Don’t book this place over the phone. After accepting and confirming the booking, these people canceled the booking without informing. We got to know that after the arrival only (around 9pm) Seriously pathetic. After all they were like ‘ do whatever you can ‘ not recommended the service.

The room view is amazing, the price is reasonable, and the owner's service is much appreciated. Highly recommended place.

The owner is so irresponsible. We made our reservation over the phone and at that time owner repeatedly asked whether we will come to saty the night. We confirmed and once we arrived to the premise, he said that he gave the room to another set of people claiming that he wasn't thinking we would come to stay the night. We had to go through a lot of trouble to find a new place to stay. Very disappointed with the service and the irresponsible behavior of the owner.

Friendly staff and the rooms were clean. Recommended for all budget travelers.
It is 2km from the Pekoe Trail Stage 01 trailhead which makes it a very convenient resting point.

The ideal name for this property is Hanthana Home Stay. Because owner is living in the same premises and no privacy if booked more than 4 rooms. Guest had to face completely uncomfortable situation during the stay because of the wrong branding of the property.

Best place at Kandy for a Family to stay for an affordable price. Rooms are so clean and occupied with all the items a bedroom should have. So spacious with a scenic view towards mountains. The owner is also a very friendly and supportive person. Definitely a place where anyone makes their second visit.

"Hanthana holiday rooms" home stay is the best home stay in kandy in my opinions. Rooms are clean, well equiped. We can hear only birds sound in all time. Very calm place. No any other sounds. Mr. Ananda (Host) helped us all time. I can recommend this place. Hope to go there again.

The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the owners was amazing (mr Ananda). I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting kandy area.

So grateful to have come across this beautiful cozy spot. The accommodation is run by husband and wife who are very gentle and attentive to all our needs. Highly recommend HHR. Its like a hidden gem in the mountains

The host uncle was really hospitable and very friendly into getting us to our rooms, plus amazing place to wake up to cicadas and birds. Definitely book the Balcony Room for views - it can comfortably host a group of 4.

The location is a bit offbeat but the surrounding neighborhood is very lush, green and weather was pleasant this time of the year (Apr-May). It tooks us 400-500 LKR from the Kandy Railway/Bus Station to the location. The hantana mountain hiking range is 4km from the place.

We spent 4 days there. They treated us like their own kids. We only had breakfast from them but the food was amazing. The rooms were clean and tidy. The place is at the border of the forest so that the environment is so peaceful. A good value for your money. I highly recommend this place to any traveller.

Stayed here for two nights in the Deluxe King room in December 2017. I had booked though a third party site. It was nice to receive a confirmation mail (aprt from the auto generated mail from the website) from the owner. The room is excellent. Big, spacious with nice furniture. Owned and run by a couple, this place is situated a little away from Kandy city center, among the woods. The room has huge glass windows that provide great views of the hills and the woods. The food (dinner) was also very good. Had one not so pleasent experience though. On our second day, we reached back in the evening around 7 pm. I went and asked the owner if we can get tea. Her initial reaction was not very positive. Though she provided the tea pretty soon. Met Mr Jayakody only on the day we left as he was out of station. He is a very nice gentleman.

If you want to have home stay experience in Kandy this place can be a good choice. Room & Bathroom is clean & nice. There's no much view for the room we booked but hospitality of Ananda and team is really good. We felt like we are staying in our own home.

Very pleasant stay.very quite and calm. Owners are very friend and gave us a star classic service.even the landlord lady used to carry my 3 months old baby while we are having breakfast. Rooms are clean.some small things need to be done.

Ananda and his family are lovely to stay with! Made us feel very welcome and they were always helpful. Very affordable accommodation in a quiet area not too far from the city. About $3AUD for a tuck tuck from the train station.

Feels like home with your family. Mr Ananda and Mrs Nimalka were just amazing hosts. Get the real experience of a local and super friendly family. Prices are good and amazing value for money. Great rooms and food. Highly recommended
