Amaya Lake reviews
49 We stay in amya lake Amaya signature also in same premises. Nice place to stay.
They said it luxurious than amaya lake
A gem of old world charm with chalets spread around with lovely tree cover. Excellent staff service, good food and a really nice bar. Hotel has been done up during the lockdown and recommended highly for local and international visitors.
Fantastic hide away from busy life. Enjoyed every single moment of time spend. Hospitality was at different levels. Very friendly staff with royal gesture. Cannot be expecting more than how we services. Thank you everyone for making our stay a pleasant one
Good variety is there in the dinner buffet including Sri Lankan, Mediterranean and western cuisines. Recommended for a diner outing if you are around Dambulla and it provides best cost with proper value. Their cabana's are great for a family outing and located in a nice environment near the Kandalama Lake. Morning view is awesome. Only thing is you got to be careful as it is located near a jungle area and obviously the environment is not only for us. However they have the electric cars to move between different areas of the hotel so you don't have to be worry when going out at night. I've visited this place first time around 20 years back and visited recently as well. To date they are maintaining their highest standards for visitors.
Had a very bad experience trying to dine in as a local customer. Tried to get details on the menu, the front office receptionist directed to kitchen saying it’s F&B department. The one who answered from the kitchen wanted to know the authority of calling them despite explaining it’s not a mistake of ours, but the office. Extremely disappointed about the bitter experience they gave us and previously Amaya group was a well maintained group of hotels. Can’t imagine what has gone wrong recently!
Amazing Place to relax with calm environment
Delicious foods
Kind and hospitality staff

It was an amazing experience. I truly felt relaxed with that beautiful environment. Really worth the price
Very calm and comfortable stay. We loved and definitely going again. Food was nice and the staff was very suppotive. Great place if you looking for relaxed stay with your loved ones
We are just returning after one of the best stays. The place is breathtaking with a superb spread and a service to match it all. Nothing was amiss and we are wondering why we didn't come here before.
Very nice hotel, with pool, international drinks and menu, live music in the evening. Great atmosphere!
Superb place to relax with an amazing view of kandalama lake. Rooms are clean spacious which surrounded by lush greenary. Staff is friendly. Food is great with many varieties. Overall was a great experience
Minus 2 stars for service and cleanliness.
Had to ask 3 different people for some water and a coke. Had already finished my first plate of food and had to go to the hostess stand to ask for it again and there I saw my water and coke behind their stand, just sitting there. Very apologetic, but it takes 10 seconds to grab a bottle of water. The ‘dining manager’ took my order and didn’t even come by to say sorry. The next day at breakfast, he went by everyone asking how everything was, but when he saw us, he just said “hi” in passing. As someone in customer service for 10+ years, I felt very disrespected.
Room is spacious, but not clean. Shower had grime, tub was dirty. Musky smell as well
We really enjoyed spending our staycation at amaya Lake. Calm and peaceful environment and if you are looking for a destination with good food friendly staff and to be relaxed I would suggest this would be a perfect match.
We think they should be more concerned about the delivery timings from the room service
Buffet timings should be extended
Overall this is a beautiful destination that anybody will revisit!
Not recommend to visit for local tourists.
We came for a checkin around 4.00 pm where as our original checkin was at around 2.00 pm. They kept us in the lobby for more than 2 hour saying that the rooms are still not ready for the checkin. We checked in at 6.30.
Front office even didn’t bother to offer the welcome drink for our team where as they offered the welcome drink for foreign tourists even going behind them.
Very poor service of Amaya hotels.
The hotel is beautiful, very peaceful, surrounded by nature.
However the equipments are a bit old, the shower was leaking.
Wonderful place. Good staff. If you are in love with nature this is a one of good place to be. Breakfast is superb. But Dinner and lunch is average.
Very calm and private boutique hotels. Very comfortable rooms and crew is really helpful. They had some good deals for full board basis. It was not that crowded. Even with less people, they had a full buffet open for all meals. They had only limited types of beer.
Eco friendly environment. If you wish to spend your vacation in a calm and quiet place I recommended this. A friendly staff is there and you can spend your vacation in a private cottage. Food is tasty but does not have many varieties. I had a cocktail but it was not up to the standard.
Luxury hotel situated in a beautiful area near the Kandalama lake. Relaxing atmosphere. Very helpful and friendly staff. Everyone willing to help.
Tasty food. Buffet spread for breakfast, lunch and dinner were very good with Sri Lankan, Asian and western food.
Beautifully done very clean rooms.
Can reach world heritage Sigiriya Rock and famous Dambulla temple in less than one hour.
