If you want to get ripped off you can buy gems here. Their prices are 3 to 10 times compared to other genuine shop so ask for 70 to 90% discount else don't buy. Once you pay you are done. Be happy with overpriced gems. Don't get impressed with the 10 minit video there.

A nice selection of high-priced precious and semi-precious stones, helpful sellers, not too intrusive. There is little time left before they let you look around in peace and ask WHEN you are interested in something.

I'm not an expert to comment on authenticity of the gems and stones. But we made a purchase last week at Premadasas Kandy Store. Being a curious person I checked the ring prices for similar item at other stores across Srilanka and found that I've overpaid. I really doubt that this brand being told that it is old and genuine if it really is.

We were shown a documentary on how Ceylon gems are curated, and, the history behind them. Followed by a very humble man suggesting us to buy a few gems. He quided us about a ring and a pair of earrings. Good collection, contemporary designs. Pretty gems.

We spent a lot of money on two green sapphires here when in Sri Lanka, to make into earrings. We saved up money to make the earrings up, but the jeweller in the UK where we live, found a crack in one of the gems, that ran right the way through. After many attempts over 6 weeks to find out what Premadesas would do about it, we were told it must be our fault and were offered a 25% discount off buying another gem. Why would we spend more money with them? And it was highly unlikely we were going to Sri Lanka again. They sold us something that was bad quality, we couldn't use and the least I expected was money back for that one gem. Their guarantees are worthless, their service is poor and I felt it was a scam.

There is a lady that does the tour that is a gemologist. She was really helpful in giving the background at their kandy branch.
