Bandula Homestay Sigiriya

At Bandula Homestay our stay was very, very pleasant. A quiet place where each room has its own small terrace, to rest peacefully in the shade after the walks (you will greatly appreciate the veranda with table and comfortable chairs, because you are sure it will rain in Sigiriya). The owner was always very kind to us at every moment, and even on the last day, when he saw that we were carrying bags, he took us in his tuk-tuk to the bus stop free of charge. Magnificent quality/price option.

For the amount of money we paid it was very good.
Of course its not a luxurious Hotel but for ~2000Rupees its a steal

The room did have an air conditioning unit but we didn't have a remote to even start it so I guess its probably broken or not usable for the price we paid
But they have a ventilator

Very friendly owner Mr Bandula, recommended us scooter rental, lots of places to see and even drove us to the bus stop the last day. Nice and clean room with mosquito net and small terrace for chilling outside. Quiet neighborhood, short distance to Sigiriya. Warm home-made breakfast.

Home hotel with several rooms. Cozy, tidy. Good location for tourist excursions. Low price of rooms. You can ask to use the kitchen. The room has enough space for yoga or on the loggia, if you remove the table and chairs. In a room without air conditioning, if you open the windows, it is not hot at night, but be sure to use a mosquito net and a fan. Only the first floor.

We experience execelent breakfast.

Very nice place, clean, well located and very friendly family living there. It's all green all over the place. There are around 30 and 50 mins by walk to Sigiriya and Pidurangala rocks entrance, respectively, but just in front of the home stay there's a bicycle rental place with very good prices. The home stay it's also close to the bus stop (10 mins by walk) where you can take bus, among others, to Dambulla and Kandy.

Pleasant stay, great garden and very nice owner. Just ten min away from Sigiriya Fort.enjoyed the stay!

The rooms is ok.but a few things promised not delivered. Definetly no wifi.invest a few bucks to repair instead of hollow promises. 2.5 km to the rock, not 1.5. This is just a trick.it's really one of the last homestays.and half hour walk to the rock, MINIMUM.

Though scrubbed, a clean of the mosquito net, perhaps the hot water shower head as it sprays very erratically, would really help.

Food. I was told early was ok as I had an early departure. "c
Coming coming! Was an empty promice. Half your after I ordered, I left with no food.

There are 100 more homestays on booking, I'd reccommend another.

Best breakfast i had in Srilanka. Very friendly owners. Little far from the city, but manageable. Highly recommended for backpackers and also families looking for budget accommodation.

Fantastic location just 20 minutes walk from town and restaurant's and 30 minutes to get to Little rock. Gorgeous garden with own table outside room and clean private bathroom with towels, soap and hot water. Room had sheets, towels, mosquito net and desk with mirror. Very friendly owner who dropped us for free at the local bus stop (15 minutes walk) so we would not miss the bus to Dambulla!

The place is 1.4 km from the Main Street of Sigiriya. Walkable. Be aware during the night you might need a trishaw as its home of wild elephants. Locals are willing to help. The place we stayed is quite with cute garden and the room is big and good fan! Bathroom is huge with good hot shower and water pressure. Breakfast is good for what you pay. Wi-Fi is bit slow but as everywhere in Sri Lanka. The owner was so kind to drop us in the bus stop! We really enjoyed our stay!

Amazing place, fue family is really friendly, the breakfast is nice, Hot water, wifi, Bandula family is lovely, and he bring us to the bus station last day for free with his Tuk Tuk. Totally recommended.

Lovely little spot. The breakfast is great. It is a little walk to the town and to Sigiriya, but it is very manageable and there are plenty of tuk-tuks available.

In the morning there are plenty of birds and squirrels to watch while you sit outside.

The downside is the room was slightly damp and as a result there were tonnes of mosquitoes. There is a mosquito net which does help.

Well located, close to Sigiriya mountain. Clean room but it didn't have mosquitos net. The owner gave as insecticide instead. Very good service and breakfast.

Clean, cheap and perfect place. Great host, breakfast. We enjoyed stay and visited Sigiriya, Dambulla, Herbal garden, stone museum and Jeep safari - we saw about 200 elephants!
