Kellebokka Turning Point reviews
16This is a very difficult journey to go, once you reach the top, its beauty cannot be described. You have to go a long way.
Need a 4WD with low range to goto the top if driving. Need to drive the outer circle to get to the viewing point. Amazing views including the nuckles mountain.
One of the most beautiful panoramic viewpoints. Getting it is not easy, you can reach there in 2 ways.
The first one is Panwila, Madulkale road and the second one is from Mathale via Kabaragala.
From the main road, you have another 6km adventure, which you can either walk, take a TukTuk, or travel by an off-road vehicle.
We chose a TukTuk and it cost us 3000, up and down. But when comparing the road condition, it was well worth it.
Breath taking 360 view point. Need to have 4x4 vehicle or a bike to reach there. Can hire a tuck tuck also. 6km from the main road. If you are a Sri Lankan you must visit this place atleast once in your life time
Kellabokka is better place for the camping situated in Wattegama kandy
Place belongs to government tea plantation and so have to pay 3500 for camping night.
There is 360 view and cool environment
Just enjoy!
Surrounded by tea estates the view is breathtaking and the breeze is soothing. I did not got the chance to visit the Viewpoint since it was closed due to the covid-19 pandemic. The road towards kelebokka is full of scenery and it extends towards the Rangala Nature pool.
Please visit this place on a Jeep or negotiate the taxis fares before you go up the mountain
Best 360 view point you can reach by vehicle. Vehicle with High ground clearing or bike recommended. Rs 100 ticket is issued per person. Water and washrooms are available on the top.
Road to the top view from the strating point is very damaged. So it'll be better to go by bikes. We couldn't find the edgy hut which shown in the pictures. Only one circular shaped hut was there on the very top.
Place is superb. Nice view.but the road is very bad.the vehicles will damage.ticket is 100 Rupees.
From here about 6km upwards the road runs to the viewpoint. Ticket counter located at the turning point and it costs 100 rupees per single adult. Due to the road conditions only tuk tuks, motor and mountain bikes and 4wd vehicles can drive in this road. A small hut with shorteats, a tuk tuk park located nearby. A tuk will charge nearly 1000 rupees from here to the top. There are few clean waterways alongside the road. By foot its nearly 2 hours trek.
You can buy a ticket here.ticket counter available here. 6am.to 6p.m open time.ticket price rs. 100.if you willing to take tuk tuk here u can.tuk tuk price 1000rs.nearly 6k.m towards view point
We have to hike for 6kms.or we can travel in vehicle that has high ground clearance.have to pay Rs100 per person at the entrance. Most of the time threewheel drivers will tell you that you cant travel there by your own vehicle. Thats because they need you to travel in their vehicle. They cost Rs1200-1500 average.
Superb view point. The road is not a smooth one. Best vehicle to reach there would be a jeep or a pickup because the road is very tough. And go there on a sunny morning because by evening 4 the mist starts to come down and it could get difficult to see down the road that's little risky.
Kallebokka viewpoint is one of the best viewpoints in Sri Lanka which gives 3600 magnificent views of the Kandy, Matale and the beautiful Knuckles Mountain Range. From the viewpoint, you can also see the Sembuwatta Lake, Huluganga valley, Hunnasgiriya, Makulussa Mountain, and Dumbara Mountain range etc… The viewpoint is located in the highest peak of the Kallebokka estate which belongs to Sri Lanka State Plantation Corporation.
The estate is located between Kabaragala and Madolkele on the boundary of the Kandy and Matale District. Therefore it can be accessed from both Mathale and Kandy directions. However, the route from Matale to Kabaragala is better in terms of the scenic view. The last part of the road to the peak is a bit difficult and Bikes and 4WD are recommended.
