Katool Oya Farm Resort Holiday Bungalow

This is a small beautiful bungalow with lots of antiques, which is absolutely worth the price. The view from the bungalow is spectacular and is beautifully located up hill surrounded by mountain ranges and mountains. To wakeup to those beautiful mornings in this bungalow will always be something i will never forget. The road which takes us to the bungalow also has many breathtaking views, some photos are attached here. The bungalow itself
consists of 3 rooms inside and outside 2 rooms and also had a cook (Uma) who would make anything delicious for us. We even arranged a bbq night with bon fire which was an amazing memory in the hills. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone, we will definitely come again!

Its a beautiful bungalow which is situated in knuckles. We have spent two nights there. There is a 360 panoramic view of misty mountains. Caretaker and her husband gave a great service. I highly recomand this place for people who love nature.

Overall good place.access roads are bit rough & far. Caretaker is good, they make good foods. But they must improve facilities like bathrooms, hot water, bedding, tables & chairs, and proper housekeeping.hope it will improve.

Hard to find the place, directions are not indicated, the outside person helped us to find the place, but the watcher of this bunglow didnt care about visitors, but his wife Uma welcomed served delicious food she provided everything what we need, bedrooms should be renovated, eventhough the washrooms are new, not functioned properly, pls consider these points.

This is a super cool place which is bordering to knuckles mountain range. Firstly i woud say this is one of the nicest place we’d ever vist. The bungalow is unique old fashioned one with impressive antique interior and ornaments. Walking up to this beautiful view is something awesome which is never forgetting. The road to the bungalow is little bit hard so recommend to go with a vehicle with good ground clearance. The caregiver Uma is very friendly and given us a good hospitality and tolerated our demands. We brought foods and she made them delicious. And Lady Uma guided us to go for a small hike to see a beautiful waterfall which is located near to the bungalow in knuckles conservation forest. We are so grateful we ever found this place and definitely we will be there again soon. Highly recommend with 9/10

This bungalow is located in a very beautiful environment. It is very impressive. There are several beautiful waterfalls around this bungalow. The interior of the bungalow is also very elegant and comfortable.we stayed at the bungalow for two days.those two days were great

I do not recommend this place to anyone ever. This review may be get bit longer but it will save your valuable time and money. We booked this property based on the good reviews we have seen on the internet. But only good thing about this was the location and the spectacular view from there. This bungalow located in Gomara area and Huluganga Is the nearest town. Bambarella road is not in good condition and low under clearance vehicles cannot make it to the top. So make sure to follow the other road as their given map. Bungalow is not well maintained at all. Sofas, Couches and Bathroom accessories were broken. Hot water system works but the water pressure is not enough so it takes hours to get a shower properly. And here’s the worst part of our story. The cake taker Uma is a very cunning person so DO NOT trust her. We provided her all the dry groceries for our meals and the BBQ items. But we only received smaller portions of everything. They have kept those things even before they have served us. The Dinner was pretty average. When we tried to make tea for us in the morning we saw that all the items (Milk Powder, Tea, Sugar) were open and half of the packets were missing. Then only we got to know they have stolen from everything. She made our breakfast so damn badly because we have noticed her dirty work. It was taste like nothing. Just eating water and rice. None of the provided items were included in the curries properly. We are not traveling and staying in Bungalows like this once in a blue moon. We have stayed in many places before but this was the first time ever we have face such a horrible experience. Specially during a pandemic period like this safety precautions is a must. However She didn’t talk properly afterwards because she was guilty conscious about the things she has done. We tried to contact the owner several times but she didn’t answer any of our calls once we reached there. We thought she was a decent and genuine lady but it seems she also knows this process and this was their team work. Finally if your planning to visit this place keep an eye on this Uma all the time otherwise you’ll end up in a disappointment. There are only three rooms and 8 people can sleep comfortably. They provide several mats to sleep outside in the rooms if necessary. But it’s freezing out in the rooms in the middle of the night. Make sure to bring all the things as per your requirements during the stay because they highly charged to brought things from the town.

Very nice place for nature lovers. Stunning mountain view and lovely weather. But can get chilly at night. We had a wonderful two nights stay here (26/02/2021-28/02/2021). Caretakers Uma and her husband were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. All good and highly recommended for family or friends trips.

Food and the caretaker were good. There should be more space, especially bigger beds to accommodate more people. Currently 6 can sleep comfortably.

I went a family trip April. The surrounding were very beautiful but the bungalow was not maintained properly and need to be rerenovated. There are several natural pool around the bungalow and nice water fall in knuckles enterance. The caretaker was good and the meals were good.

It was our annual year end trip. 14 of us accommodated the property from 17/12 – 19/12/2020. First of all, please do make sure that HOT WATER WORKS WELL before you book the property. The property had breathtaking views around it though the caretaker UMA was surprisingly rude to us from the very beginning. 1) There were 02 bathrooms equipped with HOT WATER gadgets though non of them worked, when we inquired from Uma, she mentioned that nobody came to fix it. 2) We took almost everything we needed for our meals, though we were given poorly cooked meals with no taste at all. Specifically I have to mention that she and her husband are probably crooks hence we took supplies sufficient enough for all our meals and a tad bit extra though we were charged extra for the supplies we already took to the property. 3) Property maintenance is very poor; moulds, stinking dining area, etc.

IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON STAYING HERE, PLEASE DO MAKE SURE ALL OF THE ABOVE ISSUES ARE RECTIFIED. ITS FREEZING COLD UP THERE.

Caretaker was superb.very supportive.

The surrounding were very beautiful but the bungalow was not maintained properly at all. The caretaker was useless and the meals were not good at all. We bought all the stuff we needed to prepare food but the caretaker still overcharged us to bring more stuff to prepare food.

Calm place where many people accommodate and the manager was so friendly can access via Matale and teldeniya both roads are beautiful but rangala road is in good condition
Can stay up to 25 pax nearby it has a smal water fall

Lovely location and bungalow set under the shadow of the knuckles mountain range.
Easily motorable road if travelling via Rangala Road near Theldeniya.
Food is good but you have to take the ingredients with you. Bbq facility available.
Lots of attractions around the place which, unfortunately, cannot be covered in one day.

Very beautiful place with amazing views of knuckles. You can have bath in clear natural water coming from knuckles. Bunglow keeper is very friendly. You can provide groceries for meals and BBQ. Good service. The final part to reach the bunglow is little difficult. But we managed to get out Honda FIT GP5 there.very nice surroundings.

Place was not clean and not well maintained! Had mosquito problems at night. The view from the resort is great! Food prepared by the cook was pretty average!

Nice bungalow, awesome calm quite environment, good servants and service. Tasty foods and drinks provided. What bad was, no better door locks and had small problems in wash rooms.
