Food was really good, portion wa big and has nice way of presenting.
Privacy is well
A very lovingly run, friendly small hotel.
I had a water bungalow all to myself, in the middle of nature.
The food was really excellent. The rooms absolutely clean.
Highly recommended.
Did not stay but briefly visited. Great little museum and lovely to see all the various Laki sculptures throughout the gardens. The rooms look pretty special as well and would certainly come and stay here at some point!
Man fühlt sich wie mitten im Dschungel. Die Atmosphäre ist Perfekt, das Essen köstlich und der Service stehts hilfsbereit.

It’s not a huge land, but spread with Laki Senanayake’s creations in a small created forest.in fact the guest rooms are all from his imaginations come to life.you get to stay close to nature even though you are few minutes away from the main road.
Now maintained by Barberyn Ayurveda Resorts, we were greeted with a cheerful staff and some delicious Sri Lankan meals.
This hotel is unlike any other. The late owner is a famous artist and you can see his vision come to life. Our room itself had a glass ceiling in the jungle - with a family of monkeys swinging around. The water and sculpture installations are gorgeous and the food / staff were lovely. Good distance to main attractions in the cultural triangle
Most suitable for newly weds.
I'm overwhelmed about the stay at Diyabubula Resort.
Mr Osmand and the staff know in and out about hospitality where each and every guest was warmly welcomed and attended.
Location itself is a picturesque and embellished with the beautiful and inspiring artwork and touch by Late Luki Senanayake.
Stayed at the Bamboo Grooves and Water Villa 2, and where I enjoyed the most is at The Bamboo Groove lodge where me and my friend felt nature at its best.
Food is absolutely delicious, and well presented in a pleasantable manner and catered to our desires.
Room service is impressive, whenever we leave out for meals they have cleaned the messed up room and all used items are replaced with fresh items which I haven't experienced at any other hotel or a resort which I've stayed.
Highly recommended.
Diyabubula is a magical & romantic boutique destination in Sri Lanka. It seamlessly combines the ‘back to nature’ experience with a luxury environment.
Designed to celebrate the wilderness of Sri Lanka as well as the works of one of its most renowned artists, Laki Senanayake, Diyabubula fuses visionary artwork with the tranquil environment of the jungle in a seamless and romantic way to create a secluded haven, especially for honeymooners.
Enjoy a memorable romantic stay in one of the five villas, in the middle of the jungle, experiencing the surrounding atmosphere of running waters and grand trees.
This is kind of different, unique experience! If you want escape from routine busy stressful life for a moment, this is an ideal place with a quite & calm environment with lesser disturbance from outside world. During our stay we stayed at a water villa, Quite specious two story private villa surrounded by small pond and man made jungle. Friendly staff and they serve quite reasonable English and Sinhala food menus.
Amazingly beautiful place!
With so much character of its own. The architect laki Senanayake’s wonderful creation!
The hotel serves only pescatarian food and is very healthy. And 4 course meals!
This place is a must visit for nature lovers who needs that alone time to relax and chill!
Do not expect the commercial luxury typa stuff from this property as it’s not made for it!
Please read on laki Senanayake n his work before the visit which will add a lot of value!
The Diyabubulla jungle Hideaway is a unique place created by an Artistan and Envoirementalist Laki Senanayake. Among some his notable work are The Parliment of Sri Lanka's chandelliar over the speaker seat, the scultured staircase of the Light House Hotel and the double sided Owl over the staircase of the Kandalama Hotel, the notes from 1978 onwards with all the notable birds and trees of Sri Lanka, etc, Diyabubulla is his place of Residence cum boutique Lodge, this 5 acre location is filled with a variety of flora and fauna, water features and birds of many kinds along with other tropical animals. There 5 chalets available out of 3 are water villas popping out of individual ponds, another with a see through roof where you can see the stars, moon and sky, the last is made with live ericanut trees used as the supporting for the roof structure, it is managed and owned by the Barberyn Ayurvedha Hotel chain.
Diyabubula is a unique place. It is a man made jungle. The famous Artisan Laki senanayake is resident there. His house is on the other side of the hotel. There are five rooms. Three water vilas, one Bamboo Grow and the Tree house. Diyabubula serve Fish and Seafood but they dont serve any meat. But you can have Fresh vegetables, fruits and fruit juices. Ideal place for bird watching. The staff is so helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.
