I stayed at Blue Sky by myself for 2 weeks a couple years ago, while doing research at the temples in Dambulla. Loved the stay. Upul was very hospitable, and very responsive and helpful when I needed anything. Thanks!
Got single room in hostel price. Old house but clean. Situated 2km away from Dambulla city but closet to Golden Buddha temple. Hostel campus is green and gives feel like village. Owner is helpful. No kitchen. 6$ is little more, 4$ would be deserving price. No free breakfast.
Clean room for very good price.
Pros: It’s close to Golden Temple and Dambulla Rock Cave Temple. We stood in room with fan, it was clean with quite new bathroom. The staff is friendly and the guys really cares. The price is unrivalled You can go to Polonaruwa and Sigiriya in one day by car with the owner for quite good price.
Cons: There is no sign with its name so it could be harder to find it but we had maps fortunately If you want to go to Sigiriya by your own, you have to pass quite long way to bus station, but fortunately tuk-tuks go everywhere for a few bucks
