The Mount Royal Hotel

Attended a function recently. By road from the main road to the hotel must be fixed. The road condition may not good for a typical car with ~150mm ground clearance. Views from the hotel are amazing and the location is near to the Galaha.

This place is great to spend your vacation. I went a few years back and service was excellent.
I gave 3 stars for the location because of the broken road. It was very difficult for us to reach there.

The hospitality from the word go is exceptional and it's outstanding. The staff is friendly and always trying to give the best experience.
The place is situated in the famous Kandy hill on the Hantane range and is picturous. However the views from the rooms does not give you a full view of the range.
The rooms are well maintained and clean. There is a spacious restaurant and a bar. Food is great and overall a great experience.
The last stretch towards the hotel around 500 meters the road is a bit harsh. But we managed it with a premio car with extra caution without any harm.

A fabulous and relaxing place to spend your holidays, and the food is also great. This place is a hidden paradise in Hanthana, the road from the main road is broken, but the view from there is breathtaking. If you're coming to visit some places Sandagiri Seya and a drive in the morning Hanthana - Galaha road is recommended. The hotel is fabulous but has less maintenance reducing the coziness in rooms.

Very nice experience staying at the place! The room was clean and the staff was very friendly. The food was delicious as well. The road to the hotel was a bit small and was filled with boulders so I recommend coming on a high profile vehicle (Jeep)

Nice scenic place, great hospitality and friendly staff. Only downfall is the road to enter the hotel is a very narrow road. 600m drive in a poor condition narrow road

They don't care the difficulties of customers at all. The road through the tea estates are the worst until the hotel entrance. If your tyres are bit old, you may have a night mare when going and the way back. When we called them for a preshoot location, they even confirmed our booking in the morning on the day of arrival. (Saturday 23rd October 2021)
As soon as we entered, they issued a bill and told there was no changing space if we were not paying additional 6,500 LKR for a room.
Fortunately, before paying, we asked the receptionist that we needed to check the location. When we went through, we saw that all their outdoor fencing areas, stairs and other shooting premises were full of welders painters and other labourers throughout the hotel premises. Some of those Facebook showing locations like railings were removed. As the Mount Royal has a very small land area, there were no areas to make our preshoot. So, never go there by wasting your time, if you are not expecting a physical and psychological rag before your wedding.

If you want comfortable place and nice food don't go there.this place is like an abandon place. Brocken windows, no safty, bad smell.oh.i hate that smell. Don't search in internet because they will fool us in photoshoped photos.find another place. And save your money. And specialy don't use booking websites.call to the hotel and make a visit, and if you comfortable with the price and other facilities, you can decide.

This Hotel Belongs to Royal Mall Hotel Chain in Kandy. Hospitality and Meals are very good. You can see Lovely views surrounded with mist in morning.
