1I had the opportunity to stay at Polwaththa Eco-Lodges this past spring, and opted to lodge in a homestay at Sandiya's mountainside home. What an absolutely unforgettable experience. It was an honor and a joy to be hosted by such a warm and generous soul — in just 10 days, it really felt as if we became part of the Polwaththa family. Sandiya's delicious home cooking, heartwarming smile, beautiful family, and limitless hospitality are a reminder of just how powerful cross-cultural connections can be. The house was a short jungle trek from the primary Polwaththa property and close to town, too — the local village is a short walk or ride via tuk tuk away. I highly recommend the homestay option and hope to return to say hi to Sandiya and her family someday!
