also a great one to watch.

Awesome collection of Stones with them. We bought one $190 but you should be expert in verifying stones. They have big big showroom with nice amenities.

Very informative and helpful, and not at all pushy when selling items. Very nice shop, bought a Ruby engagement ring and was able to choose the stone and ring separately then pick up 24 hours later.

Another famous destination for the tourism where they dispay variety of gems and jewelry. They also have a video explain the process of extracting these gems. The store is really overpriced but you may negotiate.

Obviously scam. Safe is open all the time, security guards not armed, showroom windows not locked, locks have quality of supermarket-alkohol locks. Don't invest to much, maybe some of the cheaper ones are not fake

It's worst that the salesmen's here are extremely unfit for the position they work for. It is always that they need to respect the customers which they don't do. Customers may not be interested to buy or they might just be visiting to check what they have.
As a sales person one cannot have right to comment upon the customers when they are present over right in front of them. And a sales man runs down two floors just to tell me to visit the shop again next time with the same group. Such an illitrate he is.
