Isini Gems & Jewellers (Pvt) Ltd reviews
21Not a legit place to be at. Totally misguiding as well as unfair pricing billed for 2 different customers for the same item purchased and we had to get a refund post discussion of 1 hour + on call.the next day we got a refund and had to stop at kandy for collection.
Had to go there because our H. O. T. Guide had to pick up his stamp here.
Show a film that's okay.
Then a museum and finally the sales room where you try to buy something.
Tourist trap.
Good information of various gems mined in Sri Lanka. They hope you'll buy some of course but exerts no pressure. Good experience
Preise scheinen recht hoch, aber wenn man die Caratzahl und Größe mit anderen Anbietern vergleicht, dann scheint es zu passen. Ohne zu verhandeln sind Sie mit 10% entgegengekommen.
You will buy jewellery here - be ready! Excellent, educational tour, friendly staff, top-shelf merchandise including loose stones and finished pieces.
Do not buy anything in this place! We are a Spanish family that bought a ring, some earrings and a pendant on August 12th and before arriving in Spain on the 22nd, the blue sapphire ring had already dropped 2 pieces!
We have sent 3 emails and we have had no response.
We will inform our agency here in Spain so that they don't take more tourists to this factory!
It is a gem jewellery shop but shown as Gem museum to the tourists. They show you a 5 minutes video about the gem history and mining and then they provide a small tour of artificial mines they have built before taking you to their shop on top floor. The jewellery they have is nice but most people do not prefer gem jewellery without consultation.
Excellent location.described about the process for finding the gems and making of gems.recommend to visit
When in Srilanka, it can't happen that you don't visit a gem museum and store.
Srilanka is rich in its gem produce.
If you happen to hire any vehicle or tuk tuk, they will insist you to visit a gem store as they earn commission from gem stores for getting customers to their place.
There are many gem stores in entire Srilanka.
This place is in Kandy. They showed us a short video of how the gems are extracted and then we were taken to their back store where artisians were working on gems. They have a retail store if you wish to buy. (Most of the gems are crafted in silver or 14 carat gold)
I have noticed in gem shops visited, they are ready to give you at a huge discount. (Pl. Be cautious of buying gems from non authorised stores)
The collection is not very extra ordinary and not much variety.limited stock comparing to Bangkok gems galary. But one staff named naushad was very soft and nicely behaved and gave me discount on white sapphire pendant and ring and so I bought. Only thg I worry whether their price is worth comparing to India prices. Overall good experience
It's a very well oiled tourist trap to extract your money. Terribly over priced! Do not be fooled! Enjoy the experience of the very courteous staff and the wonderful hospitality. Just don't be coerced into buying anything! It is not as presented and even the certificate says that "different geographical regions may express different opinions with regard to the valuations". This ripoff tainted my whole view of Sri Lanka!
Very well organised visit to send you to the store. Would have been nice if it had been a proper museum.
As expected, they are pretty pushy and, prices are not that low! Be strong and, resist the usual sales technics!
As a presentation of manufacturing jewelry and "mining" gem stones it was very nice. They had presentation in many languages, also in polish. They explain each gem stone features and visual aspects. Unfortunately prices in shop are really high and jewelry looks rubbish. I felt forced to buy something. Don’t buy there!
They have a very nice collection but are very expensive. Better to buy the same kind of jewellery for half the price from other stores
Very expensive and not legit.staff were not honest as they said its gold and when proceeding to the cash it was mentioned that it is silver mixed.
I presume, these guys have some contact with the cab drivers to ensure people's visit their store. The place really is trying to sell stuff which is pretty decent to look at by the way. I an no expert on gems and can not say anything about the cut or quality of the gems.if you are not interested in buying gems or adding to the income of the driver, just avoid.
Lovely place. Presentation was very nice and they have an excellent selection of gems and jewellery. I did find them expensive. I was alone and felt a bit pressured to purchase something. I purchased a stone but found a nicer stone in a gem store in Colombo which was quite a bit cheaper.
Good to visit and enjoyvthe video and showroom.do not buy anything from there as the prices are extrenely expensive: around 4 to 5 fold compared to the market value
It's a huge place where gem cutting and polishing is being done. They show a short documentry of 15 minutes which gives one an idea about how gem mining is done in Sri Lanka. It's indeed risky and tough to do so. They have a small museum displaying various gems, it's formation and excavation. In addition to these, they have displayed various cutting patterns and methods for each variety of gems. They also provide a tour of live gem cutting.
They have beautiful collection of gems and jewelleries. These are authentic and so if one wishes to buy, you may.
Amazing place with an incredible collection of jewelry and gem stones. Definitely recommend a vist if you are in Kandy.
